I really love how in the beginning it's so cheerful then it gets calm and kinda sad at water. Earth is just hectic and fire is an amazing ending to all the emotions you feel after 4 different songs

Played this at 14 my freshman year, now I’m a 19 year old music major still jamming to this lol

As an oboe player, I love the oboe solo in air.

Earth sounds so much like Mercury from the Planets suite.

Played this today, only had 2 days for the whole band to learn it and it sounded down right awesome

This is such a great composer! The best part is, unlike most great artists of music, is he hasn't died yet. :-D

I played the piano part for my concert band senior year. 'twas the only time in all 4 years i got to play piano on stage for the band and it's the performance i remember most fondly. Love this piece and the memory it gave me.

I like that the tom drums make the fire movement sound like a stampede of animals

What made me laugh while I was listening to this was that I kinda new what it would sound like

This song is my favorite of anything I played in band, what's even better is that I moved from the school I played it at and I actually got to meet Mr. Balmages at the school I went to after we moved! I play tuba, so the intro to fire is the most exhilarating thing ive ever played

I have trombone 1, and water is my absolute favorite piece I've ever played. That build up is just so beautiful.

Ok this might be true but in fire you can hear the melody of air in the background. This could be because air is what sustains fire. The more h20 the stronger the fire will be and vice versa

My high schools Symphonic Band played this, it was a really fun experience as the guest middle school band

One moment I'm proud to be the only hornist in my band is at 55 in fire! So pretty! Also not sure if anyone else noticed, but towards the end of fire also, the opening for air is being played by the percussion section.
