I was at Kenny's second last game against the Raiders in Canberra. The Raiders were at their devastating peak and thrashed Parra 66-0!!! Nonetheless, the crowd gave Kenny, who was certainly not to blame for the disaster, a rousing send-off. I think I shed a tear!!

Yep, the end of a champion and champion team. Parramatta were dead beats for years afterwards. Talent like this doesn't grow on trees but the junior development and recruiting were terrible in this period.

Their run ended in 1986. Kenny was an average player 87 onwards.

I personally asked wally Lewis once who he rated and without hesitation stated Bert was the best player he ever played with or against. To be honest, Bert should be an immortal.

I went in to pay for fuel at seven eleven at the entrance on the central coast nsw and ran into him . Had to say hello , hero of mine as a kid in the early 80’s

"Who'll ever forget his duels with Wally Lewis..." He pissed on Lewis every time he played against him. The only time Lewis looked good was when they played Bert out of position. Best 5/8 ever.
