I’m running out of air ONLY when I’m talking. I’m having a hard time to finish a long phrases, whenever i’m starting to open my mouth and start talking, it feels like I’m having a shortness of breath and it’s really embarrassing. I underwent MRI, Spirometry, EENT, X-Ray, ECG etc.. the results are normal. I’ve been dealing with this for 8 years already. I’d like to know if this device will work for me? Thank you so much 🙂

Billy I’m not a medical professional so I can’t diagnose anything. But I notice the same thing about myself and my theory is that I have more to say than air to say it with, that I need to intentionally break up my spoken thoughts with a breath. So I end up getting behind on breathing while speaking because I try to say too much per breath.

Well I decided to give this a try since I have asthma however I'm relatively atheletic and usually only get asthma attacks if I REALLY intensely work out. Today is my first day using it I have to say I'm not sure if it'll help or not but I will say I'm amazed at how relaxed I feel for using it only for 10 minutes. I usually would need to do yoga for approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to feel this relaxed so it seems it doing something. I'll continue to do it and post again in 2 weeks to let you know results. Thanks!

This is a fantastic device and a very informative video. Thank you so much! I am really looking forward to reaping the multiple benefits of doing these exercises and it's already making a difference to my running, my singing voice, and my stress levels! Please forgive me for this ( complainers are boring!) but I would love it if the music in the video was at a lower volume or a little less frantic as for me, it makes it harder to follow the instructions for the exercises. Thanks for a fantastic life-changing device!

So, other than breathing In as hard as possible and breathing out as hard as possible, I don't understand any of the technical explanations, other than that you can adjust the device.
@ronsouther
@ronsouther Год назад
You got it! It’s a simple device that makes you consciously engage your breathing muscles, triggering improved muscles tone that has a profound effect on wellness. Normal daily life for most all of us requires no effort to breathe as compared to those engaged in high intensity sports or those that play wind instruments. Our muscles are weak and the BreatheEasy is a device that gives us a reason to engage those muscles.

Thanks for Demo. Can I use this for cardio exercise or walking while using ? What's the difference between a long exhale vs a shorter exhale. How best to use for high blood pressure ? Thank you.
@ronsouther
@ronsouther 3 года назад
Hi Alistar, due to the increased oxygen demand while exercising, you’ll find the BreatheEasy and similar devices are too restrictive. A running mask is more what you’re looking for, imo. So I teach using the BreatheEasy as it’s own stand alone exercise. Taking longer to exhale means that the BreatheEasy is set to a more difficult setting so not only is does the exhale take longer, it also means the associated muscles have to contract more. It’s like lifting weights with a heavier weight selected. For the blood pressure, research IMST and you’ll see that muscle tone of the breathing muscles has a beneficial effect on blood pressure. I’m not a medical pro, so I simply refer you in a direction for you own research. 👍🏼

How does this differ from "The Breather"?
@ronsouther
@ronsouther Год назад
Every provides resistance to breathing which makes you consciously flex breathing and abdominals muscles. Some make their devices complex, while others use a simpler design. Complexity means higher cost. The end results are the same….if you create exertion, muscles become tone and wellness improves.
@jazzislife5888

So in the inhaling process, do you keep breathing even after taking in a full breath? Should you add more resistence to the inhaling process? Thanks

I bought this device because I have problems at times with hyperventilation. I am not looking to use the device while I am having an anxiety attack - just looking for exercise to build my lungs and stay away from the vagus nerve response. What exercise with the device would you suggest?
@ronsouther
@ronsouther 3 года назад
Hello, I’m not a doctor so not intended to be medical advice....the manual trigger for relaxation is actually to engage the vagus nerve through deeply pulling down the diaphragm across it. What I like to do when I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed is to sit comfortably or recline, close my eyes, inhale smoothly and deeply through my nose, and bring the diaphragm as far down as possible, then pause. Then I release the air through my mouth with my lips a little parsed. I’ll repeat this and very quickly, the anxiousness disappears and life is good! When the brain shifts from fight or flight to rest and digest, it’s feels like a transformation! Now with the BreatheEasy, I’ll do the same thing, but through my mouth, in order to build muscle tone in my diaphragm. I’ll get the same feeling of relaxation. This is fascinating new research that you may find amazing. It’s about how a lack of acetyl choline prevents the brain from going to rest and digest when there’s no need for anxiety. The doctor teaches us how to correct the problem, and it’s interesting the nicotine is what people use to do the same thing. So without enough acetyl choline, a person can be stuck in fight or flight, chronically anxious for no good reason. Vitamins D3 and B5 are two of helpers to fix the problems. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ugPB6jmw2nI.html

3rd year MD student here, I bought this a few years ago because I was excited about the peer reviewed literature findings of devices like this, but can’t find the ebook on my computer. Is the ebook a new thing that used to not come with the product? I really love the idea of this product, but sometimes my tough schedule and jumpy brain has a hard time getting into new routines and habits especially with the rigor of med school so I failed to use this for the past couple years. I’ve done a good job recently with getting into it and want to keep it up, but I dont know if I’m using it to its highest potential. Does the ebook offer suggestions for how much to use it? Daily rep and set numbers and/or suggestions for weekly repetition maximums? Thanks!

how is this better than 1. An incentive spirometer 2. The Breather
@ronsouther
@ronsouther 3 года назад
The incentive spirometer is a medical diagnostic device. It only works for exhaling and is not easy to clean. It’s bulky and you have to hold it in your hands while using. The BreatheEasy is an exercise device for both inhaling and exhaling, pocket size and easy to clean. It comes with this training video and 75 page ebook. The Breather has valve settings for inhaling and exhaling, costs up to twice as much and the blowing tube isn’t my preference compared to a scuba silicone mouthpiece. I’m not sure how easy it is to clean. Thanks for the question! Andrew

@ronsouther
@ronsouther 3 года назад
Some people salivate which makes sense because the BreatheEasy is inserted in the mouth. The user can momentarily stop, swallow, then continue. Every similar device will be the same. In my case, I don’t have saliva issues and I’ve heard from customers that their excess saliva diminishes in time as the body learns.
