We all have a sin issue. That’s why we ALL need God’s grace through faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ alone! Let’s not be man-focused, but Son-focused. Always.
Apparently Jesus came to FREE US from sin (Matthew 1:21, John 8:34-36) Have you read 1st John chapters 3 and 5? Romans 6? I just wonder what you think of these passages... Are you born of God (i.e a Christian: John 1:12-13)? "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God"
That’s a wonderful witness for a Pastor to publicly admit a need to step down. That increases my respect for him. Too many disqualified pastors continue on and their pride takes over. I hope God uses this time to correct Tony’s doctrine. That would be wonderful!
It's amazing how one can do a million good things and one bad thing , and the one bad thing cancels out the one million good things. This is so with man but not so with Our Father! Thank God for Jesus, who paid our sin debt in full. Past , present and future sins!
Yep...and to me his stepping down over "old" sin nobody apparently knew or knows about is ridiculous. God's forgiveness isn't enough?? Gotta get away for healing & restoration. If you need counseling for family matters, so be it. Just say it. This is all so stupid. We all have "old" sin. Do we shut our lives down for a season of healing & repentance? I get he's a pastor. If he knew this was ongoing, why wait so long to deal with it??? Sorry, I'm tired of hearing about this over & over again w/pastors. Sometimes these big name ministries all try to look so good on the outside...preaching up storms about everything when they got stuff they try to hide & won't admit to until tbe damage is done. No, sorry...damage control is no way to operate these ministries while those they "shepherd" deal w/the fallout & seldom get answers cuz the pastors can step down & hide. Been there w/my own bad church experience & a "pastor" who wouldn't humble himself to admit he was an alcoholic after 2 drunk driving arrests that made the news. I spent 18 yrs. in that church defending that man who lost 1,000's of nembers & he guilted them all the way out the door!!

Greater is HE that is in us, then we/he/us who were/are in the world. 💪 Take care out there! ♥️
Ok, supposedly it was "old" sin. Seriously. He's a pastor preaching the Word & he's gonna step down over "old" sin, not current sin. What about simply repenting & asking forgiveness & moving on. If we all had to step away for "old" sin, none of us would be going anywhere in life. We'd be in a perpetual state of repentance & reconciliation or whatever he is doing on his time away. And let's face it, most of us don't have the luxury of these time away restoration vacations. And he's just now dealing with "old" sin. I have never heard of such a thing. Now, if he's got some family issues where counseling is needed to repair some things, that's a whole other story...but "old" sin needing time away...somebody help me understand, please.
@@barbs1298 but he is a pastor they are held to a different standard. If it is a practiced sin(one u do all time disregarding God's word about it) when they do those sins they are hurting their flock u are to be an example as a pastor. You also don't know who he has hurt in the sin.
I will be praying for him and his family and the church. I am glad at least he has the integrity to step down as opposed to sweeping it under the rug. I too have a sin issue which necessitated the full extent of mercy and grace poured out on a scandalous cross by the perfect lamb of GOD Jesus Christ. Thankful that the LORD is able to wash any who come to HIM and bring each one who comes into a life and salvation. For Christ saves us. Our works have no bearing. Our best days and best works are soiled rags before a thrice holy and righteous GOD. Let’s not be too proud of ourselves when we see others fall but rush quickly to the Throne for redemption and restoration and lift those who are failing before the ONE who can make them and us new.
🙏💜Lord, mercy! You took the words right out of my mouth, Brother Spencer...bad doctrine and poor morals DO go hand-in-hand it seems. As a preacher's kid who grew up in an abusive home in the 80s to early 90s, it NEVER surprises me when a member of the clergy is found out in this way. As a Christian, it breaks my heart that there are not more sound members in leadership willing to remove them; however, too many are allowed to stay in the church for FAR too long, doing FAR too much damage to the church and to their own families.
