John Paul has been mistreated so many times. Can't believe they always make the most lovely charming characters have the most horrible things happen in these shows.

All three characters in this scene have been abused by someone who is supposed to love them. Ste: from the stepfather, in fact, when he saw him again, the frightened child who was doing it came back. Then later from the first boyfriend who had or rather maybe the first relationship with an older man she had, the one with Brendan ... James, from his father. A man who has never accepted his sexuality ... James after being the victim of a rape by Finn, returns to confront Finn, and tell him to go somewhere to live, away from Hollyoaks, and then come back permanently , it was hoped he would find a normal, stable relationship, instead he found a wolf in sheep's clothing ... Someone should give these 3 characters some peace and quiet for once ...

Gregory is such a brilliant actor beautiful scene with James and Ste offering John Paul support and advice.I hated Mac so much was happy when Breda killed him.

It's horrible and sad that they have all been victims of abuse. Both from parents in James and Ste's case or from partners like John Paul and Ste. Abuse messes with a person, it's gonna take some time for John Paul to sort himself out. But I do like their bond and friendship, these three are always gonna care about each other and be there for each other.

I don't really like ste anymore but honestly even he and john paul would be a better couple than ste and james. They both work well with john paul but what were they thinking putting ste with james.

Swear down, Hollyoaks didn't have such obvious, clunky and unrealistic exposition ten years ago. People don't usually talk directly and emotionally clearly like this to one another outside of therapy; especially not men (not saying they shouldn't, just that they don't). The better, more subtle 3D way to write dialogue is obliquely, characters coming at their emotions sideways and projecting and sublimating.

Gramps always did tell me “don’t talk to People about dating until you get to know them” John Paul should’ve gotten to know George a little better before they started dating. I’m happy to see #Stames are back together again and I think it’s high time Craig should come back to the village permanently and be with John Paul but if they don’t work out along with #Stames and James “McQueen ❤️” and John Paul get back together then I think his Husband Carl Hyland should permanently join the series and be in the opening credits take a break from the Twins Chase and Phoebe. 😃 I mean James “McQueen ❤️” “Wife” has joined the series (only she’s not in the opening titles.
