@@christianlewis6252 santana went quite experimental in 80´s. after their best works so there are same elements but this auger likely did it more on purpose like zappa, in case he ever had any plans for his songs haha.

The keys of Brian drive the Latin rhythm/funk/soul that dominate the sound. Don't laugh, Wiz, but here and there I heard the keys of Stevie Wonder. SW"s 1973 album Innervisions was hot. This album was released in "73, the same year, so that's why I drew that comparison, but overall, Santana is the vibe I get. Track #5, ""Inner City Blues" is a cover of Marvin Gaye's hit 1971. The last track is like the band MALO, Carlos Santana's brother"s band. They had the 1972 hit, "Suavecito" T E, back in the early 70s, besides all kinds of rock-n-roll on the radio, there was a lot of soul music, well, at least up here, that is. Man, I used to watch Don Cornelius and Soul Train. 🚂 It was the soul version of Dick Clark's, American Bandstand. His parting words after each show were, "we wish you love, peace and soul" My parting words to you are, "live long and prosper" and those are the words of Mr. Spock from Star Trek. 🖖

Amigo, so you're into some soul music and that's great. I got familiar with Soul Train in late 70's but didn't remember until your comment that Don C. Closed the show with those words (Pretty Cool) I think I was watching reruns late at night on weekends. Also nice review 👍 of this album that seems to be the concenus on the Santana vibe. Cheers - 25 or 6 to 4. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🌵
