@@yingyang1875 All salary numbers in the U.S. exclude taxes, so that doesn't change the relative numbers. For my specific car (a Japanese hatchback), operating costs were extremely low. I averaged 32mpg when fuel was around $2.70 a gallon, which averaged out to about a gallon an hour (mostly city driving). A conservative estimate for my operating costs was around $5/hr, so the pay including operating expenses was about $30/hr. I also maintain my own car, so maintenance is even cheaper. Insurance was less than $30/mo, but that's something I'm already required to posses so that matters much less. My car was also worth $4,500 after I stopped doing ride-share, a valuation which was confirmed by a check I received from an insurance company after the car was totalled. Now the less intelligent Uber/Lyft drivers are using brand-new, financed vehicles, that depreciate every mile they use it, and they're paying an interest rate until they pay off the loan. Plus, financed vehicles must be comprehensively insured, which is 3x the price. And to maintain their factory warranty, they will probably have to maintain the car using a dealership. I witnessed several people doing ride-sharing using $50k vehicles that achieved less than 20mpg, and I could imagine they're losing money in the long-run. So to make money in that specific industry, a person should take a few minutes to verify whether it will be profitable or not. Instead, we get a bunch of less-intelligent people complaining about how much their paid when they're the people who I just described in my above paragraph.

@@yingyang1875 all hourly pay is before taxes so still better than a measly $15. Then you take into account all the expenses you can write off.. or if you don't save receipts you can take the standard deduction. In my state i get .57 cents for every mile I drive while the app is going, even if I'm not doing a ride. It's leveling out a bit now with the economy collapsing.. but still wayyyyyyy better than some retail or food service job

Best way to avoid bad customers is to never work at places that allows you to work with them. Work at an industrial factory or somethin’. No point in having a job you ain’t going to like for years straight with bad pay. 60k or higher and thats as much as ill go through for that. Quitting a job is difficult. Goodluck man.

It's only SLIGHTLY ironic that K Mart comes up a lot on these vids. It was actually a good place to work...Except for the CUSTOMERS. Not sure where you live, but if you’re in the us they have emergency housing vouchers for hotels and motels. There’s also rental assistance who will pay your rent if you can’t pay it. Usually state/government websites have info on who to call. If those aren’t options, if you can afford it, get a gym membership. There’s a place to park your car, showers, a temperature controlled environment. If you can also afford it, I recommend a Costco membership. Hella free samples, and they sell gigantic hotdogs for like $1.50 Amazon hires on the spot online, and a lot of them allow you to withdraw your paycheck early. You can cash out after every shift. @@andrewvillatoro4605 all the crazy shit just melts together, ive seen it all but its the good people or those struggling that i got to know that really stuck with me. the kids who would talk to me while their parents were in the liquor store buying alcohol telling me about all the abuse in their homes was a Soul killer. one boy asked me if i had kids and i told him i did. He then asked if I drink in front of my kids and I told him no, my kids have never seen me drunk and he patted me on the shoulder and told me (i wish you were my dad).

Ever since I've watched his middle school video it was in Feb 2021 and I started watching all of his videos and most of them made me laugh so hard I made my stomach hurt

My dad does Uber for some extra money, and one time this dude drops a blunt in the car and his car smelled like weed for a good 3 weeks. Unfortunately when we first notice the smell we couldn't figure out where it was until my hand touched it while looking under the car seats. Still grosses me out to this day

If you're serious about the stink, just get an ozone generator - plug it in, turn it on, leave it in the car for a few hours, bam! no more stink. Buddy at work uses one to de-stinkify the work trucks due to all the fish plants we work at and dead critters we deal with. Good stuff. Your car will stink like ozone for a few days (think old giant photocopier smell), but that wears off.

That's also one of the reasons I pretty much stopped doing uber eats. Especially when people order from seafood style restaurants. Stinks everything up bad. That and when you keep getting fares that are on the other side of town from where you are and where you live, and if you take it, then you keep getting further and further away ones, and suddenly it's like an hour drive just to get home.
