absolutely true! it's not only the character that was brilliant but also the actor portraying it. he can never be replaced not in a million years BB was legendary with all his psychotic-ness and cute sides. the most unique character that has graced Hollyoaks

@@LucifersCounterpart Only an epic actor deserves an epic character and viceversa. Without Brendan this turned into a sad "culebrón". I don't know if there's an English word which can give you the same idea of a sad, far fetched, poor argument, devoid-of-original-ideas kind of soap.

Emmet can't be recast. I've only been watching the clips and that actor nis special The chemistry is amazing between Ste and Brendan

@@nancycottone2155 i can't believe you want them to recast. if i had to choose between a recast or no brendan return, i'd rather he didn't return. no actor could do brendan justice like emmett did. recasting would just ruin the character. he's too iconic a character to recast. emmett is one of the best actors oaks has ever had

I think he was just reacting in anger. I think if it were me and someone I loved and wanted to be with couldn’t be with me because they made a promise to God I would be pretty angry too 😅 especially if I left my husband to be with them. I know it was selfless on Brendan’s part but I can understand Ste’s frustration.

@@goldilocksoriginal1984 yeah but remember Ste and Brendan were not together or even cool like that at that point. Stev and Doug were already planning on going to America with the kids and Brendan did not like it because he thought Doug was forcing it/ he didn't want him to go but Ste wanted to go because he wants to get away from Brendan and help save his marriage, only because of the accident is why Brendan made his promise to God to keep him alive and then when Ste woke he asked for Brendan first and then when they were at the airport he realized that he was so in love with Brendan and then he left Doug. That was not Brendan's fault. Brendan didn't force him. He did that all on his own and then when he saw him and John Paul he was angry even though he was a single man. Remember for months he was in Brandon's face with Doug. When he finally explained the reason why they can't be together Ste was really angry and saying that he did all this for him, I know they've been through a lot but it was unfair at that point considering nobody forced him(Ste) to do those things. Brendan as a person was not in a place where he could have been open with his sexuality and all of that that's why their relationship in part fell apart and the Doug saga began

@@refelicia824 I totally agree with you on everything! I was just seeing it a little from Ste’s perspective too - mainly in regard to the mocking of Brendan’s religion. Plus though there are a lot of good reasons why Ste wanted to be with Doug - firstly there was no previous abuse between them. Secondly Doug, while he did struggle at first with his sexuality, came out willingly to be with Ste, whilst Brendan didn’t. I’m not saying Brendan should’ve come out the instant Ste said too - that should’ve only been on his time. However, it is understandable why Ste stayed with Doug first but then, in the end, choose Brendan. He did put a lot on the line by going to Dublin and after being so rejected in the past, by not just by Brendan but others too, to be rejected again must of been so damn painful. I do know it wasn’t Brendan’s fault and he didn’t ask Ste to do any of those things, but I can see why Ste was so angry. Either way though I am happy that they got a happy ending - even if it didn’t last long 💕

@@nancycottone2155 how often does a recast work though their have been rare instances where i have preferred a new actor for example i Much preferred the second rose in keeping up appearances i found her more believable i didn't like the new Darren in bewitched nothing against the actor but I just preferred dick yorke as Darren who could you envisioned taking over Brendan role

I thought the Brendan haters would have retired by now. He left nearly 8 years ago. How can you hate a tv character for that long? Course if Emmett decided he wanted to come back, I doubt the Hollyoaks bosses would say no considering he was the best actor they ever had on their show.

Amazing how people want drama but hate every single bad guy!! Brendan was brilliant, from his first episode to his last. The writers could never create a character like that now. And a lot of the acting now is, well, substandard.
