It is really good for dogs to lay down like that in the beginning, a lot of big dogs get hip problems but laying like he does is really good for their hip flexors. My golden doodle does it too

Glad it was nothing too serious. I was listening to a Joe Rogan video not too long ago where he talked about one of his friends telling him a story where a guy brought his Pitbull in covered in its own blood. It got ambushed by nine coyotes. They know it was nine, because the owner followed the blood trail behind his house and found nine dead coyotes. The dog was covered from head to toe in wounds. That dog is as tough as it is lucky. Dogs have died being ambushed by coyotes.

I hope we get more Otis stories in the Future.

as a pet parent to a dog & a cat, can relate to the vet drama & expense, the alarm & concern when said pet presents with a mystery injury, and the dynamic between a coddling caregiver & borderline neurotic fur baby. Gotta love those fur-bearing creatures, even when they are being a pain in the ass trying to smuggle crap into the house, or carrion, what have you.
