What's really sad is they weren't even talking about Brian's book in the beginning, but once Brian tried to make the conversation about himself it backfires and they're roasting him the rest of the show.
I just noticed that Brian doesn't really respond to their questions about his book. He just waves excuses and pettily insults them, then switches sides when it becomes clear they don't like it. Even his last question is less of a response to his book's weaknesses, and more along the lines of, "what opinion do you want me to take so I can remain in the right?"
Brian actually deserved to be humiliated by Bill and his co stars after being a total jerk to Stewie when all he did was try to help him. Without him, Brian was nothing on his own.
The funny part is, it is actually true Most of such "self developing" or "self motivating" books r bull shit and a bunch of nice words which does not necessarily help people to motivate themselves or to help them develop
To think that is stupid because you have a book 12 rules for life from dr. Jordan Peterson who is considered to be one of the best psychologists in the world.
I wonder how they shot this scene, if they just had Brian's responses on a teleprompter for them to read, or if Seth actually recorded it with them and gave his responses in real time so they could hear "Brian" actually talking back to them, so that their responses would sound more natural.
I find it extremely hilarious that no matter how hard Brian tried to defend his book or even himself trying to be a writer, he gets incredibly smaller and quickly runs out of options- Maher, Huffington, and Gould, certainly nailed him, for sure! And like Stewie said to Brian, at the end of this episode....."You can't write."
Brian pretended to dislike something just to get the approval of someone he though was cool...what, is he in middle school? No wonder Bill lost all respect for him. Edit: He didn't pretend, he meant it.
"Listen Bill, I am such a big fan of yours, I think you're totally getting the wrong impression of me. I was just trying to write something that would sell, I, I think it's crap too!" I think that if Brian had said all of that sarcastically, Bill might have respected him more, not less.
*Peter:* ( _watching at home_ ) Aww man, this is going even worse than when _I_ went on Bill’s show! I do wonder if Bill or the dog are more stupid, though...
He was pointing out that the title is so generic, it appeals to everyone, yet it wouldn't help someone with cancer. Someone with cancer may look at the title and perceive it as overcoming hardships, like wanting to live a normal life after a devastating disease, and they'll buy it for that reason. The fact the title is so general misleads a lot of desperate people. Like Bill said, it's popular, but it's not good.
The are so many counter-arguments Brian could have made: - Comparing a $50-100 max book to “legitimate healthcare” - well, that doesn’t seem to be a valid comparison in terms of the cost - Damaging, harmful - well, “damage” and “harm” are strong words, too…How does a book like this harm or damage someone with cancer or in Darfur? - Sometimes people need a quick fix even if it’s not really a fix, but more like a mental placebo that can help a given person overcome some smaller personal/professional/emotional issue that does not necessarily need a complex, comprehensive solution.
how much of that was scripted? I mean sure, the voice actor of Brian would need a base to begin his smug arguments but I belive that most of it was animated after they record the conversation in 1 take and no heads up so it could be like his show
What if,before they animated brian in his place they actually had Seth in the chair saying the lines in the voice so they could have a easier time acting esponding too it. Cross....animation.....
Brian is at his worst when he has a little bit of success which shows that he isn't as good of any being as tried to make himself out to b. What makes it worse is how he treats poor stewie, all he did was try to help him and brian decided to b a complete ass and b incredibly mean. Brian got what he deserved as far as i can see. And he calls himself apologizing to stewie at the end but he cant even admit his own faults. Shows he's really no better than even lois' dad. Using people and then tossing them aside.
An arrogant atheist meets another arrogant atheist...n they both think they can one up each other. Love how Brian got let down...he was so effin confident he will nail it with his atheism...
"Brian Writes a Bestseller" follows anthropomorphic dog Brian after he publishes a self-help book that becomes an immediate success, following the failure of his novel, Faster Than the Speed of Love.
Brian deserve it because he yelled Stewie Griffin all he do to help Brian for the book and his respect and now he said he didn't want a help he's a idiot, selfish, disappointed and he didn't care about his family to publish a book
No, @lukeyannuzzi7469! "Wish It Want It Do It" by Brian Griffin was not "the best-selling book of all-time". It was "the worst-selling book of all-time". So, Brian deserves to be blamed by Bill Maher, and Arianna Huffington, and Dana Gould! So, Do Not tell them to shut up and to leave Brian alone!
