I have a Binger 8606 (in blue), and so far it is a great watch. It actually runs slightly fast which I don't mind. I took it off of the ugly bracelet and put it on a gray silicone strap. To answer your question on the second balance wheel being connected.....yes it is. I saw another video in which a mechanic took it completely apart. I noticed that both wheels had gears to them.

cool, thanks for sharing your experience. The second balance has gears but I don’t believe it’s interacting with the main timekeeping side of things. could be wrong but I’d be surprised.

Thanks for that video, I thought I was OCD about my watches .. if I had bought that Reef Tiger I would have sold it on or binned it, those imperfections would have bugged me too much.

The Reef Tiger was promptly returned, as the imperfections were many and the Binger a better "stand-in" all around.

Binger claims that they use Sapphire crystal for the glass. I'm sceptical... Is that true? Is it scratch resistant?

Hi Dan. Binger says Sapphire several times in info, but it is not sapphire. I show this in another video in the series (this will take you to the 10-minute mark where I show and discuss this exact point): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E20-pmmdPKQ.html

This is a great analysis of these watches 👍 What’s your take on Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope watches? They’re stunning but are they worth the money?

Hello. I have looked at them a little bit, but never handled one, so I don't want to give any sort of definitive answer. If you are into the the Bauhaus look, then they're a good option to consider on the secondary market. Given what they go for at resale, I wouldn't be paying full price for one.

Not sure which watch in the video you're referring to, but there are amazon links to both in the video description.

I really like your videos, but these watches are nightmare... Cheap chinese non-functional imitation of high horology pieces.

Hi! and thanks for watching. Of course they are a nightmare...well the Reef Tiger was for sure, but to be honest I kinda do like the Binger for what it is. They are cheap, but I will say the Binger is quite functional. It's not a long-term sort of thing and not something I would recommend to someone unless they knew what they were getting into in terms of watches (who am I to say what people should like?). The point of this was exactly that...to find a cheap (functional) stand-in for my grail for less than $100. If you hold tight I'll have a GS review for you in a few weeks if you want something higher quality ;)

@@WatchComplications Well Binger at least has real balance wheels :) I don't intend to say that "cheap" watches are bad. Of course I prefer high-end watches (who doesn't?), I have in my set 2 Rolex and Glashutte Original. But I also have Oris, Seiko Turtle and even Swatch. I love them all, they are quite unique in their own way and don't pretend to be something more. Armin Strom is extremely complicated amazing watch with ultimate hand finishing, I can't imagine how is it possible to replace it with something less. Sure I would like to see GS review! I really enjoy your macro videos. P. S. Thank you so much for your dials making series. That's top content indeed, I was searching info about dial making and you are the first person who made such a good explanation.

Glad you're enjoying the content, truly. Sounds like you have a wonderful and adequate collection. I have some low-cost watches, and I do like exploring them so people understand what is what and also there is some good value to be found (such as Casio). This series is just a fun experiment and nothing is going to compare with the Armin Strom, but if I'm going to wait for a long time, might as well have fun, I say! I cannot wait to do the review of the GS (spring drive and GMT...yay!) The macro lens on that will look incredible, I'm sure. Look for that review in September. Nice to hear you are also enjoying the dials series. More videos are coming on that as well, as I have about finished the next custom build for a client, which has some very distinct features. I've hinted at it on the website, but I look forward to discussing the whole process on the channel. Thanks again for watching.
