I was shocked to learn that what, at first sight, looks absolutely elegant is also fairly rugged and wearable. Unless you need a true tool watch, who needs a Submariner when you can have this!
This is going to be my first Breguet. Actually it will be the first watch I've ever owned, ever. My whole adult life I've never worn a watch because I only appreciate quality pieces and I couldn't afford anything I liked. I'm 29 now and finally ready to splurge, I believe this will be a perfect entry level timepiece. A nice quality watch that can be worn in a variety of settings and will hold it's value also I believe... Can't wait to have it on my wrist!
back in 2011, a Rolex Daytona is $10k and this watch is $10k. Today a Daytona is $23~25k and this one still at 10k. Marketing is poisoning the watch industry today.
@@sergeyzerkin8029 all watches are hype to a degree. The daytona is a very different watch, not sure what about the movement makes is the best in your eyes. Rolex bought out their movement maker in 2004 and used zenith in the past. They didn't even design it themselves. I went with Lange for a dress watch, more of the price went into the watch itself, the movement is world class and on display. Have your seen the Sax-O-Mat movement? The investment argument is false, if you can get a daytona at retail then its easy money. But at preowned high horology vs preowend rolex, you are getting much more for the money at high horology. At preowned omega vs rolex there is a huge gap. I bought a 3k omega in 2011, I've invested the 7k difference and more than 3x my money. I've bought a preowned Langes since and still have cash in the bank. If you just want to flaunt money and a brand then sure, stick with rolex.

Love the Breguet lineup but their sports line seem anemic in features and out of place compared to the rest in the market, though reticent in decoration compared to the rest of the Breguet catalogue this seems without the ubiquitous features to be rather without a unique purpose or function. Tim I recollect you pointing out a certain make and model of this line up as your favourite- (was it pre 2018 collection?) which is now discontinued during one of the live shows, would you mind pointing it out?
Being "out of place compared to the rest of the market" could indicate that the rest of the market is rather bland, anemic even.. Few of my watches gets as much compliments as my 5817. The FP movement is as always a plus.
@@Memovox I meant no offence, but seeing the model I find it to be somewhat lacking in definite purpose or function compared to the rest of the Breguet catalogue, that being said I still find it to be handsome and a compact piece, happy to hear you enjoy yours wear it in good health.
Spectacular watch! It’s probably either a watch one either love or hate. And then maybe not, because I love all aspects of it except the to angular lugs with the ungainly screws. The strap however I feel blends nicely the otherwise beautiful watch. I wonder how a strap like this would look on a Patek 5196G? Maybe it could be called the Patek 5196V. V for vegan 😄
