Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Best tactics for feeding on the pole at this time of year would be to take it very easy with the pole (like we did with the feeder) and start by cupping two ball about the size of a tangerine. I'd use a similar groundbait with a few dead pinkies and casters in the initial feed. Then consider topping up with small balls when the fish respond and also introduce some chopped worm in the groundbait as well. Hope this helps! Cheers James

Shorten the hook length. Bream will often pick up the bait but not move much, so with say a 3 ft hook length, you may see no indication on your tip. By shortening, they will indicate a bite that bit faster which means they will not be so deep hooked. Not a good prognosis for the fish with deep hooked bream(just cut the line, don't try and disgorge a deep hooker). I recently deep hooked my finger. I cut the line and left it. It took about 3 weeks before my body dealt with it and it just fell out one day. Completely painless.
