i have actually SEEN THIS! it was freaky as hell but interesting too, the little boy had opened his eyes and was looking through it, then we popped the sac and he took a huge breath then stretched out

3 homebirths with my girls. My oldest was unassisted with just me and my husband. He caught her still in the sac and it broke within her being put on my chest. But she’s gonna be 11 and I still to this day do not regret having home births!

Not apples to apples, but when baby goats are born, I hold them on my lap, slightly elevated, face down, so the secretions drain from their nose/mouth. Their mothers assist, but gravity helps as well.

Good for Doctor Asher to head straight over to the newborn when she arrived as Doctor Asher specialies within helping pergnat women and childbirth. Well done Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) and Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) for both realizing that the kit needed to help the baby wasn't there as well as reporting it. Good work

That was just a disturbing scene, and then the teen mother, who was just not interested in her baby at all. It didn’t seem like postpartum depression, just disinterest.

Some people, even if they did want the pregnancy, don't bond with their kid right away. I imagine it's more common for kids resulting from unplanned pregnancies

She DID look freaked out by the end, when they said that the baby had to be taken to the hospital: she got upset as she watched her baby being taken. She had no idea what the 'water' was, so odds are this was probably her first child, meaning shock and confusion are likely in effect.

Then the last shift were at fault no matter how tired you are after a shift you should always restock your equipment I always had to whether on an Ambulance or not

The sac doesn't look like that and it's full of fluid that's what brakes when your water brakes. If it doesn't brake its not a problem, they just pop it and remove the baby as well as clear it's airways which they do anyway. I was born with the sac intact my mom said and as soon as I came out it exploded and the doctor and nurses were slipping on the floor and yelling for towels.

Adler is the PIC of first shift, Brett is the PIC of second shift. The alarm for this call said 'Emergency', and it just so happened to be shift change. Brett and Violet didn't have the time to check the rig completely. Also, Adler didn't restock the OB kit. She has also done this in the past, so she got fired.

Bro if this was IRL and the OB kit wasnt on the rig then its their fault?? emts and paramedics are required to check all equipment BEFORE they call in that theyre response ready. Its literally called the rig check??

Brett is the 2nd shift PIC, Adler is the 1st shift PIC. The alarm went off during shift change, and it said 'Emergency' at the start of the alert. Brett and Violdt didn't have enough time to check the rig completely. Also, Adler didn't restock the OB Kit, and she has a history of doing this in the past. This was her third and final strike, as she got fired during this episode.

the baby wouldnt be that HUGE btw... babies are tiny and small and it was weird how shes sitting in the living room and not the bathroom or in a tub of water usually home births require that... i know its staged for TV but still like it seems weird to see such a HUGE baby and her holding it like its some alien lifeform lol

Sooo many things wrong with this portrayal! No need to clamp and or cut cord in order to help this baby! Suction good but not essential... getting baby stimulated to breathe and get airways open was the need!!! Mouth to mouth would have made a difference! And that baby looked shrink wrapped...not at all realistic... that was just bad!!!