@@jrman9148 Members of the clergy are held to a higher standard...that is biblical. I pray for true repentance for any minister who finds themselves in sin, but I also pray for their families and for their church members. They have also been harmed and misled by someone they thought they could trust. This is a betrayal. Spiritual betrayal can be very damaging to one's faith, so this is a very serious concern. Evans also said in news articles that he fell short of the biblical parameters for leadership, so he KNEW he should have stepped down and was aware of his guilt for whatever the sin was--and yet he DID NOT step down. This is a problem! How can his church ever truly trust him again after such a betrayal of trust after his admission of his knowledge of guilt and refusal to step down? It is not about whether or not you or I are "perfect." That's silly and childish, frankly. It's about whether or not a pastor is biblically qualified to fill the office. Evans said himself that he fell short of that, so that should be sufficient. For the record and for what it's worth, I'm not a "bro," either. Respectfully, I've been a woman all of my life. As I said, I have no problem praying for Evans--or "praying for the man," as you said. My focus is more on his family and the church. He didn't act like a pastor by hiding his sin; he acted like a child--not very "manly" to me...as a woman or a Christian.
@@jrman9148 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-16 are both passages of Scripture that outline the qualifications for biblical leadership. These passages are what I was referring to above. They are the same passages any Evangelical Christian Church (like the one Evans was the pastor of) would have also referred to and expected their leadership to abide by--or resign. These qualifications are clearly defined. It is very simple and has been laid out biblically for more than 2,000 years. Also, you can find the news articles I referred to in which Evans confessed to knowingly falling short of these qualifications online on the Christian Post's website. I hope that offers you further clarification. Have a good evening!
From Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship: "The foundation of our ministry has always been our commitment to the Word of God as the absolute supreme standard of truth to which we are to conform our lives. When we fall short of that standard due to sin, we are required to repent and restore our relationship with God. *A number of years ago, I fell short of that standard* I am, therefore, required to apply the same biblical standard of repentance and restoration to myself that I have applied to others. I have shared this with my wife, my children, and our church elders, and they have lovingly placed their arms of grace around me. While I have committed no crime, I did not use righteous judgment in my actions. In light of this, I am stepping away from my pastoral duties and am submitting to a healing and restoration process established by the elders. This will afford me a needed time of spiritual recovery and healing. " I'm just wondering why it took so long to repent and/or decide stepping down was the right thing to do. I think this is a fair question.
Based on this quote, it doesn’t sound like he is resigning to me. “ stepping away “ isn’t the same as “stepping down “. And he “stepping away” “for a healing and restoration process “ sounds like he is just taking a break to me maybe to get some counseling before he resumes his former position.
Like Katt Williams said, “Everyone is being exposed in 2024. That’s all.” I think someone was about to out his sin. He may have been blackmailed. All I can tell you is that an ex trafficking victim called him by name in 2021. TD Jakes as well. There is so much in the shadows most of us are clueless about.
Dr. Tony Evans is stepping away from the pulpit because of old sin? Who doesn't have old sin in their life? The fact is, we Christians can confess our sins to the judge of our life, Almighty God, who forgives and does not remember it anymore. Its the enemy who keeps reminding us of our old sins to prevent us from moving forward in the Grace of God. I pray Dr. Evans and his congregation realizes that who the Son sets free, is free indeed. God knows we cannot be perfect that's why He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us live the Christian life. We live by Grace and not our strength, and I pray Dr. Evans will forgive himself and move on. Stepping away from the pulpit from an old sin, will not make God love him more than He already has. This is the Word of God. Blessings.
@@dianadey5871 i think if he is stepping away for an “old sin” then it must be an ongoing sin not something long gone in the past that has long been repented of.
@@dianadey5871 old sin is different when you've committed it when knowing better. Its obvious that he has been running away from it and is feeling convicted by the Holy Spirit (we can hope). Thank God he has confessed this sin before its too late. We should be thanking the Lord!

