The best performance advice I've ever heard came from my elementary school teacher: "no one ever really knows what you're trying to sound like except you, so if you mess up, just keep going. No one will notice." Or in this case: "flat notes are fine, as long as no one hears them but you" :D
@@ThePenquinX some people who become skilled in things can gain/learn instinctual reflexes. Talented people are born with it, skilled people need time and practice.
Does Brendan Urie not know... he's Brendon Urie? He's put himself in a tiny corner of the screen and is genuinely shocked that someone likes his singing. And how is he not singing along? He looks disgusted when Tristan is quiet and it's just him singing
Well after a performance, especially when it’s years after like in these performances, you can hear what things you would change. It’s never good enough for you because you feel like you can do so much better
I like how when Tristan stops to explain something Brendon’s like “oooh ok cool wow” like he’s just learning this He’s literally talking about what you’re doing beebo you’re the example
Well, just because someone is good at singing doesn't mean they know all the technicalities. There's a big difference between someone who became famous after high school because they sang in choirs and some local competitions and joined a band that blew up, versus someone that went to college and studied vocal performance and learned the intricacies of how and why your voice does what it does, and how to manipulate that. Brendon knows his voice because it's his voice and he's been working with it forever, but that doesn't mean he's an expert in voice in general, so he was genuinely learning from someone educated in the subject.
@@tamirespaiva3913 nope he just have higher standards We fans just love the great part of his performance but when you are performing you always think about stuff not good enough
@@heatherg1296 eh had a good thing goin then he lost points for self pity, funny thing about jokes is that they typically reflect the truth and reinforce it (now I'm not saying in any way that it is the root cause or even a major influencer on it), this is why self pity and depression jokes are so popular now a days and low "self esteem" (for a lack of a better term at the moment) and depression are so high. Yes it's a bit rough to go into the psychology of it which is why I attempted to leave a joke there but got taken out of context due to the last dudes joke. If I were to do this again I would write "The ones you have shown your true self too instead of the part of you looking for approval, the ones who know your talents and skills, the ones who know how reliable you are so when you say your going to achieve something you will. The ones who would have there lives worsened without yours. If those people are few or nonexistent then strive for it and dont give up." But I didn't want to be an internet "Dad" or get philosophical at the time.
I have the opposite problem. I somehow convinced myself I sound like Alex Turner but then I hear a recording of my voice and the truth is I sound like a dying triceratops on meth.
@@Wargsy yeah I always think about how there's a possibility that good singers hear their voices like I hear mine, which is weird to think, having so much respect for their talent
it's not that surprising to be honest it's like artist who do'nt like their work when yu hear it so much especially afetr a long time you can only see the flaws of your own work , I guess it's like that we improve in a way
These reactions make me think he doesnt engage in a lot of formal vocal training rn and it makes me wonder if he'd get evem better somehow if he did. Like if someone sat with him and assessed his voice and helped him to strengthen it even more. Because if he's doing all these great techniques on instinct, imagine what he could accomplish on purpose.
ZariDV I promise you Tristan doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s one of the biggest poser vocal coaches among many. Brendon has absolutely had voice lessons.
He definitely had some more intense vocal training for his broadway run, and yes there is a bIG ASS improvement in his live performances post-broadway. Like, before he was awesome and now he sounds godlike for real
So sad that he always tries to justify his singing and doesnt really acknowledge his great talent. I hope Brendon becomes more comfortable and confident, he really deserves it.
Anxiety probably plays a part, but he's also on a video. As kids, you're often told to downplay your accomplishments to not seem braggy or arrogant. Think of how many people (anxiety ridden and NT) say "well it's kind of the wrong size/color or this is old or was cheap" when you compliment them on their clothing instead of just saying thank you. People in general have a tough time responding to compliments and it's almost socially expected for you to downplay it. Very rarely do you see people go "I like it too. Thank you!"
HouseMDaddict For me personally, if a person compliments me, I simply do not know how to react and feel indebted to them for some reason and downplay it. I also get a very heavy feeling of embarrassment when I’m complimented. I’m not even introverted, nor is it the impact of society. I don’t know if I’m not confident enough, but sometimes when people compliment me, I take it as them trying to make me feel good about myself or overrating my abilities.
@Lauren Simighean kjbsdksbad i mean saying people enjoying fortnite isnt a self respecting human being IS pretty dramatic, like it's an opinion but it's still a dramatic opinion
@Lauren Simighean no, no sorry i didn't mean to argue, i was just baffled by fandom's overreaction in general like yeah obviously you're not serious, but people really need to chill and learn to say "i hate fortnite" instead of insulting people who enjoy something you don't, just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people are embarrassing for liking it
yarrayora preach that gospel! Lauren you are extremely small minded and I can see why you deleted your original comment because you must have come across as quite ignorant. A lack of dignity to play a game like wtf😂 I ain’t even play that shit but your little thread here is a whole new level of stupidity. No need to shame someone for doing something THEY enjoy, it’s not like your life is being impacted because of it.
Brendon is like **blushing** "Ah Maan Idk i just sing..stop it.." Btw he should have reacted to the 'say amen' performances. The High Notes are amazing. Always.
Brendon has the best vocals of this generation. Full stop. And in my opinion, has the second best vocals in the entire history of music. (Only coming second to Freddie Mercury, himself)
Thank you for recording and posting this, it was very fun to watch. I think it was great that Brendon reacted to those two videos today. He still after all this time does not have as much confidence in himself as he should so I think they may have helped him.
Wow 1. Tristan react to brendon 2. Brendon react to tristan reacting him What if this cycle goes and goes on 3. Tristan will react brendon reacting video in which tristan react brendon 4. Brendon will react tristan reacting video in which brendon is reacting a video in which tristan react him Very confusing
I want an entire playlist on Spotify of these live/acoustic versions of these songs.... just soooo raw and beautiful. His voice is so much more of a standout. Ugh.
Bro I love Brendon so much like he is so amazingly talented and he's literally a celebrity but he doesnt let it go to his head. He's so undeniably human and I _love him_
Had the pleasure if seeing Mr Urie last week at his last performance as Panic! It was remarkable and I made lifetime memories with my youngest daughter. She was the one that properly got me into Panic! At The Disco
Bro I never imagined that the guy who was in Panic at the disco would become a famous streamer along with having badass vocals. This video game era is why I am so happy I am alive at this time
