WHAT?? the whole thing?? i’ve been fascinated by the one clip of it for so long, such a lucid and candid Brian being on camera is crazy rare. easily the best video collection of this band on the whole internet, infinite blessings ur way *•*•*•*
Brian looking at his watch gets me every time. I love how as soon as Dominic Priore turned up Brian just couldn't be assed any more, as soon as Art Fein said goodbye to him and wished to see him touring somewhere soon Brian was just like "okay" and just walks off 😄 I understand that Dominic Priore was clearly incredibly nervous here to meet Brian, as most of us would be - and he did well to hold it together to be fair, but the kind of questions he asked were just straight over Brian's head, especially because he was so flustered as he asked them, Brian just got confused. A question to Brian has to be simple and concise or you won't yield an answer. Tbh he has no interest in talking about production when at this point in his life it was virtually beyond his understanding due to technological advancements. Besides, Priore is an egotist and Brian could see that a mile off and didn't want to give him anything.
Priore sure comes off as a bit of a douche, in this and in other docs i've seen where he is one of the talking heads who apparently knows eeeeeverything about brian. in one, he actually makes fun of brian's voice during brian's snl/mike douglas appearances. gee, what an admirer.
@@marguskiis7711 nobody has ever denied that. But that was in 1982/83. And then Landy went way, way too far until 1992. He had controlled every aspect of Brian‘s life and his finances, didn‘t allow him to have contact with his family including his daughters and brother Carl, became his business and songwriting partner (which doctors are not allowed to do and which led to Landy losing his license in California). He was a control freak and exploited Brian as much as he could. He had admitted that he had made sure to overdose Brian with sedatives and heavy meds to control him especially during business meetings. I‘m not at all a Mike Love fan, but he said it right: Brian was the goose that laid the golden eggs for Landy. And if the family and future wife Melinda hadn‘t put an end to all that, Brian would have stayed Landy‘s puppet without free will. Landy had even written Brian‘s first memoir for the most part. Brian later stated he had only seen the first draft but not the final version. All this is documented in memoirs, biographies and documentaries. There‘s a revealing interview on yt where a female reporter interviews Landy and confronts him with the accusations of unethical behaviour and Landy‘s reactions are evasive and he‘s just helpless at the end.
A group of people with real knowledge and a calm interest make this one of the best Brian Wilson captures. Brilliant post. The DIY production of this modest show ends up adding to the charm.
I've heard of some of these guys (that aren't Brian Wilson). Sid Griffin is annoying and thinks its about him. Art has such a tiny voice. Ken Barnes probably shouldn't be there. Who aired this show?
Such a miss match : Brian Wilson with all this charisma and intelligence and these others who I never heard of not did I care to know more about them having seen and heard just a little from them. I just kept moving along until I saw that Brian was speaking. The others were so boring and not especially respectful of Brian. They were lucky to be there it seemed to me.
