I am left handed the the current ones in the market are all right handed. This will help me to make mine. Thank you for the video 👍🏼

I wonder about the original tremolo arm from mid 60's. It looked like the tremolo arm went directly to the rocker and the thread wore out, I assume, that's why they added the brass bushing.

Good point, I haven't considered this.

Love your videos. I've just finished up making a "tribute" trem arm for my BM-75 so whilst not totally acurate in most ways, I enjoyed tinkering. Made it with an M6 thread so it fits both my BM-75 and my HB ST-59hm. Had to use a diy drill mostly for it so it was "fun" trying to cut and shape a brass bar stock.

Thanks. 🙏🏻 😀 It's always interesting to hear how DIY enthusiasts circumvent the challenges of not being able to use specialist tools and equipment to achieve satisfactory results.

Was the brazing straight forward as the one I made I did it threaded but it's just come loose

Brazing is challenging to execute neatly and you will need gas welding equipment. Apply some threadlock adhesive to your threaded joint and it should be o.k.

7:35 no you shouldn't. don't wear gloves when using a drill or a lathe because gloves get caught resulting in all sorts of damage to fingers.

I would like to reassure people taking the time to read this that I have worked within industrial and nuclear safety fields for 25 years and hold a NEBOSH general certificate in workplace health and safety. My recommendation was based on the judgement that in this specific situation, the risk of being cut by the diamond coated disc is outweighed by the risk of more significant injury caused by being drawn into the rotating machinery. Further, this mini drill press is a low torque machine which readily stalls if a load spike occurs. Risk assessments and recommendations to wear or not wear personal protective equipment should always be appropriate to the specific task being undertaken.

No you should not be wearing gloves for that! It's extremely dangerous to wear gloves when operating any kind of machinery be it a drill press, bandsaw, table saw, lathe or mill. It may seem safer but it's really not, if the glove were to make contact it could get bound up and it would pull your hand further into the machine and you wouldn't be able to stop it from happening, which would shred you. With bare hands yes you'll still get injured but you'll at least be able to pull your hands away from the machine before it could cause serious injury. 👍👍

This is good general advice, thank you for explaining in detail. 👍🏻😀 I would like to reassure people taking the time to read this that I have worked within industrial and nuclear safety fields for 25 years and hold a NEBOSH general certificate in workplace health and safety.
