Man the NBA is where the top 400 or so most talented players in the world plays..... Look at Stephon Marbury, in his last years in the NBA he averaged less than 5 ppg. Go to China he averages 39 for the season and wins the CBA league MVP. The talent difference is just too big.
HuskyWarrior 0029 Jimmer Fredette is the same way. Went from 3.7 ppg in the NBA on terrible efficiency to 37.6 ppg on excellent efficiency in the CBA. Also an mvp.
Andrew Bogut was almost forced to retire in the NBA, goes back to Australia to play in their league and win DPOY & MVP in the same year. These guys are worlds better than the vast majority of basketball players, even ones that were starters on really good college teams. Good enough to play in the NBA is just that much higher.
@@jumptusflopus7184 yeah fredette went from having career highs of 24 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds in the NBA to averaging 37/7/5 plus 2 steals on 62% TS in a 3 year CBA stint
i don't think any of these clowns really thought they were better than scalabrine, just the thought of being near an ex-nba player is awesome by itself
Memes and puns aside, Brian Scalabrine was an NBA player, 1 of the 400 best players in the WORLD and played for 11 seasons. None of us here (unless you're an NBA player) have a chance of beating him.
People forget the guy he played in this video, made it to a D1 team, which by itself makes you one of the best players in the world, and even this guy was nothing compared to a retired end of bench NBA player
Yeah I played D1 college sports, too and people in my hometown would always ask me if I was going pro. I would politely laugh and say 'no, no chance of that'. I just wanted to have my college paid for.
@@Laneous14I can only relate because of hockey but have had the opportunity to play against several former NHLers in pretty high level full check senior hockey. Mostly ex college and pro guys kind of thing. The guys that played in the show even a little were at such a different level it’s insane.
You notice this with any pro athlete, really, from golf to tennis to basketball. Everything they do is just so precise. Every shot comes out perfect. Every move is with purpose. If you ever even see a D1 player at the gym it's immediately obvious.
@@rjcarr316Same with boxing. The average journeyman pro boxer is worlds apart in technique vs. some wanna be tough guy off the street, or even some golden gloves dude, which is why even the best amateurs start off so slowly in the pros.
@@Jimaybob BAHAHA and you assume Scal was trying lol, he used the same exact moves so yes, the challenge is embarrasing because how do you let a guy beat you with the same move 😂 i know plenty of big men who can’t dominate the game like Scal does here
@@alimamy9 Yup, people underestimate how much size is a factor. Go against somebody that's wide and can move. Doesnt matter if he's relatively slow or unathletic in a half court set, that's very difficult to deal with especially someone with a jumpshot and IQ. All he has to do is get to his spot and shoot over you all day lol. Jokic, Bird , Duncan --- who are considered unathletic vs their peers have no problem dominating because they just know how to use their size and skill. Scal maybe a benchwarmer in the NBA but he was an excellent college player and vs ordinary people or even pros and excellent hoopers will dominate.
He did win a championship with the 2008 Celtics. He was a 1 quarter per game bench warmer for his career, but he did have a season with 6 ppg and 5 rebounds. He's actually not that bad.
majornewb He didn't need to do it this time. He was going against bunch of amateurs. If he would've done his 360 windmill, it would've destroyed all these people.
That was awesome, I can’t stop laughing wt this commentary, this should’ve been a series! When I saw scal back in 2008, Tommy called him human cigar bc he only came in during garbage time when 2008 Celtics were blowing teams out or had double figure leads, I never realized how much of a good player he was, much respect white mamba! Can’t wait to watch round 2!
Oh my god is guy still got it, still baffles me that no NBA team has offered him a contract yet if him and Robert Sacre went to the Sixers they would automatically be in the championship race, deadly duo.
There’s 450 people on the planet in the NBA. That means he’s in the top .0000001 percent or so. You’re more likely to get struck by lightning than be a benchwarmer for the worst NBA team
This was the practice to him, not even an ounce of pressure, yet showcased the gap. I mean, he had a block too. He'd probably get a rebound if it's a pickup game.
One thing that always stands out to me when I see league guys against others…. League players are so comfortable with contact with the ball and even seek it out.
when you are used to dealing with athletic jacked af or lightning quick 7ft tall or 7ft wingspan players on a nightly basis in the NBA, going up against use mere nonprofessional mortals must feel like how playing little kids feels for us lol
Most of us couldn't even play D III. Give the kid some credit. He still scored more points at a D1 school than any of us did combined. Maybe he took other aspects of life like his studies more seriously than ball. Ain't no shame in that.
what's is funny about they underestimate the white momba ,I play one on one every weekend with the old 40 something white guy and he as all the old outdated but deadly moves to be effective so much I tailored my post moves after him
Can you imagine being a normal 5'10" to 6' guy and dealing with him backing you down? Literally ZERO you can do about it because you have to get low to brace yourself and then he turns around and is instantly 2 feet taller than you.
People forget that just because they aren't great NBA players doesn't mean that aren't great basketball players. Most ballers can't beat the average NBA bench warmer.
Scalabrine at his age would still beat some current NBA players lets not act like he is bad. He is very strong and very big and still plays very well for the Big3.
Scal wasn’t even close to being one of the worst NBA players. He was one of the earliest stretch bigs who can shoot outside and score in the paint. I can name at least 50 players who were worse than Scal.
