" couldn't you tell something was up when Chris and the fat man could figure out the plot..." Ouch. This was really savage of Stewie. One of my best Stewie moments
@@tshitizgurung7054 They're both extremely dumb and especially dense. The fact that they could figure out the plot of Brian's play implies that the play is so lacking in subtlety that even the dumbest of individuals could figure it out.
It's not just the choice of words, but the genuine delivery of the insult. When the insult matches the context, it feels genuine, something beyond just conflict. This scene shows very well what someone's internal arguments are like in their mind when facing self hate. The way Stewie walks away with indifference just adds to the insult.
"Couldn't you tell something was up when Chris and the Fat Man could follow the plot?" That's probably one of the most brutal insults Stewie's ever said
Sounds so beautiful, right? Man, languages are something else when they are use at this level. You don´t even need to swear, it will destroy you anyways.
@@WingcommanderIV not only that but they're saying he watches Seinfeld but just happen to never see that one episode that he stole tha line from... what r tha chances that he watches Seinfeld n never saw that particular episode
Technically, tho the fact that stewie never mentioned a specific episode. He only said that the line was from Seinfeld itself, not from any episode. That only adds to the whole point of stewie’s speech: brian is not original.
stewie is a metaphor of what the fans think of family guy and Brian is a metaphor of what family guy is now. And stewie's play is a metaphor for what family guy used to be
I hated the fact that Stewie screwed up his own play just to make stuck up Brian happy. just for once I wanted Brian to eat crow and not get Redemption
I agree ...Stewie should've realized that Brian is a hack and a backstabber and just keep writing great plays ....then he sabotaged his own play to make brian happy ....smh
I don’t think Brian got a redemption the point of the whole show is that these are horrible people in poisonous relationships that they feed into each other. So it made sense that Stewie would do this
“May every person that laughs at your sophomoric effort be a reminder of your eternal mediocrity, and pierce your heart like a knife.” - Stewie griffin
Maybe the best episode of late Family Guy ever because it is the most self-reflective one. Brian is Seth, and the play he wrote is what Family Guy is today. It's great that the show acknowledges that.
Yeah but on some level it can also mean that the people making the show are aware it's not that good but just choose not to do anything about it. It's like shehulk where the ending is supposed to bad and thought making a joke of it would be funny but really it just shows that the writers admit it's bad but just don't want to take responsibility for it and hope that pointing out bad writing fixes bad writing which it really doesn't. This form of comedy can be a double edge sword and be a hit or miss and can be easily construde as the writers knowing it's not as good but choosing not to do anything about it. That said the joke itself in this context is still funny and frankly the way Stewart insults Brian is still very much on point and definitely shakes him to his core to the point where he lies out of jealousy and takes it out on a squirrel.
This is my favorite part in this episode. Stewie: You have *NO IDEA* how hard it was to sit in that theater with all those *BRAINED HYENAS!!!* Couldn't you tell something was up when Chris and the Fat Man could follow the plot?! I mean, it took Peter a *YEAR* to figure out Stuart Little!!! *Brian*: *It's still a good play!!!!* *Stewie*: It's filled with *TERRIBLE* double entendres, puns and stolen bits! There's a line in there from *Seinfield!* *Brian*: I never saw that episode! *Stewie*: *I* have a voice! Do you understand that?! A writer needs a voice and I have one, *You* don't! Your play panders to the *LOWEST* common denominator, Brian! And it doesn't even do *THAT* well! *Brian*: *Shut up!* *Stewie with the coup de grace*: MAY EVERY PERSON THAT LAUGHS AT YOUR SOPHOMORIC EFFORT BE A REMINDER OF YOUR ETERNAL MEDIOCRITY AND PIERCE YOUR HEART LIKE A KNIFE!* That part will never get old.
Brian is nothing but a dreamer with ideas that never come to fruition. Just like how he finally wrote that book that Stewie's been bugging him about. But not one person ever bought it.
True, but you have to wonder how they could critique a book that no one bought! Carter most likely used his connections to get it universally panned before anyone could buy it! Terrible books usually have at least some people buy it!
Brian became a writer because he wants fame and fortune since he’s such a hedonist who drinks, smokes, and has sex with so many women. He doesn’t have any original stories at all.
