Sir Brian May wrote this for himself but once Freddie Mercury sang it they decided to record it as a Queen song. Which is also a great video to watch, Freddie was extremely sick by then but the guys were extremely close and had a lot of fun together making it. Love your reactions.

Fun Fact: Brian May built the guitar himself with the help from his dad back in the early 70s around the time when his band Queen was formed and instead of using a pick to play it he uses an old English coin
The Red Special or "Old Lady" was long completed before Queen was formed, and he still plays it today. Dr Brian May (his PhD is in astrophysics) is easily in the top 10 guitarists we have ever seen. How many people have ever played the National Anthem for a royal event from the rooftop of Buckingham Palace?

@@ProjectMetalMusic It was as a teenager before going to college that the old lady was built. The tremolo system is a kitchen knife edge balancing the bridge and sprung with old BSA valve springs, and the arm a bent knitting needle. Some of the wood came from a fireplace his parents pulled out in a remodel and which was over 100 years old. The body is partially hollow and despite many attempts, they've never been able to reproduce it exactly in feel or tone, although he does have the best replica possible as a backup, and there are licenced copies. I reckon someone is going to have to season some wood over a well-used fireplace for 100 years to get that sound!
As Brian aka Dr. May Ph.D. built his guitar, John "Deacy" Deacon, bassist built an amp for Brian. It is a Deacy Amp. There was an electronics company once built these amps according John's schematics.
Dr Brian May is the guitarist out of Queen (We Will Rock You), this is one of my fav Queen songs and fav concerts to watch. You should totally check out the next song it was going in to from the same concert "Tie Your Mother Down", another Queen classic and both of these were written by Brian! Great reaction guys!! You are into rock and metal and don't recognise Brian and Cozy? Dr Brian May, the man who formed Queen, effectively invented thrash metal 10 years before anyone else (stone cold crazy with Queen) And Cozy Powell drummer with Black Sabbath and Rainbow.
Saw this tour when they came to Dallas. It’s still one of my favorite concerts I’ve ever been to. When Brian played Love of my Life, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.

(I knew there was a version w Brian singing lead instead of Freddie, but I hadn't heard it.) The original Queen version is AWESOME as well... one of my FAV Queen songs! (Not as many people are familiar w it, I don't think, because it's from Queen's later era when they weren't performing live anymore.)
You guys should listen to Queen, if you haven't. Brian is lead guitar in the band. They put on some of the best live performances ever. I'm guessing you are aware, it would be great to see you react to their music. Especially live performances, .
Reason for those hot ladies (backup singers) for slaying is they are working for one of Rock Icon, Brian May of Queen. I believed when Queen taking a break from touring (Freddie) and recording. Brain done some solo stuff such as this song. Cozy Powell, drummer played for a number of bands who are inducted in Rock Hall such as Black Sabbath and here for Brian May of Queen.
I might have to check but I think Freddie was dead when Brian did a solo album. He was definitely dead in 1993 when Brian did his version of this Queen song (I think this is on The Miracle).
@@phoneboxchicken4108 Brian, and also Queen drummer Roger Taylor, both did solo stuff in the mid 1980s while still with Queen (I'm not familiar with what they did tho) ...I only know that, cuz Freddie talked about it in 1985 in interviews about his solo album (The media was making a big fuss like "Freddie's breaking up Queen!" and he was saying "That's silly, Brian & Roger have already done their own solo projects before this.")
