He also ruined it. It worked because he was a fantastic singer and Tony was a fantastic writer. The second Brian wanted to change that he destroyed it.....
To be fair I don't think you're the one to be given someone advice on their musical careers I mean you were only famous for a few year almost 30 years ago because of the songs Tony wrote your solo career has been non-existent

East 17 was fucked the day Brian, Terry and John took the band to Butlins. I'm sorry, I was a huge fan, that band was on the same level as Take That popularity wise, and they've downgraded themselves to a sub par forgotten 90s boyband and they are so much more than that...and whose to blame for allowing Terry to continue the band. It should have ended and never came back instead of selling itself away into nothing. It's annoying it's come to this

People don’t seem to understand, East 17 was a winning formula. Tony Mortimers song writing and musical talent, Brian’s soulful powerful and gentle vocals, the style and image of the whole band, together created something special. Brian’s voice and frontman’s performance was a key, and critical component of the winning formula. Take Brian out, the formula doesn’t work. The new lineup is just an abortion, and an insult too peoples sense of taste and intelligence. It would be truly amazing if the original guys came back together with the best they all could deliver.
Terry went round to Brian's house to tell him he's joining this bloke Tony's band. That's when Brian asked if he could join as well. Imagine if Terry had gone to the pub instead. We wouldn't be here today.
Not if he can't be arsed to turn up on time, and especially not if he can't leave his attitude at home. He just can't get his head around the fact that he is literally just a "has been" these days. His head is just living in the past. It's just the truth.

It's really sad to watch but he had the fame, The voice and was a good looking guy in his day and he Fu#KED it glamourising drugs to their teenage fan base.. No one to blame but himself and it still seems hes learned not to keep his mouth shut.. The chances of a boybamd making it is like odds of winning lottery instead of being so bitter cos the other's are doing better he should be thankful he even had that life back then.