Also, the only people who loved and bought his book were mentally challenged adults who act like toddlers, because his “simplistic writing style is graspable to them.”
one of the best of Stewie insults. the best way to destroy Brian crappy writing abilities. May everyone who laughs at your play and sophomoric effort abilities and eternal mediocrity Pierce Your Heart Like a Knife best Stewie roast ever. I bet that play was awesome
Anybody else that ever since Brian came back to life, he’d been a huge douchebag? Seriously might as well just make him stay dead if that was gonna happen
"I have a voice! Do you understand that? A writer needs a voice and I have one, you don't. Your play *panders* to the lowest common denominator, Brian. It doesn't even do that well." LOL
I think the way Stewie criticizing Brian's novel can be very intimidating because if you are a beginner of writing a story, it's very understanding for the first time that you have tried or you think you tried. All I'm saying is that everybody has their own way of writing a story and it takes a lot of learning to become a professional writer, unless you don't want to take it seriously, so maybe Stewie shouldn't have to be so harsh on Brian even though his novel is panned, just because Stewie's novel is excellent and creative, unless he is very serious. The purpose is criticism can be both harsh and helpful in their own way unless you refuse to hear the truth about the play written. 😓😐
Brian needed to hear this. He should accept criticism and grow from it instead of relying on shortcuts and trying to trick people into thinking he is smart.
Yeah frankly Brian is incredibly pretentious and rather than admit that he's not that good or just needs to make adjustments he chooses to believe no one understands the work so as to feel superior and smarter than everyone when really the problem is his writing altogether.
@@comic12558 what about Stewie being put in his place, he is still a murderer and gets things with ease and never actually gets comupance for all he does, but when does get it, it is gold
@@vaibhavkrupakar240that video would elicit massive amounts of solidarity for Stewie so long as it focuses on him owning the libs with Quagmire or something... Maybe throw in the Ida vomit sequence idk.
Stewie just told Brian off and he deserves it because in some ways when he try to hide what others had accomplished it was going to far I think Stewie showed him his play to probably tell him to do better but when Brian didn't listen he had to tell him everything what's wrong with him because don't forget there both friends so he just trying to tell him that he should do better probably that's why he sabotaged his play he didn't want to hurt Brian he wanted him to understand.Remember that episode when Brian finally made a selling book Wish it Want it Do it (Btw I know Brian was Far beyond a Dough in this episode)but anyways the person who gave him the inspiration to make that novel was stewie, so he does want to help him accomplish his dreams that's how much Stewie cares about him and if Brian becomes more of a dough Stewie can just call him out that's all I can say this is just my Opinion about this video
Russ Wilkie I mean, brian is constantly being a lazy pretentious hack, he behaves this way so often to the point where the characters within the show call him out on it, not to mention in this episode alone brian threw away a play better than his solely out of jealously to save face
Russ Wilkie Brian stole Steele’s play, buried it, and pretended he didn’t see the play. Out of fear and self-loathing he buries Stewie’s play and then kills a squirrel without ever eating it.
Well, I'm pretty sure every talented and passionate writer, who has been upstaged by the Stephanie Meyers of the world, just shed a tear of joy watching this.
Moral story: Never being a complete jerk, towards other people who have great talent and jealous for nothing. Before they encounter their roast towards you back.
"you know Stewie, I HAVE seen your play and it is exhilarating to me, a CHILD's play is one of the most beautiful things in the world, continue to play little one, you're our future" "What the fuck are you talking about?" this just kills me everytime
Stewie: May every person that laughs at your sophomoric effort be a reminder of your eternal mediocrity and pierce your heart like a knife. Me: (slow claps)
I felt this was a long overdue burn for Brian . There was an episode where he wrote a best seller but turned into a hug Dick with Stewie , I know all characters in The FG universe are meant to be flawed characters but this was Brian at his worst . ( he could not even apologize) so it felt great to see him get a emotional blow like that .
I get that Brian made a bad play, especially since Peter and Chris are too dumb to get good ones, but why did it get good reviews. I guess it's the same deal with his last book, Wish It, Want It, Do It.
TBH both sides had points in the episode: Brian Point: He just want to achieve his dream and be remembered when he dies. Half of his life is almost over and he said so himself in the episode “I’m fine of being an okay writer.” But he keep getting shattered no matter how hard he tries. Stewie Point: All Brian Do is steal ideas from other shows, movies, and books. Even claims that he never saw them but actually did. Stewie does have a voice when it comes to writing because he writes from his heart and mind but Brian doesn’t. Stewie shouldn’t have mess up his own play, but he only did it because Brian would of been miserable how even a one year old could write better than him.
Brian is a bad writer because he wants to be famous. He wanted fame so bad that when he finally got it when he wrote Wish It, Want It, Do It, he let the fame go to his head and became a jerk to Stewie. What’s worse is that he pretty much does the same thing in the first half of this episode. If he had just came up with something original and wonderfully detailed, he could’ve wrote something good.
I re-watch a bunch of Family Guy clips on RU-vid because of the lack of variety since I've watched so many. But thid moment is the only one I come back to on purpose.
"May every person that laughs at your sophomoric effort be a reminder of your eternal mediocrity and pierce your heart like a knife" Best line in the entire episode
