Ok is no one gonna talk about the body dysmorphia confession? The fucking balls he had to say that as an older man especially. I noticed what I think is an edit in the show right after Steven compliments him and he reacts. The fact that he kept what he did in the aired edit means a lot to me and my relatives who deal with slight to severe dysmorphia. Idk. That's Brian cox for ya.

Brian deserves much more praise and recognition for being the OG Hannibal Lecter in Michael Mann’s brilliant _Manhunter._ Anthony Hopkins was obviously phenomenal in the role and has come to define it in people’s minds, but Cox paved the way with his unsettlingly clammy, nuanced performance. A totally different interpretation and arguably more chilling.

Also very underrated was his voice performance as the top villain and snuff director/producer directing the player during the whole game in the controversial Manhunter game. I never played that game with a headset, but it had a feature to just playback the directors lines via the headset separated from the normal game audio and music just like he is instructing you via the earpiece. Just imagine having his lines of encouragement to kill and step up the violence via audio feed straight into your ear. I saw this in a Canada cinema in the 80s what a movie Michael Mann amazing Manhunter .Hopkins over acted the whole role Cox was scary as fuck plus the best ending with Iron Butterfly was the best what a movie slightly dated maybe .Love Brian Cox too long to get recognition

Hearing on older gentleman say he has body dysmorphia so openly is why having the words to express how we feel is so important. It helps others to understand and hopefully learn from each others struggles a lot better.

First Brian Cox film that I ever remember watching was "The Long Kiss Goodnight" with Geena Davis and Samuel L Jackson. Small role but I liked him. He was had a nice small role in Braveheart as Argyle the uncle. "We shall remedy that, won't we?"

If you haven’t already, you should check out Manhunter. He was the original Hannibal Lecter. His nuanced creepy performance is more subtle than Hopkins’ and chilling in a different way.