Don’t care what he did we all have sin fall short of the glory of God. He is a good man and didn’t hide his sin, but everybody wants to throw stones. Let he who is without sin throw the first stone
I care what he did. Anyone that is a high profile preacher or even a low profile preacher is under a higher standard clearly. Nobody condemning the man, nobody. But he like Ravi I believe are just the start of the fall. The fact is money is power and these people have boatloads of money therefore too much power and none of us can handle that kind of power. Were not meant to. Its better to have almost nothing and be a servant a humble unrecognized servant of CHrist in the closet if need be. You can't serve God and money, you can't. Jesus said this to the rich young ruler and he went away from Jesus. Whatever is the case with Tony God knows all I know is the lifestyle of many of this high to do preachers is a recipe for disaster and we are seeing disaster. Follow no man, never follow a single man never lift any one up in your mind because you do not know what is going on when the lights are off and the doors are just and the TV is off.
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
I listened to a local pastor yesterday and he said something that I agree with and came to the same conclusion earlier...be careful who you listen to on RU-vid, social media, the radio, TV, etc. I really don't listen to much of anyone anymore. Everyone seems to be focused on getting monetized giving their opinion. I don't need that or want to be any part of that.
You honestly can't really "trust" ANYONE propped up or put on T.V., Sadly. T.V. was created and established for a REASON and it wasn't for truth or for the betterment of society, that's for SURE.
Local pastors can be just as horrific. We just had one put out for having an affair with a young woman in the church. Had another with kids but two sisters. Another who embezzled thousands by way of the secretary. No one should be followed blindly.
It’s in all churches. I returned to my small country home church of 15 active members and they had a brand new pastor. Come to find out he was still married to his second wife, and was really shaking with his suppose to be third wife.
Every day it seems that we hear of pastors and leaders that "fall" sometimes in "gross stuff". Jesus is no thief and He's only gonna take HIS OWN.... The Lord is cleani g house big time!!!

The sin Tony committed was not a crime and he says it took place years ago, but he wants to address it according to the standard he told to others. I'm glad he is trying to practice what he preaches, as many of us do try or should try to do. I'm not going to cast a stone at him for public acknowledgement of his sin, because that is not the approach that Jesus would take. He would hold someone accountable, but not rub their nose in a sin once they've acknowledged it and trying to address it. That isn't love, but is something from the flesh. It's something I am tempted to do with people I've been mad at, and it makes sense why Jesus would say we must forgive because when we don't we are a step from becoming a hypocrite. Whatever Tony did was wrong, but he's seeing it and dealing with it, and love will hope for his restoration with God and the truth. I want to point out wrong things that are going on, but I know God is trying to work with me on staying within the bounds of love as described in Corinthians. I've been very judgemental instead of using righteousness judgement. Righteousness judgement doesn't let sin escape, but is merciful when people have woken up to their sins. God was like that with me and I know it disappoints Him when I don't offer the same grace. Hopefully Tony and many others of these preachers will wake up to the truth because I know God does not delight in bringing judgement on us, but it gives Him great joy when someone comes back to the truth.
I Remember Going To His Pastor To Pastor Seminars Yrs Ago. He stated a sin of being mad at his secretary & finding out she was right. He also said, Don't Laugh Because GOD Can Have A Preacher "Step Down" For That Like He Did Moses... I'm not saying this is his sin for this was 30 yrs ago. But I have noticed like you, his Step Down is with Quality... I don't agree with this person who spoke that Tony Evans sin is because of his preaching regardless if Tony Evans was wrong in his Doctrine. I don't agree with that at all. This is not a issue to point fingers at his Doctrine & say see because his Doctrine is wrong therefore this is to be expected. No One Has It Perfect, only Jesus got it right. Stay In PRAYER 🙏 2:46
@JesusChrist_IsTruth-LoveForALL He didn't disclose anything but that it was not a criminal sin. I appreciate brother Spencer's work very much but I think this video is am example of how we can get so upset with wrong doctrine and actions from leaders that we go a little bit too far when we don't know the details or someone's heart. Our ministry needs to be about waking people up to untrue doctrine and wicked actions so that we get out of anything wrong that we're involved with, and then also ministering to those who are doing these things by prayer or further intervention because Jesus died for ALL people and His greatest hope would be for them to come to repentance and true conversion, just like with us. Many people do things out of ignorance or pride but aren't spiritually grown enough to really know or see what they are doing or teaching. Paul was a great example of this and he woke up and repented. We love him now that he repented, but what if we had been there and had cast stones at him before he had a chance to change his life around? It's all about love and I hope I can successfully be reeducated by the Holy Spirit to know what that really means. When I hold someone accountable for sin, it's love. When I cast stones at someone for their sin, I'm a pharisee. And too often I have the attitude of the latter because I've lifted myself up above someone who is doing "something I'd never do", but don't I do things the Lord hates? Sin is sin.
