Briahna Gatlin is the founder of Swank PR, a Chicago-based public relations, marketing and events company. Gatlin entered into entrepreneurship unexpectedly, as she faced unemployment as a grant writer due to the 2008 recession. Thus, Swank PR was born. She did not want to name her company after herself and felt “Swank” embodied femininity with a touch of coolness - a name which resonates with Gatlin and her clients. She sat down with Vocalo host Bekoe to share her journey from grant writer to award-winning entrepreneur, the changing landscape of PR and the importance of authenticity in today's digital age.
