Brian McLaren Helps Us Find Courage for a World That Is Falling Apart 

Thanks, Gentlemen. So much of what you shared resonates with me. I began to drift from my strict Catholic upbringing very early. I simply could not accept the idea of limbo -- a place where unbaptized babies were kept from Heaven through no fault of their own. I knew on a very deep level (in first grade!) that this was untrue; a loving God would never permit this. Now at the age of 61, I must reject all systems of religion that ascribe human limitations to God's love. God is not created in our image -- we are created in the image of God. Any attempt to limit God to fit our human egoic ideas is simply a false path. I will read the book. I definitely feel ready to consider these topics. Thanks for a great discussion.

I thought about reading this book, but I will have to pass. Their discussion about Chapter 2 signaled a warning in me that said to stay away as I have enough deep concerns right now about the state of the world. Equipping my psyche with more factual evidence of impending doom is not a task I can take on right now. Life as an Enneagram 2 is never easy…