@@cyndih4720 oh I see! And well said, I Agree too! I have come myself from a "wild-street life-party life" and I've known about God/Jesus since I was young, I went to pre-school/kindergarten in the church even, youth group etc. Through my growing teen years I started, went my own crazy ways, went back n forth with church/God, fell away for a good while a few times, walked and talked with ALL walks of life and personalities and have done my fair share of shenanigans. I can relate to pretty much all sides and walks of life and your comment touches on why we need to be aware that although some people are blatantly evil, many people are in ignorance without knowing, stuck in pride or their own ways that they do not realize is wrong, and hopefully one day Jesus can show them the way and lead then to him, as well as we can try to also. Like you said sin is sin, and one persons sin might not be another's, and one person might judge another for their sin because it's something they'd never do. I try to always remember and never forget where I came from and that I'm not always perfect because I have judged at times as well, and I've seen some people become very holier than thou and forget where they came from, but like you said we need to remember these things and apply love and teaching, just as jesus Christ gave us the same mercy and grace. Of course we are not God and have human nature and human feelings so sometimes we fall short in whatever it may be, but greater is HE that is in US, than we or he who is in the world. 💪🙏 ♥️From Los Angeles
@JesusChrist_IsTruth-LoveForALL Amen! We are to judge evil, but remember that it's always with the intent to help reconcile someone to God. I want to always remember that and so often don't. Working on that one, too! 🤗 From Kansas City
Think about this for a moment; if every person, pastor, Christian stepped down from a sin years ago, then there should be no preachers in the pulpit! Unless he committed that sin with the intentions of misleading the church when he did it, then I say - human perfection will never replace God's forgiveness!
And therefore what??! He should stay pastoring while having willfully sinning, not being blameless? Heaven forbid! You step down if you compromise yourself!! In fact, it would do the sheep well if the wolves(false prophets a d teachers), tares(false believers) self vacate the premises, a remnant will remain, the TRUE faithful one will remain. But that's not prophesy. Make no mistake, the evil ones are doing their job, are professed believers REALLY doing theirs?!!
It seems like a lot of people don't know that he's a false teacher and significant one at that.... I used to enjoy listening to him and when that came to light I was pretty floored and did more investigation and eventually found him addressing the accusations and doubling down on the false teaching..... in a nutshell he created his own gospel. What's sad is that people around him didn't force him out a while ago. And reading these comments it's just obvious that so many don't know he's a heretical teacher. That's also sad.....
On a different note, here's a prayer that comes natural to our human hearts: " ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even as Tony Evans. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get." Here's what we should be thinking and praying: "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. *What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?* *Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!*
"The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men-extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:11-14 NKJV

You are not "rightly dividing the word of Truth". Jesus is NOT referring to regenerate Christians in that passage (OBVIOUSLY). He is referring to lost people (especially lost religious types) believing they are better than lost UNreligious types. And CLEARLY in the Romans 7 passage you quote, Paul is NOT referring to his present regenerate self (doing evil?? 🙄). Verse 5 proves that! ("when we *WERE* in the flesh:). He is talking about a man striving on his own - without the Holy Spirit - under the law. That's the whole point of Romans 8 coming after!! You're implying Paul is being hypocritical because innumerable passages in his epistles and Acts talk about being "blameless" and he rebukes sin in others many times, which he couldn't do if he was bound by it. All you need to do to know the truth about Paul is to read the rest of Romans 7, all his other epistles, Acts and ESPECIALLY Romans 6 (which I rarely see quoted 🤔) and Romans 8. Have you read 1st John chapters 3 and 5? Romans 6? I just wonder what you think of these passages... Are you born of God (i.e a Christian: John 1:12-13)? I just found out Saturday that people from my old church don’t believe that Jesus is God. If that’s true the Jesus they believe in is no different than the Jesus other religions believe in. Which makes it really scary how many people aren’t saved……But think they are.
