I got no problem if those guys compete at King of the Table. It has this kinda celebrity image nowadays. But not at East vs West. Its the highest Stage and the cherry on top.
agree, Brian Shaw is very popular in strength circles, there would be a lot of interest to see him pull, even with simple organized match. But giving these newbies immediately a place at East vs West is too much. It's like Brian Shaw with his height getting spot in NBA finals.

I’m normally not a fan of “celebrity matches”, but Brian vs. Khalid makes a lot of sense!!! I think that would be a great first matchup for Brian, maybe this fall (still want to see him do a tourney tho first!).
Decades ago, I was very good at archery I taught myself everything and tried everything clever and stupid for years. I then competed in tournaments and was immediately a winner I then joined a club and showed others the best way in my opinion. After a year, I was the "fifth best" in my small club😂 Devon also has a talent for showing his students individually and quickly what is important

@@AaronJensen92 Yes and no. If you’re way stronger you’re going to win experience or not. The question is how strong will Brian get in arm wrestling specific movements before those matches. Man was born to put on size and strength. I get what you mean though. Brian needs some work before he can beat these guys.
Khaled is a freak, no doubt. BUT...so many of you are clueless about the level of strength Brian has. Just because he hasnt armwrestled much, doesn't mean his connections and tendon strength isnt anything short of absolutely ridiculous. He's done so many wild varieties of lifts with extreme weights for 20years...watch him toss kettle bells in WSM. If he has the rules, basic movements, and starts down...he'll overwhelm almost anyone with just strength....and IMO, definately Khaled.
I know...Khaled is a freak for 6 feet, that goes only so far...once you face big guys that are 6ft6 and above - all that gets negated.... - you can be a grizzly bear - but all that stops when an Elephamt shows up, no matter hpw strong that grizzly is compared to regular animals... Levan, Brian, Denis, Vitaly - are these Elephants...
yeah people are forgetting he wasn't a bodybuilder - this is not Larry Wheels, this is a WSM, 6'8 lumberjack type dude, who can probably lift your car end. i think just having a table in his gym and slowly watching arm wrestling videos and doing some pulls he will get a style, it wont take him long. if he wants it he can get it, its all his choice.
A while back when Khalid was just starting to arm wrestle with Larry wheels there was a video with Levon also there in Dubai at the gym with another guy also I forget who it was. Well that day they were doing hand strength tests and Khalid was actually stronger than Levon in every measurable category with different equipment that tested it which surprises everybody at the gym. Even Levon was shocked at what he was witnessing.

I think kahled and Brian is actually a good match that I’d like to see. Both are big powerful guys but are also pretty new in the sport overall. Hope this match happens!

I assume Khaled is on steroids or has done a cycle at this point, but they need to get him on if not. It's basically a must in the current state of the sports he compete in.
@@cz5836 It's real, but Khaled is not natty, and most people are not going to put themselves at a disadvantage. I mean if your genetics are really good you can blow most guys on large amounts of steroids out of the water in terms of size and strength, but when someone with good genetics hops on steroids you're probably in trouble and at a disadvantage.

Maybe the fact that these last couple generations are said to be extremely lacking in testosterone and masculinity is why everyone thinks everyone else is on roids.

Some are acting like Brian Shaw is some goob beer belly. He's not old and has been competing in strength of all kinds for over 20 years. 6'8" 400 plus. Call me crazy he might do pretty good. Why don't we find out.
The problem isn't that, it's that he has almost no experience in arm wrestling, and arm wrestling skill is all about table time and experience. I'd be willing to see the match though, he could surprise us.
They haven’t pulled common opponents, but I’d favor Derick by a margin. People LOVE to shit on him (bc he gets smoked by top 20 guys) but he’s good. He beat Tim Bresnan easily and Tim pulls somewhat similar to Khalid, and I can’t see Khalid being nearly as strong as Tim (his grip sure but all around round Armwrestling strength no).
@HandelandJ Derek beat a washed up done Bresnan. Has won 0 other notable matches. That being said Shaw needs 2 be isolated and train and pull behind the scenes for at least a year b4 accepting any super matches. And after said year he should pull multiple tournaments 1st.

Larry wheels is like top 200 In the world and his last match he still lost against “not training” Khaled. So this would mean Brian just stepping into arm wrestling would beat Larry wheels who’s been training for 4 yrs lol. If Brian wins he has some ridiculous potential

The thing is that Khaled is way too genetically gifted , sadly he just doesn't have those work ethics only and only his genes took him to levels above Ryan bowen , Schoolboy . Imagine where he would be if he worked hard in the sports and improve technique .
I wouldn't chalk it up as a work ethic thing. Maybe a motivation or lack of type of thing. I just think it sounds crazy to call it a work ethic thing when he's stated before that he was more interested in other things. His work ethic went into those and not arm wrestling.
I think it was the Khalid match against Schoolboy that I didn't like. Khalid used the kings move and tired schoolboy out for the rest of the match. Seemed illegal to me. Refs need to keep the guys that use the extreme version of the kings move in check otherwise its unwatchable.

Brian really shouldn't be an inside armwreslter especially at his experience level. He has massive levers and power. He lacks elbow conditionaing etc and he will 100% get injured trying to press anyone pro. Also he d9esnt have the tightness or mobility to get into a deep hook.

this all depends on if brian is actually really into arm wrestling imo. if hes really into it... he has the money ... power... bones and frame built to lift 1000 lbs. .. everyone is like oo ooo ooo....if u can deadlift 1000 lbs --- and lift 700lb round stones... you can fckn arm wrestle.. llolol
As strong as Shaw is, he is not ready to face top notch arm wrestlers. He needs time to train and learn the proper techniques, and that could take at least one or kore years. Personally, this is not arm wrestling, not when your whole body is being used, not when things like King moves, pushing against the table, almost laying down, that is not arm wrestling. I arm wrestled when I was younger and it was strictly arm against arm, your body stayed upright, there was no quick movement, the only part of you that moved was your arm. It seems the only thing they look at is if your elbow comes off the pad.
