Ladies and Gentlemen, this theory has been BUSTED gyazo.com/f4b9feda55adbb9c26f7a189da35baff You win this time, Nintendo..... (Credit to Tomoki14 for finding this)
When I played through the Yiga Clan hideout, I tried dropping both bananas and other fruits. The guards seemed to react happier when a banana was dropped but they also seemed fine with apples etc. We could probably assume that they do indeed eat other foods, but have a strange obsession for bananas.
So the Yiga are strict fruitivores with a strong preference for bananas then? All of those natural sugars would explain their hyperactiveness whenever you fight them.
You : The Yiga Clan eating too many bananas can lead to death Link : **Eating like 80 acorns in a row during a lynel fight to recover health** What was that again?
Nintendo: Have fun in the game infiltrating these ninjas' hideout with their silly obsession for bananas You: These ninjas have "hyperkalemia" and should all be dead by now Ah, how much fun it must be to be a theorist.
InfernalBlade anything can kill people. Even with friendly old fruit, all it takes is to forget to bite it and then you're choking. But hey, that's just life, I suppose
Yeah after I defeated Kohga, his men ambushed me pretty much everywhere. And it isn’t the normal Yiga people. It was the bulky ones with dangerous weapons, with 400 health
pitfallseed it has nothing to do with how long you’ve been playing, some drop different things. For me I noticed the ones with swords only drop bananas
The bananas are meant to represent drugs. In the July 2017 issue of the magazine Game Informer (pg. 16), the banana also shows up. In the game Final Fantasy Legend II, there are banana smugglers. On non-Nintendo platforms these smugglers were actually opium smugglers, but we're changed due to Nintendo's censorship guidelines. Gotta be family friendly...
Jibreel Hughes, actually Sony censors more than Nintendo now. There a pretty many games that are not censored on the switch, but are on the ps4 and Xbox.
Maz Koshia, the Shiekah monk you fight at the end of the Champion's Ballad quest, can be distracted by bananas, though only once. In an interview, the developers confirmed that the banana-obsession is a trait of the Shiekah as a whole, not just the Yiga. Make of this what you will.
The sheikah have frog shrines to leave apples in as offerings - the yoga ones with clothes over their eyes near their base need bananas leaving in them to find koroks. So might just be because apples and bananas are “opposite”?
And there I was. In a state of total shock and disbelief. I had made a complete and utter fool of myself. I had unknowingly made a critical error in the process of choosing a career.
Given how muscular the Yiga Clan tends to be, that is possible. But there isn't much evidence other than that to support it. Also, now I want to go through the whole hide out looking for other types of food. XD
TLDW - Eating 40 bananas in a day is probably not the healthiest thing to to xpxp Also SOMETHING I WANT TO POINT OUT REGARDING THE VIDEO AT 5:50 I sort of contradicted myself with that first and second point. What I meant in regards to the first point was that I would assume the sheikah had the same body structure in terms of a human, they just can live longer. I mean, they appear to grow food like a human, so it is safe to assume they are like us and need the same nutrients. Second, I only counted proteins because I wanted to be generous and give these guys the best possible chance to live on a a banana only diet, but even THAT would still end up probably killing them (Even though I said they would be fine, remember I was only talking about one of MANY things they would need). And that's basically it....not meaning to troll people with that ending, but wanted to make it into an interesting topic for you guys. I could have just said "they would die", but why do that when you can learn about Potassium and hyperkalemia? ;))) So thanks for watching! Last things I want to point out that weren't in the video, but are fun facts: 1. KARUSA Valley is a Khoi-San word, meaning "land with little water and is where the Yiga Clan Hideout is! 2. I forgot what this one was xD (I'll try to remember and come back later)
While they would need the same nutrients as us, they may be able to handle much more. Think about it like this, if there were a people that did have a banana only diet, it would be fair to assume they could handle more potassium than a human. Otherwise they would never have that diet.
Wow, nice work on this theory man. I love seeing the accuracy of the yiga clan to the iga clans. Also who knew the Yiga clan leader is showing symptoms of hyperkalemia. That's impressive, and your doing a real good job at these theories dude.