Muslims don't believe Jesus died, was raised by God from the dead and is the son of God and Messiah. Only Christians believe Jesus is the son of God and Messiah ("God's anointed one"). Jesus calls Peter "blessed" for getting his identity right in Matthew chapter 16.
@@ingela_injeela Lol. JWs have serious heresies. Biblical Unitarians on the other hand have been around since the Resurrection. Even before because Nathaniel, John the Baptist, Martha, the sick who were healed, Peter (see below) and God himself (at the baptism and Transfiguration of Jesus when He said: THIS IS MY SON) all declared the identity of Jesus as SON OF GOD and MESSIAH ("one anointed by God"). You have to admit that the warning given twice by John (1st John 4:2-3 & 2nd John verse 7) would look a LOT different if Jesus were God. Y'all think that calling him "son of God" diminishes him. Actually affording him deity is what diminishes him because it denies what he said himself (eg God INDWELLS him: John 14:10-11), it denies his birth, his struggle against temptation, his miracles, his death (God cannot die) and the fact which we're told NUMEROUS times in the New Testament that GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD! "When Jesus came into the coasts of Cæsarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying "Who do men say that I, the son of man, am?" And they said: "Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets". He asked them: *But who do you say that I am* And Simon Peter answered and said: *You are the Christ, the Son of the living God* And Jesus answered and said unto him: *Blessed are you* Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 16:13-17)
While I do appreciate being kept informed on these people, it's also important to pray for them. I wish that was included in these kinds of videos. Blessings to you, brother Spencer.
I agree 100%. Where is the encouragement to the body of Christ to BE the body of Christ to Pastor Evans? May God help us all to walk more closely with Him! Peace ...
Follow no man, Mankind, all of us, have devices in our hearts that are not right. Even I do. Even Paul did! He admitted it. I would say, guard your eyes, your heart, your ears and your walk. We tread on the devils landscape and only God can hold us fast and protect us from the vile, the EVIL.
So then, is it important for pastors to take audiences from calm to frenzy, from calm to frenzy... then calm to frenzy? Because the public isn't aware of the sin, it appears that people want to judge anyway. Sad. Pastor Evans is doing what he believes is right so therefore why should anyone start with the public speculations? Also it appears that many clergymen are the most judgemental. Why can't you say let's keep him in prayer and stop with this .
I don't think you've watched much of him. He preaches the word whether you want to hear it or not. He DOES tell you everything you need to do to be forgiven whether it hurts your feelings or not. Everyone has fallen short but through Christ we are forgiven if you ask and have a personal relationship with him.
Sure we have to pray for him to repent, and i'm sure the church tried this also (see below), and something didn't work, and now the darkness has been brought to light; we can pray for, but we can't make him repent; [Matthew 18:15-17] King James Version 15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. 16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
@@zulemaalonzo256 If you don't understand the parable about judging (log in the eye), maybe you should not comment on it. If you don't judge people, you would be hanging around some really bad people (thieves, liars, murders, rapist, etc...), now wouldn't you? How would you know if somebody is good or bad, if you don't "judge" that person??
I pray that Tony Evans continues turning to the Lord for forgiveness and relies on His power to overcome his sins. Also, can anyone (Spencer) explain what Paul means saying "the times of this ignorance God winked at" in Acts 17:30 outside of the idea of transdispensationalism you've described?
This is precisely what a true man of God would do......all of us have sin issues and he dealt with it like he should have, instead of throwing rocks, pray for the man.

