The Chinese Academy of Sciences has a website in English. They made this Atlas and if you are interested in purchasing it they should be happy to provide information.

America might hate it, but I love China! I really hope they can get a moon base set up soon.

@Pax.Alotin the minerals are the major reason that they even wanted to build a research base there... The chinese are ultra business minded people, they never go places have low value.

@chriscain7333 2 месяца назад

2100 years ago, during the Han Dynasty, an emperor named ‘汉武帝’ in China once said: "Wherever the sun and moon shine, and rivers reach, all are within the territory of the Han Dynasty."

Fascinating. I do wish there were some static side-by-side comparisons to get us more involved in this presentation. For instance, one half shows the geology, and the other shows faultlines. Photographs of the southpole next to the same geology area -- in fact, a number of these would be great!

The geologic map of the moon developed during the Apollo period is out of date, now a new comprehensive geologic map of the moon is needed, Yep, we did it ! Let's witness history

High resolution hyperspectral mapping could reveal much more. Spectrums can reveal multiple material components and their percentage of material. Ideally, a satellite orbiting the moon at a stable distance could have sensors suspended on a very light weight wire strand unreeled to within a few kilometers of the surface, perhaps 100 meters momentarily. Hyperspectral measurements would have such high resolution that spectrums of individual rocks in the image could be collected and analyzed.

A suspended sensor close to the moon would allow mapping mass concentrations of the moon; good for geology and good for precisely calculating orbits and trajectories. Possibly add a high energy pulse laser to vaporize a small spot and analyze the light spectrum for revealing its elements (this would be possible but a hard technical challenge). Also sensors could revel suspended dust due to electrostatic charge (this does happen near the moon especially at sunrise). Also mapping the voltage differentials that hold up dust particles near the moon surface. Also map the magnetic field near the surface with an extremely sensitive Josephson Junction sensor. Other possible sensors include LIDAR, ground penetrating radar
