Brian's Honor Walk - Gift of Life

As a liver recipient I can't begin to explain how much I love and admire the donors gifts of life. I haven't met my donors family but I pray for them every night. Thank you.

As a recipient of a life saving Kidney and Liver Transplant, the years battling cancer took its toll on me so words can't begin to describe my gratitude and sincerest respect for Brian's selfless gift. He is a HERO in every sense of the word. To Brian's family. May the memories of Brian and the power of faith sustain you during this difficult time. Please know that Brian lives on in those he saved. I personally know the profound honor that we recipients feel. Again... many blessings to you all!

It's the crulest irony that someone's gravest and most horrific nighmare is someone else's salvation and chance at life. Much love and light to all who knew him. I've still yet to get through one of these without choking up. t

I know your pain too well. I also lost my best friend, true love, my only son. It’s hard to imagine continuing on without him, but you will. The pain never goes away, but is pushed aside with each day. Remember the good and fun times, this will help. Your son IS A Hero!! Be proud. I pray God blesses you with the strength you need. This is nuts. I have only heard of the honor walk recently. I’m not a organ donor, but when I get my new license in a few weeks, I will become one. Why not help someone start where you left off, right? Why not help???

The walk beside your loved one, on their way to give the ultimate gift of life, must be the longest and most difficult walk a person can make. It's knowing that God is walking beside you, that helps each step be taken. And when the walk end, God is still there, with you, as you begin the journey through grief. Brian seemed like a young man filled with love, kindness and a joy of life. Surely those gifts will forever be with all those he loved and who loved him. May God hold you in His embrace, always. And may Brian's spirit forever be a reminder of how precious the gift of life is.

Thanks to amazing people like yourselves and TRUE HEROES such as YOUR SON, my son was given the precious gift of a second chance at life. Wow, too soon to be taken, but he is truly a hero for sure. I am so heart broken for his parents. Watching the anguish on their faces said so much as to how much he will be missed and was loved. I am so sorry for your loss.

In 2017 I made this walk with my 24 year old son. Honor walks were not really a thing yet but it awesome just the same. I have seen many walks on here and I always thought I would want cheers and applause for my son all the way. To Brian's dad, you got it right. You’re a hero son… yes, yes you are and my heart broke hearing those words come out of Brian’s dads mouth. I’m crying so hard watching this, I don’t know why I do this to myself because watching these videos move me and sometimes reduces me to tears. Everyone I’m close to is aware that should I be in this position they haven’t to give it a seconds thought, just take everything they can from me to help as many people as I can… It’s truly the last kind act you can do in your time on earth. I also have it on my driving licence just in case… in case of what, I’m not sure but I don’t want any doubts surrounding my final wishes. Organ donation is tremendously important, but sometimes the circumstances aren’t right which means they’ll always be less donors and far too many recipients waiting for that life-changing call. I implore everyone watching this video to make your wishes clear to everyone around you and don’t think that you have years or decades to worry about donating, because no one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow. No one. Sit the people in your life down and tell them that you want to be an organ donor, and make it as clear as you possibly can because should the time come when you’re in Brian’s position your grieving family might make the wrong decision because they were never told in no certain terms what your wishes were. A lifelong friend of mine in January 2020 went to work with a ‘fuzzy’ headache and within hours he was in hospital in the operating theatre where he sadly died. His mother gave permission for his organs to be donated because he was the type of guy who would have wanted to help, and he really did. But many people say they don’t like the idea of having their loved one ‘chopped to pieces’ and that’s what prevents many people from donating… no one should think like that. The process of donation is respectful and done with much care and love, and IT SAVES LIVES… and you might not think it at the time when you’ve lost your loved one, but donating their organs is the best kind of comfort anyone can take from a premature death
