If you have anxiety, panic attacks, have been told you "aren't a good breather", hold your breath a lot, are a shallow breather.. this practice can help reset your vagus nerve and breathing cycle to start fresh. Hint: it actually doesn't involve breathing! :)

I have been a patient of Dr. Renee for several years, and through our periodic sessions, I've learned a lot about resetting my vagus nerve to reduce trauma stored in my body from a pedestrian-car accident. Her coaching has diminished the impact of stress and anxiety. Dr. Renee has in-depth knowledge about regulating the nervous system for calmer life experiences and brings to her health teaching an authentic, empathetic, and transparent professional who truly cares.

@BrentGreenDenver

@@TheMLMGold Yes, by periodically practicing exercises from Dr. Renee's videos and in-person sessions, I've been able to eliminate pain and increase range of motion, especially from injuries received through a pedestrian-car accident that originally brought me to her.

Got to love this woman. Good healthy professional advice, delivered by a hot wired ninja, who I'm guessing does stand-up in her spare time. Did I hear someone choke off camera when she cussed. Just came across her by accident and picked up on her attention to the vagus nerve, which is a good sign of someone who knows what they're about, in my world.

Why am i crying? This was really, really, REALLY helpful okay? I am the kind of person who gets nervous from all those breathing exercises, and this was, pun absolutely intended, as very refreshing as a breath of fresh air!! If only i could be a patient of yours 😍💖🥰 your words resonate! Thank you ever so much and i hope to heavens that you never stop doing what you do. All the greenest fluffiest trees to you dear Dr. Ostertag! 💕💕

Cinder Ling... that is so kind of you to share with us, thank you! I'll be here doing this until the Universe gives me some sort of sign to stop... so for now, I'm not going anywhere :) If you'd like to connect over Zoom, we certainly can do that! It would be a delight for me to work with you... and I'd love to invite you to schedule a free consult here: greentreemind.com/contact/#schedule-appt I hope to see you soon, and I'm so glad this helped you! Warmly, Renee

I really love how real you are, and how you actually give tools to regulate our nervous system. I’ve seen similar professionals on RU-vid who just stop at the basic education and don’t actually give any tools to help. Thank you!

This is such good advice. It's a pity that hardly anyone is aware of just how vital the good functioning of the vagus nerve is. For most, breathing exercises seem too subtle to have any effect yet they are very potent. People just need to give it a go.

i have watched one or two of your vids, just bumped into them randomly. Today was the another one in 700 plus days of crap, full body pain, stuff going wrong, other things i can't mention here and honestly i was thinking of ways to check out . . . your cheerfulness actually bothered me until you said about the car and the stop sign, and i 'sighed' and i'm exhausted - but i feel a bit better. thankyou

ExActly! As long as I had not yet cured my trauma, BREATHING exercises were only INTENSIFYING the problem, making me MORE restless! And people blame and shame you for being unable to do what is so simple to them! I don't blame and shame, I constantly ADAPT to people so they don't feel judged or stupid, but I am seldom given the same respect. The more you evolve, the more alone you are...

I like that when she said she is “a like nervous system ninja.” I will say the exhale should be longer than the inhale to relax. Also take a cold shower for 1 to 3 min. helps you de-stress as well.

Hi Renee! Thank you for all your helpful videos! I have a question about Resting heart Rate. Mine is at 80bpm I was wondering if this is too high and if so what is an optimal resting heart rate for the body to heal? Can we access this by tapping into the vagus nerve with your excercises? Thank you so much!

Hahahaha "oh f*ck" I love your raw honestly and personality. 😂 This really worked so well. I just did the vagal reset laying down and this breathing and wow. I'm so relaxed right now. I was having a random panic attack come on and now I'm relaxed. Whenever others gave breathing exercises it felt more suffocating because it was forcing me to breathe in a way my body didn't like. That contributed to the anxiety and didn't help. I love this breathing you taught. This is the most relaxed I've felt in a long time. Thank you!!!

REALLY appreciate this advice. Thank you. Something back (from an audio professional): Your lav mic wasn't picking up your voice very well. It seems your camera's/computer's reference audio was being used instead. I had to dial up volume 70% to hear you. Been there, done that. Test that lav mic volume, and boost the gain in post as needed. I want to hear you! Again, thanks.
