Just for clarity, this is running the Golf 8R motor, referred to as the evo4. I think you keep referring to Golf R 7.5, it's not. It's why it doesn't have the engine cover, they have all been taken off as per the golf 8 recall due to catching a light. The only model using the golf 7.5 motor and turbo is the ateca
I've seen many reviews on the Formentor and this is the best review so far. These guys basically say it how it is. There's not much not to like about this car for £40k. Owned one for over a year now and I love it. It's now part of the family. I'd exchange the child compared to selling this car hahaha
Matte paint can't be polished, or touched up, or washed with regular products, or have normal repairs done to it. When it is resprayed, it is also very hard to make the panels look the same. Looks great, but a matte wrap would be a much better option.
Keep up the entertaining reviews Gents. I was so impressed with my test drive I purchased one over a Tiguan R. The R with a panoramic and upgraded sounds was $80k, this with a panoramic (it comes with the upgraded sounds as default) was $69k. Sadly I’m waiting until December because all the VZx models are sold out…missed by one day😂.
Unknown? Weird comment. Just because Australians have been obsessed with archaic old tech Holdens and Fords doesn’t mean there aren’t other car brands in the world. Anyway good luck to you and maybe if you’re lucky these become cheaper over time and fall into your budget👍
@@jollybrandx9955 fall into my budget???? Who said anything about not being able to afford this unknown brand car mat! And I’m not sure what the good luck wish was for but I’ll take it so cheers 👍🏼 As for Australian old techs genius it’s actually American tech. Holden is Chevrolet & Ford is American also so I suggest you do your homework.
Thanks mate! If only I had spoken to you before I made a comment about Aussie built cars from parent companies GM and Ford 🤣 Your half price comment indicated the budget was lower or you’re just a crap human busy hating….guess you told everyone what you are. So good luck champ.
mate, can you please advise why should we buy this paying 9,000$ extra when compared with the car of the year 2022 - with same or more dimensions ? Its superior in every way. this ateca does not even give electronic car seat adjustment to the passenger seat and giving a manual seat adjustment. r u serious ? why cant you atleast match with the driver seat adjustments. U r charging 66k for this manual adjustment? wow. unbelievable. This is the most undeserving car for this price, except the hp. I see nothing imp for that value. this doesnot have the required service centres in australia....considering the service, repairs, showrooms etc., i dont even feel this is worth this value. I believe this is a crap vehicle to invest for 66k ?
@@manuoz3545 What an ignorant assessment. Horsepower is one of the KEY reasons that certain cars and models cost more. Insane horsepower is the exact reason it costs $66k. Slow cars are cheap, fast cars are not. People don't buy cars because of seat adjustments being automatic or not - LOL. Anyone that knows anything about cars knows that horsepower is a huge selling point. You don't even know what model you're talking about - it's a Formentor not an Ateca.
From personal experience the driving position is wide ranging. The seat can get so low I had flash backs to driving my 350z, on the other hand the seat also allows you to boost it up to a classic SUV driving position.
You are comparing Apples and Oranges. i30N would be the better handling, straight line the Cupra would be quicker to 100 due to awd. On a track the i30N would be quicker and most likely more fun as it's a hot hatch vs a quick SUV. That's not to say the Cupra would not be a lot of fun and the better tourer.
Basically a VW T-Roc R power train with a reskin and the mk7.5R awd system without the smart rear diff from the mk8R. This car for the price premium over the T-Roc really needs a heads-up display. But it does look very good with the DRL's and the rear lights
I have worked in the hospitality industry and I know the coffee used to make McLatte. If you can’t get a decent coffee there it is because of the McBarista just like any other cafe. Group, open your eyes and open your mind
Yes. And even then available only in certain countries. For example, in the Netherlands they only sell FWD 1,4 hybrids whereas in Germany you can get VZ and also diesel version, while in the Baltics all versions except the diesel are available, including VZ5. I have no clue why.
Guys what u talking about cupra is racing company is not VW not Audi not seat or Skoda ok is cupra independent takes engine and platform and tuned change all is best stability flat is beat same level others category plus VZ 5 beat q3rs on race no need compare or try vs others ok is much faster porche SUV so what u try compare or talking all secret is system antispin wheel by haldex gen never spin wheel never like use Volvo polestar is mother of antispin system after VW Mercedes copying or buying system by haldex gen but still is the best many trust like cupra did Volvo polestar and many tuned in the world put use haldex gen system top
You guys are freakin FUNNY AF 😎😆 You both have ADHD, you obviously do lots of research so you can rattle off all the info. I like how you keep all the gopros and cameras in shot which for me, makes it authentic. Others will remove cameras and waste time doing re-shoots. Yes it's their time, but maybe they could use that time to do research. E.g. Car Expert Paul Maric seems to spend too much time on other stuff like testing firmness of cabin surfaces. Anyway, love what you guys bring to youtube. Don't take your ADHD meds, it will dilute your wackiness 🤣😆

@@berniesutton7277 I had a 10 year run and recently got a major flat a long way from home late at night with a couple of hours at 110km/h… it started out as space saving now it’s penny pinching. I travel and explore our great country…not for me. City slickers that only go 3 hours outside a major capital (probably fine)
I honestly was ready to give this alot of shit, but then watching more realised its a good car just a few grand too expensive unfortunately. If this was a $55-58k car it would sell! But the $65+k is too high
Interesting you say $65K is too much….Cupra sold out of the first shipment of VZx variants within a couple weeks of release. You can also get a VZ which gets the Golf GTI Clubsport engine and drivetrain treatment for less….
@Vikturus I feel your pain, a mk8 Golf R in Oz starts at $73.5k….before you contemplate a sunroof or leather interior. I’ve always liked the MkV nice choice.
@@42degrees86 but thats the problem. The market is way too over inflated for what we get. I bought my mk5 gti recently and it came with original window sticker. Fully loaded back in 2008 it was a $45,000 car!
They're not discounting it's fixed price and it hasn't changed since launch. They're selling really well with all MY22 Formentor VZX sold out and couple hundred MY23 orders placed.
before you post do your homework, price is marquee (fixed) where they are sold, no discounts apart from the occasional free metallic paint or the equivalent cash back. As for availability, you'll be lucky if you order one and get it within 6-7 months, if not for any cancelled orders which was my case when I went to order the 2.0 tsi 190hp 4wd. I was given an 8 month wait back in April, checked with the seller what was available and found a cancelled order of a 310 being built the coming week, put a down payment and drove it off the dealer lot 5 weeks, been happy ever since!
