I just don't understand how it's so surprising to these guys that supposedly follow the team. It hasn't surprised me since following them from spring camp.

Because its a tough schedule. Anyone should be surprised to beat two very good teams in a row. Its not that they thought the team would be bad but its hard to win football games in the NFL.

prove that you had them 3-0. If you listened to the show, I picked them to win 2 of the first 3 and have a winning record at the end of the season. I reported that Darnold's chemistry with Jefferson was great in camp and that the defense was looking awesome in joint practices. I was higher on this team than Vegas by 2.5 games.

@PurpleInsider Chill out. No need to call out a fan that questions how a supposed insider is surprised the Vikings are a good team. We knew the defense was good, we new about the weapons, we knew about the coaching. OP isn't saying you should have expected it, but you also shouldn't be surprised by it.

Thing is whe your avg depth of throw is over 10 yards you can throw 2 or 3 away depending on where you are, and say ill get it on the next one. Darnold playing calm and smart

I've been rooting for this team since the 60's. I've gone all in and been heart broken so many times that I just can't do it again. I call it cautious optimism for this season. And it's been a fun, less stressful season so far. But in the back of my mind, that shoe is hanging!

Darnold won the fan base over already with his arm already with the throws he's made. The ovation didn't come from a stadium of people who want McCarthy, but from a crowd that knows how special and fun this year could be including McCarthy. We all knew he was going to sit the year. People were just afraid of numbers on a page or word to mouth. We are just lucky that (as a wise man said). " Darnolds good at football." Lol

Being able to kick a field goal from the 40 also takes a lot of pressure off a Q.B I would imagine .* Darnold isn't riding shotgun though, he's driving, and it didn't take him two years to take the wheel .

I remember when the 1970's Viking teams had a 9-0 start and another year a 10-0 start. This 3-0 start is great because it wasn't expected by many many people but not for me. I always give them an eye test in the beginning and watch out football fans this team is for real.

Cynic? Nope, just a very old Viking fan for 50 years... I was ten when I started watching them. However, maybe, just maybe this might be the year!!! I will always hope for the purple.

In same boat. Moved away from MN in the 80's but always have been a Vike fan. Maybe not this year, but I like the direction this team is going. I see the window is opening now for the next few years. Cap room begins after this season.

They beat Drew Brees and Matthew Stafford twice, Matt Ryan, Kirk, Flacco, held the No. 1 offense in LA to 7 points... not sure you're being accurate there

Not are defense they should be worried about, its their's and our offense. Runningit 55 times helps with time keep it out of our hands, but Brian won't let that peewee ball fly

Really... i don't think anyone sees him as a wounded bird that needs healing. He was in bad situations and is even today learning doing his job and persevering. Look who he has played for. You think Kyle Shanahan coddled him heck no. We got him from the 49'ers not a halfway house. Lol

I am a VIKING fan since 1970. I DON'T want to ruin everyone's party, but here are the facts. The Minnesota Vikings have started their season 3 and 0, on nine other occasions. 7 out of the 9 times we went to the playoffs/super bowl. That is the GOOD news. The BAD news is: 5 of those times we LOST in the playoffs, and 2 LOSSES in the Super Bowl!!!
