Bad umpires surely were a thing this week at Citi Field. Add This To The List Of Why We Need Robo Umps #ozuna #umpire #strikeout ending credits by DJ A.H support his work here djah.bandcamp.com
Another issue with umps are their incredibly thin skins - when Ozuna questioned the first call, I'm sure O'Nora thought, "Hey, he's showing me up ... I'm gonna ring him up anything close [within 6 inches of the strike zone]."
They really just need to be more human about things. People mess up with their jobs, it happens. Just say my bad. Its so so easy to not turn it into a pissing contest.
Unable to edit this comment for some reason. O’Nora shat all over the Angels’ Chavez tonight. His shit calls cost them 5 runs. I’m not an Angels fan. Across the board this year is the worst umpiring I’ve ever seen.
Your gonna miss a close pitch every now and then . The 1st pitch could go either way . The other two were definitely balls. I'm guess the ball scares him and he blinks when he hears it lol.
The number one argument I hear about robo umps is that the technology hasn't been perfected yet. My counter argument is that robo umps will be consistent and human umps are the farthest thing from perfect.
This is nothing. Doug Edding missed 26 calls during the Jays vs White Sox game last week. Imagine an entire game plus extra innings worth of calls like these. According to umpiring metrics, it was the single worst called game of the mlb season so far. I’m a traditionalist generally but cannot wait for the implementation of some technology to clean up some of this silliness. WTH.
Check that umps bank account especially if the Mets won this game. Cuz there’s no way those balls were strikes! They were no where near lines or going over he plate
Lifelong Mets fan here, Uncle Managed in MLB and dad played minor league ball. Baseball all over my family and those calls even though helped the Mets out were TERRIBLE
