Brendan Brady's always a total selfish jerk, everything he does is to please himself. But he has the ability that makes you love to hate him, and hate to love him. His final confession is so heroic and dramatic. Personally, I would prefer he dies in that scene, cause locking up in jail and being a prison is a big humiliation for an antihero like him.
