John Duggan is absolutely incredible at his job. Insightful questions, enough knowledge to always move the conversation in an interesting direction and crucially not afraid to wait and let the guest speak. Class.

I was there for BoDs hattrick in Paris. I've lived in France now for 25 years. In the Stade de France was surrounded by French friends from Vincennes (really low level rugby but great friends!) rugby club who fully expected France would massacre Ireland. BoD did his thing and I had a great day! I'm still living in France. Thanks BoD! Always wanted to say that.

great stuff...BOD ...humble as always...I like Duggan too...doesn't hog the time, and questions are short and to the point.

How BOD never won world player of the year during his career I'll never understand. What a wonderful player.

Basically because Ireland were unable to put enough players of sufficient calibre around him, to allow him to shine on the biggest stages.

@@Formakiwi The awards tended to go to teams who are winning on a world level. Same as VDF getting the recent award.

@Formakiwi More of the same, laughable nonsense from you, as usual - he was in plenty of winning teams and always delivered when it really counted; the very personification of a big game player. And was considered such a danger by NZ when captaining the ill-fated '05 Lions team, that those utter grubs, Umaga and Mealamu, deliberately assaulted him out of the first test, as soon as it started. Was absolutely robbed of WRPOTY in 2009, losing by a point to Saint Richie (whose Crusaders team lost in the Super Rugby SF, with NZ finishing second in the Tri Nations to SA, while also losing their No.1 world ranking to them too; in total losing four matches that year, their WORST season since his debut) when he was Player of the Tournament in the 6N and top try scorer in BOTH competitions, when winning a Grand Slam with Ireland AND the Heineken Cup with Leinster. No-one else came anywhere near being as successful or influential that year. Not even close! He was clearly the best player in the world in his position for the large part of a decade and was easily in the top 3 overall for many of those years too. An utter travesty that he didn't win it, at least once. Much like your risible drivel comment above.

What a punter BOD is, when he talks about some "plays" you already feel as if you are on the pitch with him, accurate & oratorically 'up & above' the rest, reminds me 1 to 1 of his playing career. Iconic lad the BOD, looks fit (as if he could still be in the squad) seems to have it all....♻

I was driving home from work along the M50 in a really NOISY old car, I had the radio switched off in case I got wind of the score , all I wanted was to get home and watch the match (Recorded). I heard an unmerciful roar as I passed over the flyover at Ballymun. I knew that roar, I felt that Roar, I still get teary thinking about that Roar. The 'Paulie Rising' poster from the Irish Times is still on my son's bedroom wall because it's shaded from the sun. That was the day Ireland grew up.

Am nervous on Scotland this time too, for all the reasons BOD articulated. Physical team but in the past, their penalty tally let them down. If they are switched on and physical for this game we have a contest on hand. Isn't Joe McCarthy someone to be proud of, Leo Cullen must be pleased.
