For requests of covers you'd like me to record, feel free to write them in the comments. To be fair, I haven't done this to improve or the song. I stayed somewhat nostalgically close to the original music, compared to what I would normally want to to do (subscribe to hear a less nostalgic version of another song).
I'm proudly recording with Audient iD14 preamps for guitar, vocals and drums, and a Rode NT1 for the vocals. So far I'm very pleased about the results.
Last week (May 9th) I was reminded of the catchy Breed Apart intro while practicing changing flam patterns. Some songs from those old days are just hard wired. That was a good idea for flam accents that differes from the way the song is originally played. But it's a different feel at the end of the day and just a variation.

Sepultura's album Roots, as most of their output had a great impact on me as a human and musician, and on many of us at the time.
I first heard the band in 1996-97. Myself and brothers Juan and Anthony Tapia staged songs at lunchtime at school, from Metallica, Sepultura (Desperate Cry from Arise which Anthony implored I listen to, my intro the band) and Megadeath, on a lawn at Slater Middle School. Yes I had the double pedals sorted.
Thinking back, that was my first gig at 13. Anthony was older from another school, and could fret an arpeggio across 6 strings as fast as he could strum across them. For Sweating Bullets by Megadeath, he got on the drums and I played bass while Juan switched from bass to guitar, while bassist for the gig, Brian Grisham, waited while I fretted bass with my thumb.
