We made our way out to the Nitro Rallycross event at the ERX Motor Park to go spin some laps in the ‪@CANAMOFFROAD‬! Excited to get some more seat time, especially when racing familiar faces! Overall, was a rad time racing, and also learned a life lesson- DON'T lose your wallet when traveling!!

The advice he gave the 13 yr old is some great advice. Both about going ahead and writing the essay and to not be shy about walking up to potential sponsors and shaking their hand and giving them 30 seconds of who you are and what you're about.

Times are changing also, so it is a great idea to tell any potential sponsor that you are home schooled. They will know the difference. :)

Hey Ben, while Travis and Brian were battling each other on the track it was pretty cool to watch you give them both a 2-for-1 special and win that race. That's a good reminder to them. While they were fighting their battle - you showed them that winning the war (winning the race) was more important. Congrats Ben! Wishing you and your family much success in your coming years... Spot on Bryan with the 13 year old. Make sure to explain the hand shake with them. Dont go in with a limpy hand. Go in aggressive with a hand shake. Tells a lot about a person. One of the first lessons I taught my kids. Yes sir, no sir, yes mam, no mam. Respect goes a long ways.

The best thing was to see you and Travis talking because all I remember is how much the metal militia hated Travis when he was just a dorky kid flying around on his bike so it’s great to see the you guys have a trade and can you trade stories where you did it warmed my heart.

I have that same exact wallet. The day before my 22nd birthday I totaled my streetbike going 90. My body was thrown into the woods and my pants were ripped to shreads and my wallet was out of my pocket. Gone. I went back a week later looking for it thinking there’s no way I’ll find it. And I did. The black Louis Vuitton wallet is officially lucky!!

I have several wallet stories just like that. Left my wallet at a gas station payphone back in the 90s...drove 20 miles before I realized it was missing..turned around ..drove back 20 miles and I could actually see it laying in the parking lot as I was coming down the street! Such a relief!

Got to meet you at ERX when you were racing trucks, it was a few years ago now, it was when the Grandstands blew over. Would LOVE to see you back in an RallyX car. Watching you and Travis chop it up and talk about the stages of life was inspirational. who you are for you kids is SO different than the leader on Metal Mulisha i remember from the late 90s

This is why brian and travis is so respected and why i have so much respect for both of them and i also try to parent my 3 kids after brian because he grinds and works his ass off 24/7 and plays just as hard as he works and still is there for his kids. Dude that is the Absolute WORST feeling to lose a card much less you’re wallet! Omg I hate it when I make bone head moves like that just because I pride myself on keeping stuff organized. Funny. I was talking with Brad Strunk the other day. He was sleeping in his gray van at 17 years old racing when we met him and took him in. I said he should have tried freestyle with you guys, he was balls out everytime he threw his leg over a bike. He said at the time he didn't think freestyle would amount to making any money and stuck with MX. The late nineties and the 2000's were a changing time in the progression of riding "dirt" bikes.

Dude,back in 1985 I had a 1984 Honda 200x and went for a ride solo in an area that you weren’t really supposed to ride. I found my way to the end of Palm avenue. In San Diego. I rode my three wheeler down the road a bit to a McDonalds,literally parked it in front next to some BMX bikes,went in to get a burger and realized I’d lost my wallet. I back tracked for over an hour and found my wallet laying on the trail. I couldn’t believe I had found it.especially for type of foot traffic that was in that area on a daily bases. If you know what I’m talking about,you know. I was about 3 miles from the border. Miss that Honda 200x,great trike.

I hope that kid still writes the essay and takes deegans advice to heart because that was some solid advice and he knows all about factory sponsored racing and what it takes.