Let's hope for his recovery and that he continues to seek and fulfill God's purpose. It's important for people in the comments to extend grace to other pastors, even if they may not always agree with them. While I may not always align with Pastor Evans, I believe he is doing his best.
JESUS began His ministry by saying "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." This is the same message that mankind needs beginning with Adam and ending when Christ returns. But many churches just say "accept Jesus (as if He waits on us). Or just give Jesus your heart( Jesus doesn't want our fickle deceived heart, He wants to give us His heart ans heart of flesh). My point is I have coined the term " easy believer virus" or the "I'm a good person" disease.
Jesus christ said if you love me keep MY commandments....keeping christ commandments is not works....works based faith is what they did under the old covenant....christ is the end of the law..but christ said if we don't obey his commandments we won't enter into heaven
@getrit3007 God called David a man after His own heart, yet David did some pretty bad stuff that got him into trouble with God. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. We much each stand before God as individuals. Bottom line - Are you washed in the blood . Have you accepted Jesus.
I heard about this first from Cory on Smart Christian Channel, and agree with his take on this event. I have done things in my life that have grieved the Holy Spirit, so am no stranger to how Tony must feel. Many years I was under condemnation, and there were times I felt I was deserving of hell. But Jesus died to set us free from sin and condemnation. I admire Tony for stepping down and focusing on getting right with God through repentance and spiritual healing. Instead of judging him, let us pray for his restoration as a man of God. Read Romans 8:1-39.
💪 No one's perfect. We all have fell short and have certain struggles that are targeted, and anyone preaching Jesus is targeted moreso than the regular person who doesn't even care or acknowledge Jesus. At least he can willingly admit and willingly step down. I don't even know what the story with Tony Evans is, but I'm really curious if you can shed light. There was a big scandal with Ravi Zacharias too, and he was a "great preacher" but his scandal made him a wolf in sheep's clothing, which I was VERY surprised to see, because of his very well spoken apologetics, his was way more than just messing up. I don't know what Tony Evans story is but good comment regardless.
@@JesusChrist_IsTruth-LoveForALL To be honest from what I have gathered, whatever slip-up in discretion he made he felt the need to confess it to the elders of the church. The particulars to my knowledge were not made public and in his words were not unlawful, so he won't be arrested for this short-coming. That is enough for me, that he confessed his sin and felt the need to step down to deal with it. Those he confessed to support him in this, so that is a good thing. I pray he makes reparations with God and with anyone he may have sinned against and comes out of it stronger in the Lord, and an even better man of God.
@@RhythmAndRibs Let's pray this time of reflection will do some much needed correction. Everyone needs that from time to time, like Pilgrim in Pilgrim's Progress. ^^
I’ve listened to him for years and can’t remember anything he has said that’s heretical. Not to say he’s not but I’ve never heard him teach about those things. Hopefully he gets things right with himself.
I listened to him for 1 sermon and heard heresy. It was on the book of Esther, and he put a feminist spin on it, and inserted ideas into the text that simply were not there.
I really do not think that Tony Evans and Carl Lentz are one in the same and even with Carl Lentz he was molested as a child and that caused some serious damage that unfortunately was not resolved prior and no I am not justifying what he has done I am just shedding light on what led up to it. I think that we all have areas of our theological understanding that in all honesty we can all stand to improve on and certain doctrinal beliefs that need to be fixed, Tony Evans falling in a major way 1x reminds me of the time that King David fell 1x and in a much bigger way and imagine someone saying " It comes as no surprise to me." It would have been far fetched then and is still now.
Tony Evans would never say "close your Bible and listen to me"... what kind of cult mess is that? You hear this man's OPINION about a pastor he knows nothing about. And here you are, following him like a dumb sheep an cosigning... yall are sad and sick
So I'll first admit openly I am not a dispensationalist at all. A former leaky dispensationalist who is now more of an antidispensationalist. I'm in the process of studying Scripture to discern the proper way to view YHWH-Yeshua's grace over time from Gen-Rev. But I really appreciate how you pointed out 'transdispensationalist' as a term. Was not aware of that for sure. I knew there was a difference between you and Mr Graham of course Pastor Spencer, but didn't know that was the proper term. I would strongly encourage you to look into Mr Darby, Mr Scofield, Mr Untermier, and Mr Moody, I believe you will find they were all Masons and Esoterics. They are the foundation of dispensationalism and if they are rotten well there you go. Because of your good work, I continue to hope you will come to understand dispensationalism is an erroneous way to view Scripture.
