That shop had elevated prices but a pretty good selection. I'm seeing Sazerac products really increase in availability and I'm seeing fewer and fewer bottle hunters when I go shopping. I think people went REAL hard in 2022 and 2023 and now they are broke or they are bored. Either way, it's great for me. I'm able to pretty much find everything I want at reasonable prices - and the prices seem to come down every week. EHT was always 80 in my area.. then 70... now 60. I don't care for EHT but I bought 3 last week for $60 each because I have friends who wanted me to grab them. I finally found a 107 (it was a store pick) for around 100. I'm the kind of guy who really doesn't want to pay above retail on anything. After 18 months of hunting dozens of hours per month I just gave up on a couple bottles. When I have the chance to buy a 107 for 100 and I don't have one I'm just going to do it. Ideally they just start distributing more than 1 case per store per year in my area.

Great selection at this store! I can only find half or 2/3 of those good bottles within driving distance from me. But prices at that store are consistently 40% more than what I see. But if you really want it... you can get it. I do have a Kentucky Spirit single barrel 101 proof, it is a nice honey barrel, very refined and sweet, but not as full flavored as Wild Turkey. If you like WT101, I think you may not like the Kentucky Spirit as much. My theory is that the KS barrels are sorted out of the WT barrels because they are too light for the hearty WT profile. FYI, I have seen JDSBBP Rye at $60-$65 in multiple locations in Texas all year long. You are getting screwwwwwed on not having that available in your location! Also, if you see a Silver Springs Sweet Rye, buy it. Cask strength rye at $40-$45 and worth double that. My next grab will be 1792 Full Proof, saw them for $49 and can't pass that up.

You are lucky to have Stagg just sitting on the shelf. In NorCal, those are tucked away or way out of reach. Still hoping to get one at SRP one day. Great find on the JD SBBP Rye. I hear good things and will try it.

I really enjoy Breckinridge bourbon, they have a lot of decent options. I recommend the High Proof or Port Cask. The distillery is a very fun place to visit in the winter👍

On the Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, watch for the warehouse designation CN. It’s for Camp Nelson where Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse is aged. Supposed to be really good.

I was looking for that JD rye single barrel barrel proof as well. Recently got one for $64.99 in upstate NY. Happy I found it, I’ve already got a few JD single barrel barrel proof bourbon bottles. I hear nothing but good things.

Congrats on the JD SBBP Rye. Those are absolutely killer bottles. If you ask me, they are better than almost every other rye on the market.

I'll agree, the Old Dominick Cask Strength is pretty good. The bonded and regular bottles aren't very good though.

Michter's small batch bourbon is excellent! I really hope Michter's starts making single barrel bourbon more available. It doesn't have to be barrel strength or toasted, just give us regularly available single barrel bourbon! If you see Green River Full Proof pick it up! That Stagg was batch 18. A pretty good batch but $250 is way way way too much! Batch 18 is hovering around $165-200 on the secondary currently. These ridiculous valuations are slowly coming down to reality. Best thing to do is not participate and funnel money into an unfair and scrupulous practice. The Kentucky Spirit single barrels have been pretty popular. Especially since Bourbon Junkies dropped that video telling people to look for the Camp Nelson marked ones. You made a good purchase on the JD SBBP Rye! I'm proud of you for the self control glossing over Eagle Rare, Weller, Buffalo Trace and you didn't give much attention to the Stagg. It's not that they aren't good bourbons, they're very good! They are definitely not so good as to justify the ridiculous mark ups on them. The insanity of the secondary market has warped retail prices to start ratcheting upwards and never coming back down. Ratcheting price inflation is something that occurs with many consumer products. Example, Van Winkle. Very limited production with extremely high demand. The MSRP on the 23 Year is currently $450, up from roughly $150 pre-covid. Eventually it will likely priced up again and so even if you are lucky enough to get one at retail you are still getting screwed! Another example was Wild Turkey raising their prices and everybody went up in arms about it. Well, when you have secondary shenanigans going on the distilleries and distributors see dollar signs that are not entering their revenue streams. Whoever thinks they aren't going to try and tap into that is out of their mind!

Picked up a JD SBBP RYE store pick in St. Louis $71.99 my first havent opened yet. Get video, Brewzle is great for education as im a new bourbon drinker. A few bottles you talked about ard on my list to buy.

It time to try Hooten and Young 12 year. It has opened up over the past 2 months beautifully and has a strong noted of amazing caramel popcorn. This is worth getting a lot of recognition.

I have a policy that if I go in a store I buy a bottle. I really don't understand these channels that go on film and don't buy something. If I owned a store I wouldn't let someone just showcase it without a purchase. Willett is not terrible but it is a bottle I wouldn't buy unless a guest is coming over and likes it. This store has a very nice selection and the prices are fairly good.

That's a great store! Much of what they have on the shelf would be behind the counter anywhere around me and for MUCH bigger markups.

Crazy that 1792 BiB more expensive than the Full Proof. Luckily, in Texas, the Bib and FP drop at least once a month for 40(BiB) and 50(FP) bucks at most chain stores. The 1792 FP is a monster for $50.

Good choice 👍 JD SiB BP Rye is the probably best rye I've had for under 100 bucks. One of the few bottles I rushed to get a backup for and have zero regrets from doing so.

Nice to see some of those hard to find bottles on the shelf, but $250 for Stagg? I have 11 bottles of Stagg / Stagg Jr, and have paid $60-$75 for most of them. The most I have paid for a Stagg is $125.

I have the Stellum Equinox blend #1. 117 proof. It is very very good. I believe I paid around 60-70 for it. That bottle in the video I believe is the small batch which I haven’t had but I would certainly buy it if I saw it based on my current bottle of theirs. Also, that Jack Rye you got is one of my favorites. Luckily here in central Texas it is pretty easy to find.

I've bought several bottles of the Chattanooga 111 proof. Recently bought the the Founders and it's a little too malty for me. Won't be replacing it. Coopers 100 proof is a great bottle! Yeah, I'm not a rye fan, but LOVE the JD SB BP Tennessee Whiskey.

My man, gotta come to memphis and check out these stores, some of my favorite bourbon spots for variety are Germantown Village on poplar had a great store pick of 1792 Full proof for fifty bucks. Yorkshire Liquors and Pyramid Wine and Spirits are both nice too. I’ve got my honey holes I don’t tell even my buddies about but these are all solid stores that have good bottles at fair prices.

Try the high west finished series. The Cabernet Sauvignon one is excellent imo if you like Cabernet. I was searching for that JD SBBP Rye and couldn’t fond it in Massachusetts. Went up to Maine one day and randomly found it at a hole in the wall store for $69.99. Grabbed 4 😂😂😂😂

That Michters is delicious! I haven’t tried any of the other labels. I was not a fan of the Angels Envy. No flavor just hot lol. Blade and Bow ( under the Saint Nick) is good. It reminds me of Blantons.

I think the Woodford lineup, including the rye, is tough to beat. I am currently working on a bottle of 1791 BIB, which is difficult to find. My current price point is $70, so I have not tried any of the expensive stuff. Here in Green Bay, the allocated bottles are reserved for the players and coaches.
