I Had a pair of $400 waders and the seam were the waders attach to the boot came apart after only one season. So I started looking for a durable pair of waders that would last. I found high and dry through watching Joel’s video about them last year and after reading their company’s mission statement on why they started making waders. I bought a pair. Couldn’t be happier. They are holding up great and Very comfortable.
Same here man, they are all about making the best wader they can to keep their customers dry, oddly that makes them different than most wader companies, which says a lot about the industry
I just bought a pair of these. First time I put them on, to check the fit, I started walking and rhen ran back and forth in the room. They do feel really comfortable and athletic. I can't wait to get them out in the marsh and on the river!
Got my waders today! So excited for trout opener April 6th! My problem was also sizing. High n' dry had a nice breathable that fit great! Even wore my jeans while I tried them on earlier. I couldn't find a comfortable pair for a chunky guy like me. My 400+ dollar neoprene Cabela's never ripped or leaked on me, but man, what a pain to get into. Basically had to strip to my boxers to get them to fit with a thin t-shirt. And it was one of the owners (I forgot which one) that took the time on the phone with me and took my actual measurements to find me the best size! I discovered them talking on the phone to a client who's lake I was stocking, he recommended them by saying "im 6'7" and 360lbs, and they had a size that fit me beautifully, so if they had a pair for me, you should be just fine". I was sold then before I even called lol. High n' Dry definitely won my loyalty.
@ChasingGreen I recommended them to a gentleman on Facebook who was having the same "Big guy" issues, and he found his set with them, too! Guy has a size 66 waste and they had a size for him lol. This company is "real world man" legit lmao. Thanks for replying! Great video, btw!
Been waiting on this review. I will give them a try once I need to buy a new pair. I see guys doing a wader review after one or two hunts and they may be comfortable but you need a longer test for durability. That’s what is more important to me.
Right! That blows my mind. You have to use something for at least a season to see if its ant good. Hope this vid helps brother. They have been awesome waders for me
The is for this video!!! I’ve shredded waders from walking out to spots like y’all. Also struggle dealing with waders that seem to be made for fat giants... when I’m on the smaller size. I’ll have to try these out. Thanks for honest review
Years ago Cabelas had waders called brush busters . They were the toughest waders ever .Even barbed wire had a hard time puncturing them. But they weighed a ton and they were work just walk in them. I like the idea of they breathable wader and this is a good review. I think my next pair will be HnD waders. They sound great.
I dont think youll be disappointed my man. I hope to do a video in the future of neoprene vs breathable, pros and cons to both. Breathable way better for walking and comfort, neoprene is warmer and better for when standing in deeper water all morning
Great video Jake! I was very optimistic about Rogers Toughman Breathables and I already got a hole in the boot not even halfway through regular duck season and I was just walking marshes and not timber like you guys do lol. I think I will be giving these a try come next season!
I've had my rogers breathable (frogg togg rebrand) that have lasted me 4 seasons. They just sprung a leak in the left inseam, looks like high and dry are my next go to.
I watch surviving duck season (where I found high n dry waders) first season with these waders and I absolutely love them. Was pretty skeptic about having no insulation, been layering up properly an actually been more comfortable than any pair other waders. If high n dry keeps there high standards I will never own a different pair. Very durable and Great product!
I have a pair of Bayou Metos from Mack's (the waist high) that I have had for over ten years and are still going. Don't know if they even make them anymore but they have certainly stood the test of time.
Nice comprehensive review!, Yep thanks to Joel and Thomas (Hoke outdoors) I pulled the trigger on a pair this summer, been on 4 hunts so far (long walks too) and I’m enjoying every step.
I got my High ang Dry this year and I never gonna going back! Even living north east Canada the shipping was really fast!! The boots are crazy warm! Never got anything near thoses boots!
Hey bud I just found your channel really good stuff. Got a quick question for you. I have a disability and we hunt the rivers a lot and I need a new set of waders but I don’t want them to be too heavy that my legs can’t carry them if that makes any sense. Are they light weight enough you think
Hey, thanks for reaching out! I think the only way to know is to try them. But i know if you call them and tell them your situation, they will send you a pair and let you try them, and if they dont work let you send em back. Just be sure and measure as they fit tight. Measure chest with duck clothes on
No i didnt, not really a popular thing in my neck of the woods. Had never seen any in person until blackbelt waterfowl. Hadnt heard much good or bad. I have heard that they are produced by frogg togg but im not 💯 on that
going on 4 season of Rogers breathable with zipper insulation not sure the name but almost positive they were made by Frog Tog. Love em and dread the day they fail. Best of luck with yours!
Is the pocket for your hands insulated? Also I’ve only used neoprene waders. What is the wader belt for? I’m thinking it’s to keep the water from filling up the waders if you go under.
The pocket is not insulated. They sell neoprene as well, i hope to do a video in the future of Breathable vs neoprene. Some people like the belt to just give a more snug, tight fit. I dont use it. Thanks for watching brother
@@ChasingGreen thank you for getting back to me. I’ve been wanting breathable waders for awhile now. Was going to go with the Rogers 2 in 1. But after this review I’ll have to think a little more.
Well let me know how it turns out man. Breathables are definitely the way to go if your walking alot and prefer comfort. Neoprene warmer and better when standing in deeper water for the morning
My brother and I have both been through two pairs of Rogers breathable waders in a season and a half, been trying to find some waders that could last us longer than a season.
I would definitely call them and ask, along with taking your other measurements. Like i said, these things are tight fitting, which is really good but you dont wont to miss on sizing.
Hard to say, i think that would be kind of dependent on your build. I havnt had any problems and i hadnt heard of any. They are pretty atheletic tight fit in general. You could order and try and ship back if you dont like. The owners are super helpful and they will probably be able to answer your question a little better and also assit you on fit
They only sell directly on there website, helps lower cost. There getting another shipment later in spring. I will post when they have new stock available on the website. It goes fast! Better be ready of you want a pair.
The only problem i had with waders were that the boots will tear and leaked. Nothing much from seams or tears from the materials itself. If their boots don't tear as fast i will think about it.
Most comfortable boot I’ve put on. Only hunted like 8-10 hunts last year. Poor stitching and leaks in both legs. I do not recommend. Awkward fit too. Just my experience and opinion
Dang, sorry to hear that. Did you not warranty and get a different pair? Every product on the planet has a certain percentage of bad product. They are made by humans. Ive talked to a ton of people who have tried them and you are the first bad experience ive heard of
Customer service was great. They didn’t have more when I contacted them. Offered to send me a new pair in exchange or a new pair at half off after the season but didn’t want to risk it. Both sides tore the stitching on the front where the buckle meets on the first couple trips when I reached inside to my Jean pockets. I’ve since learned to unbuckle them first but never had to do that before… maybe it was my fault. Oh well live and learn. Also just got a surviving duck season hoodie and there is a hole in the fabric right next to the thumb hole new out of the package. They are an American company but their stuff is made in China. I guess everything is made there now…
