Hi congrats! Seems everyone agrees the top is solid but I've seen the back and sides been listed as solid I'm some places and not in others...any chance you can let me know first hand ? Thank you 👍🏻
Terrific sounding guitar. Much prefer the new headstock compared to the usual asymmetrical one ( which I really don't like!). Granadillo is a great sounding wood...a little more 'lively' than Rosewood but with the primary sound that most folks like in a Rosewood.
Granadillo is another rosewood out of The Amazon region. The builders are finally learning how to process these new tone woods and get the True Tone out of them. We can look forward to the new builds with excitement and anticipation.
I also like the headstock. One thing you didn't mention is the bridge. I don't know about the JB model, but one of the reasons I bought a Breedlove gtr was because of the bridge - no bridge pins. I've never had an acoustic that didn't have bridge pins break off in the bridge. For me , that was the deciding factor when I got one. Also liking the woods, mine is myrtle wood
@@dustinrosemusic Yes, and convince. An alternative to breaking pins is getting brass ones, I know someone who did that, but then the mass alters the balance of the guitar and they chee up the bridge. It seems like a dumb thing but it's been a factor. Btw I have a Breedlove parlor. Very nice instruments
I love this discussion on the bridge design. It plays a massive role in the sound and wear, plus a minor role in the playability of the guitar. Many discussions (Wars) are being waged on this topic. I seem to favor the BreedLove design over others but still can appreciate a pinned bridge.
How’s the action? I have a persuit cedar and the action is too high. I’ve seen other better Breedlove guitars in the pawnshops that the action was super low and more playable than mine but, they were all over 1,000 dollars.
Thanks for the vid: excellent! Just purchased this Br. JB Amazon guitar in large part because of this vid. BTW, the Amazon rainforest is in South America, not Central America.
Awesome! Thanks for your kind words. I’m glad this helps. Granadillo wood is actually known as Mexican rosewood. From what I’ve heard, much of it comes from the southern part of Mexico, Central America, and all the way down to Brazil. I was told from Breedlove that their source was from this Central America, so I don’t know??? 🤷🏼♂️ You may be right.
@@dustinrosemusic Thank you, Sir. Your guitar insight is spot on (from my perspective), so, I reckon your geographical acumen is equally adroit. Forgive my earlier 'correction,' please 🙏.
They call it the Breedlove Natural Sound. I heard that it’s a version of the Shadow Electronics’ Micro-Sonic VT HD undersaddle pickup with a specifically voiced preamp.