He also teaches in one of his pamphlets that the parable in the gospel of John about the dead branches being cut and burned isn't talking about fake christians being thrown into hell, but instead God using "firey" trials to make them produce fruit. He also denies original sin and his daughter is a heretic.
Give him a year or two and see if he really stays away from the pulpit. It will never happen, even though it needs to. Guys like this don't retire quietly.
No not really, then you should listen to ANY overseer. There must have been times where he was correctly aligned with scripture and the teachings of the Eord of Go! Never forget we've been given Spirit of love power and self-control, we also have been given the Spirit of good discernment and remember it is written we are to keep what is good and throw away what is not.
Hallelujah!!!! The daily jesus devotional has been a huge part of my transformation, God is good 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻was owning a loan of $47,000 to the bank for my son's brain surgery (David), Now I'm no longer in debt after I invested $8,000 and got my payout of m $270,500 every months,God bless Christy Fiore 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸..
I've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of RU-vid videos about it but I still find it hard to understand
Tony Evans lost me in the mid 90's when at a conference, he asserted that there will never be a teval in America until racial reconciliation is achieved.
@@dorismahoney1440 ~ Real true Born-Again Christians don't care how much/how little melanin is in someone's skin. I love my Black 7th Gt Grandma as much as all my lighter toned grannies! ✝
@@dorismahoney1440True Christians don’t care about skin color. Many of us don’t but then there are African American Christians who are getting swept up by BLM and see racism everywhere. It’s sad to see.
@bonniemoerdyk9809 True indeed. But I guess racist ppl be they are black or white do. Ie they wouldn't want mixed race grandchildren. I also met a woman from the States (I'm in Canada). She was with a certain group of Sabbattarians -she didn't think black ppl were human. Perhaps it was a belief held among them, not sure.
Whatever the sin is, we need to pray for this man. If we are as biblical as we claim to be, that would be the right thing to do. I have yet to meet any man that does not have or had something in his life he needed to repent for. Tony Evans just happens to be in the spotlight, and is indeed being held by a higher standard, which he should be, but NOT because he is well known, but rather scripturally, because of his position as a Pastor. As a side note, I've heard his sermons and while I don't agree with everything he preaches, I have not once walked away calling him a full on heretic either. So if the intent of these videos that are popping up is to simply make us aware and pray for one to fully repent for their transgressions so they can be restored, then I'm all for that, but when I don't see that exposing sin is equally balanced with encouraging prayer for those that need to come to the cross or turn, then I begin to question the real motives, and in my opinion we will not be perceived by the world as much different than any secular show looking for the next scoop. Just like there needs to be something that sets us apart when we humble ourselves and come to Christ to be washed, which is what he appears to be doing, in the same manner there needs to be something that sets us apart from the world in how we handle someone else's sin in the body of Christ, which extends outside the walls of our own church fellowship.
Ive been trying to find a church to for me and my family to join but doctrine is always the issue. Maybe I am too picky...yet I feel like I exercise discernment. I loved old T.E. sermons, but haven't listened to him in years---and now he's quit the pulpit! How in the world does one find a doctrinally sound church in this day and age??