Finally someone made a video talking about the iga and koga's clan conetion to the yiga clan I been telling gijingomba to do a video on that for quite awhile now
I personally feel like it added lots of character to them. I do wish they were a bit more serious in the story though and popped up more often. Would have been cool
Maybe the yiga clan has another secret hideout that no one has found and they just use that one for storage, so then they WOULD make the strength recipes, just a suggestion
Hmm... Or maybe Mighty Bananas have a different composition than regular bananas. It's possible that, rather than being just regular bananas, they could actually contain equal amounts of all the nutrients needed to sustain a human body, causing the Sheikah (as we see with Maz Koshida(?)) and later the Yiga to be obsessed with them due to them having everything they needed, compacted into one convenient, easy-to-transport food, perfect for a tribe/clan of ninjas constantly on the move. This is just speculation, of course, but it would still explain a lot. Yes, I saw the screenshot, but maybe they don't just have a lot of protein, but all nutrients, making them perfect for the Sheikah/Yiga.
What complicates matters is that according to the DLC, the love of bananas pre-dates the split between the Sheikah and the Yiga - a statement that's supported by what happens when you drop a banana during the second phase of the Maz Koshia fight. Also, no matter what single foodstuff it is, if you only ever eat one type of food you will starve. Master Kohga doesn't exactly look starved judging by his movements (which, while uncoordinated and mostly slow, don't exactly look weak - he does spins, stands on one leg, et cetera during his fight), and nor do the other Yiga - so a more logical explanation would probably be that they do eat normally with the exception of Master Kohga who overeats, but neither you nor the captive Gerudo lady ever see it. Also, fun theory of mine: Master Kohga actually eats the exact same amount as the other Yiga, but his inactive lifestyle means that Master Kohga is massively overeating on what for the other, more physically active Yiga would be a healthy diet.
even though the shiekah are possibly my favorite zelda race. They sure do have a tendency to turn on each other and cause civil unrest. It's interesting how the discovery of the yiga clan might reopen other older theories that bring up the possibility of turned shiekah creating things that lead to certain stories in the series. Like the theories that say a group of shiekah were banned to the twilight realm are said to have created the fused shadow. Breath of the wild doesn't cease to impress or cause intrigue.
Wow! The Yiga Clan must REALLY love bananas! Guess Donkey Kong isn't the only one. But most of them are kinda... Big. DISCLAIMER: I feel sorry for myself for making fun of video game characters, but 40.5 BANANAS!?!?!? SERIOUSLY!?!?!? Always remember to respect video games.
Too many bananas will make you look like that giant from princess bride because of too much of the banana nutrients i think potassium. That probably explains why the samurai sword people are bigger because they probably didnt spread out their diet as much and bones went from tiny to massive.
Bannanas have tyrosine, which makes you get bigger, the actor for Fezzik the giant in The Princess Bride took tyrosine supplements here is a video which talks about it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZM4K0NZt5Ls.html
I think the bananas are just their major source of food when patrolling or being out and about, but not the only thing they eat. A prisoner's perspective isn't going to be accurate.
The mighty bananas could be different from normal bananas. Perhaps they contain higher amounts of protein which cause them to have their power attack boost when cooked.
I did some more research on Matsuo Basho, to see if I could find some connection there. Appearntly Basho was not his real name but taken, it actually means Banana tree. He got one (and later more) from his apprentices. He wrote several poems about banana trees aswell. However no real connection could be made more than what you already discovered.
NintendoBlackCrisis oh god true. i used to love bananas, but when i was about 4, i choked on one and had to be heimliched, so maybe i'm a little bias. i still remember it happening vividly. true horror
5:55 The Sheikah ARE Hylians. If you remember, there is an NPC that tells you that the Sheikah live in Kakariko Village. Impa, for example, is part of the Sheikah Tribe.
@@snakesandsalem5754 How, the shadow temple from oot was built by the sheikah, there have to be multiple sheikah to plan it out, work on it or gather a workforce to get it done. Sheikah are crazy and a lot darker than it seems on surface lvl.
If the Shiekah Monks can live for 10,000 years without eating anything, I think it’s safe to say that the Yiga wouldn’t need to get that many nutrients
NBC: if you know one thing about bananas it’s probably that- Me: they’re yellow NBC: they’re a very good source of potassium Me: b-b-but THEY ARE YELLOW!!!!!!
What kind of prison guard eats their lunch on duty? Easy; none. Barta only sees the Yiga eating bananas? That's because they're not supposed to be eating _anything_ in front of her, the bananas are just exempt because of the Yiga Banana Obsession.
Did everyone forget that there is dialogue IN THE GAME that states the bananas have a higher protein level than other foods? Talk to one of the Gerudo, and she says that mighty bananas have a lot of nutrients and protein.
Maybe since they are "mighty" bananas, they have more protein. They probably are still suffering from too much potassium, but not as badly, thus not dead.
