I have the stage 2 in my LS1. Stock 241 heads, Ls6 manifold, FBO. Made 407 on a heart breaker dyno. BTR makes great Camshafts.

hell yeah man! My brother just got a ws6 and im trying to convince him to join the btr side lol. Looking back I think the stage 2 would have fit my application better but at the end of the day I love my stage 4

Having built a .030 over LS2 with LS3 heads I cam say I was not impressed. The LS3 heads like what you have on your PPV were designed for a 4.065" bore and IMO too much of the valves are shrouded by the cylinder walls when using them on a 4" or 4.030" bore. I almost got a PPV and I was planning on pulling the rectangular port heads for some Stage 2 or 2.5 5.3 heads, 11.25 or 11.4 CR with a Stage 3 or 4 BTR cam, ported Fast 102 intake and 3800 stall with a really good rear gear. I had a SBE LS1 with a Futral F14, Fast, Stage 2 5.3 heads in a 4th gen Camaro with a T56, 4.11 gears and 26" tall tires. It was surprisingly torquey and responsive. With an extra 20ci, more cam, better heads, ported intake, and more compression I know it would run really well in the PPV. I have a LQ9 I just swapped in my 06 Yukon that will get a set of ported 243s, a ported Fast LSXRT 102mm I have, 11.3 CR, 3200 stall, 4.11 gears on 28" tires. Try looking into a cathedral port setup. BTW I'm not anti rectangular I have an 11.8 CR 416ci Stage 2 WCCH LS3 heads 240/250 6.23 .617 114 LS3 in my Trailblazer SS. They work very well on 4.065" and larger bore.

i’m running the stage 4 v2 cam and i milled the heads .035 and i’ve had no issues and i’m still running stock pushrod length

What would you think of putting a cam like the in front of a manual transmission? I just picked up a LM7 5.3 that I want to swap into an OBS Chevy short bed 2 wheel drive.

Im doing a dod on a g8gt i have ls7 lifters and a dod delete valley do i need to change the cam? And what cam do i need to buy?

Yes, you need a non DOD delete cam, if you want a lot of performance id suggest getting valve springs, push rods, and a btr cam. If youre going budget on stock driveability, get an ls3 cam out of a camaro

What supporting mods do I need to run stage 4 cam? Beautiful car btw I love it. I wanna go stage 4 cam but I want to make it reliable as much as possible so I was thinking rockers springs but I don’t know what else and also don’t know what rockers or springs to go for if yoy can reply this would help so much

I would absolutely do the trunion upgrade for the rockers and springs are 100% required for this cam. Btr .660 springs is what most cammed guys use for ls powered cars

Not worried about mpg but I'm thinking btr stg 3 cam with 3200 stall . What do you think . Of course long tube and cold air. On my first 13 caprice ppv 6.0 . I want the trillion Valve trane upgrade too i wana send heads to get reworked. Any tips would be appreciated

All of those will help complement the setup as well, obviously an intake manifold would do wonders for that cam. BTR cams need to breathe to make good power, so any way to help get the air in is key. For the stall, I would get a 3800 triple disk 258mm stall, I have the 3200 in mine and I wish down low it had more power

@@gregoryrobinson1004 I personally like the blue line performance rod modded intake, but the BTR equalizer has been proven to add great results with any camshaft

I believe these cars have a 2.73 rearend gearing with the mods you just mentioned l think a 3.42 gear would make it launch harder because this guy said he has a 3200rpm stall converter and it bogs off the line with that 3200 stall the engine should be making decent torque which makes me believe a 3.42 gear would be better and still be able to do 90mph on the highway all day this gear will keep you more in the engines sweet spot when shifting not dropping out of the engines power band and less rpm drop when shifting puting less load on the engine yes by doing this gas mileage will drop but with traction it's probably worth .5 of a second or maybe a little more in the quarter mile these cars with driver are 4000 + pounds heavier cars with a performance cam need and like more gear even a stock LS 6.0 will respond very well to more rear gearing more so than the old style chevy smallblock does because peak torque is 4500rpm to 5000rpm on a chevy LS engine and 3200rpm to 4400rpm on most old style chevy smallblocks unless it has all forged internals and a big camshaft can you move the peak torque numbers above 4500rpm upside is the old style smallblock makes better torque below 3000rpm especially if its a 383 or 406 but in the upper rpm range above 4000rpm and up the LS will stomp most old style chevy smallblocks

If you buy a cam that’s too aggressive, there’s nothing even the best tuner can do to make it drive smooth. Spec your cam appropriately people!

That's 100% false lol. Drivabality has everything to do with the tuning. I daily a btr4 with a lightweight aluminum flywheel and aluminum pressure plate with no issues.

The cam pulls more ir through the engine, and headers help with the flow of air coming out of the engine making the aftermarket cam more efficient

@@Lightning7474. anytime! The biggest difference i believe is the compression from plat top pistons to done tops, my block had flat and I believe truck pistons are domed

Stage four is a full blown race cam it’s got no business on the street very difficult to tune properly four part throttle drivability stage two would be as big as I would go for something that you put plates on