@@gerrydean7696 past tense he is not an occultist - don't judge ❤ I've been praying for him plus he's an awesome guitar player . Thank the Lord people don't throw my past up in my face. Give grace - pray for him 🙏
THE ESSENTIAL TEACHINGS OF JESUS Matthew 13:40-43: As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will WEED out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the RIGHTEOUS will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear. Matthew 5:27-30 You have heard that it was said, "You shall not commit adultery." But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman LUSTFULLY has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into HELL. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into HELL. John 8:34-35 Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a SLAVE to sin. Now a slave has NO permanent place in the family, but a SON belongs to it forever. John 14:23-24 Anyone who loves me will OBEY MY TEACHING. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. John 8:47 Whoever belongs to God HEARS what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God. * If you have LUSTFUL thoughts, you will NOT go to heaven. If you are one of the VERY few who has attempted to overcome lust, but have found it difficult to do so, there is a specific reason why. You must first stop committing an even WORSE sin. Ask and you shall receive. @
Sounds like a love child or an ex mistress is about to come forward. Perhaps he had a mistress who thought she was going to be his next wife, but when he married that much, much, younger woman instead of her, she decided to say something. Very interesting story.
What is your interpretation of "bad doctrine" ? You made a blanket statement that those with bad doctrine have bad morals. Where is the prayer for this Pastor? Christians are the only army that shoots it's wounded!
lopezgarvin: You don't know your Bible. You can not be a pastor telling people the word of God and have an ongoing sinful secret going on. The particular sin needs to be dealt with. He is right to walk away. If he stayed, he would be a hypocrite. We ARE to judge those IN the church because we know better. We are not to judge people who are clueless about The Bible because they don't know any better.
When a person judges themselves by Gods word, they will know Jesus was the only perfect one. We have to strive to enter in. 1JOHN 1:9 has to be followed for even the smallest of sin. Not confessing the lesser sin will lead to greater sin. Not giving attention to actions is not giving attention to doctrine. Only through the Holy Spirit a born again Christian knows when he sins. Thinking of a sin years ago can be fantasized about and doing it again in the mind. Make your calling sure. Few will be caught up, the living or the dead. Willingly ignorant is deliberately not following Jesus' commands whatsoever that are written down. God will not look over any sin, and any born again Christian doesn't either. We are to hate our sin not roll around in it and be flippant about the little, small, lesser sins that are the leaven that leads to greater sins.
Listen to me when I tell you this. Tony Evan’s is a godly man. When you are a leader Satan will desire to sift you like wheat and tempt you. He roams about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. We all have a target on our backs when we are walking with Jesus. He is our brother and we must pray for him and help in any way to restore him. While yes your sin will find you out ,, He has humbled himself in stepping down. When we are children of God we do get chastised for our sin. We get scourged and it’s not pleasant at all. You get broken down to pieces. But our God is a repairer of the breach and can pick up those pieces and restore them again. A righteous man falls 10 times but gets back up again because his God is able to make him stand! I pray that whatever besetting sin Tony Evan’s is dealing with that the Lord will break his chains in jesus mighty name ! There is an attack on our men in this hour and we won’t stand for it anymore. The devil used a woman to make a man fall once ,, God can use his women to lift his men back up again through prayer and supplication ! No more will the enemy have his foot on our men’s necks. But you will let them go devils ! You will in Jesus name
The gospel is simple. --Jesus Christ, who is God's Son, died on the cross for the sins of every person. He was buried and rose again three days later. --Eternal life is a free gift … received, not earned-by faith alone in Christ alone. --Jesus said in John 6:47. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life. --Once saved, forever saved. Salvation can never be lost! --Trust Jesus alone and forever live.
I've never heard Dr. Tony Evans make people believe they just need to be good to get to heaven. I've heard him more than many pastors get onto Christians about their walk with the Lord. Sermons about Hell and talk about going through Jesus. The only way . I stopped listening to Pastor Spencer Smith and now Justin Peters some time ago when Pastor Smith started charging people to view extra content that he was making. I don't think that's Godly at all. Pastors need our prayers consistently. They are constantly bombarded by the enemy and their own flesh because of the counsel and sermons on God and our Lord Jesus Christ that they give to many. We are all sinners and fall short. The great news is Dr Tony Evans realized whatever it was that he was doing was a sin and loves the Lord enough to have stepped down. Pastor Smith, would you?
I'm not a Tony Evans fan. Creepy. So glad he was exposed by The Lord. I hope he has a real repentance and gets right with God and stays out of ministry.
