He might not have scored, but certainly had 2 or 3 good link up play with Sturridge, and was always tracking back, even in our own penalty area, tracking full backs all the way. Defended corners well too. Final pass not quite there yet, I must say. Put in a shift today. I think all the fans appreciated the effort today. Good debut. 2. Alberto Moreno Ran a total of 117 yards to pressure Townsend, get the ball, and sprint half the length of field to score. Great work. Have great pace, defensively solid with the clearances and tackles. Solid today. 3. Manquillo In the 1st half, he won 2 tackles and had 4 interceptions, best of all the players. But, got another yellow. If I'm not wrong, he's got the 2nd yellow in just 3 matches. I thought he doesn't have the pace compared to Moreno, hope he can learn a thing or 2 from him when defending. Was caught out of position one or 2 times, wanted to see a little more of his crosses. Expect more of him in the next few matches. Young and promising though. Just got a few areas to improve on. 3. Lovren/Sakho partnership Where do I start? Going for the same ball for 4 or 5 times throughout the match. Displaced easy passes( both Lovren and Sakho did that). Going for the same ball, almost costed us a goal in the 1st half.. Hope BR sorts that out. If Srktel is gonna be out injured for quite some time, worried that Sakho with the ball at his feet. Sometimes he need to know that when there's not many options available, pump the ball up. Don't keep going for the ball to the LB. Lovren also gave the ball away a few times, and had a pull on Adebayor's shirt which should have been a penalty. COMMUNICATION very poor. 4. Jordan Henderson The key player for us in the next few years. No doubt. His energy, running off the ball, both forward and backward, were a key reason why we didn't look short on numbers in the middle. 2 assists in 3 games. So sure that he clocked the most distance in the 3 matches we played. 5. Joe Allen Honestly, I think he isn't good enough for us. Sure, he offers energy in the middle of the park, but he's much more of a short passer. He doesn't quite see a through pass, defensively, can't contribute much with his size and height. Is much more like a player who recycles possession. Emre Can offers drive from midfield, size to with physical one-on-one battles, and offers an option in set-pieces. Conclusion, great performance, defensively a lot of problems to be solved, the CB partnership, who is supposed to track midfield runners... Great 3 points, esp. after a away defeat, shows character to get back on track. And we haven't seen Adam Lallana yet. Plenty of promise to be positive. Markovic, Can looks bright when the came on, and we still got Lambert, who in the 2 previous match, came on and because of his presence, we scored after that! #theKOP #LFC #YNWA
