Agree!! Gymnastics has also seemed to lose the art - it’s just powerhouses doing as many flips in a row as they can. It doesn’t have the softness and is boring to watch.
I’m watching the 2022 Olympics, but this routine is something from my past that I will NEVER forget! I didn’t realize he was the first in history to land the quad! Soooo… Amazing!! Kurt was AMAZING!
Kurt Browning was one of the best for his time. World Champion several times yet never made the medal podium at two Olympics. It didn’t hurt his popularity one bit. He’s still loved by his fans and Brick House will always be a top performance.
Kurt was the whole package - he was pure entertainment with top notch skating chops. Scotty was wonderful but he didn't have quite the performance range that Kurt possessed in my opinion.
I've always felt that he was underappreciated on a world level and skated in the shadow of Scott Hamilton. Four-time Canadian and four-time World champ he represented Canada three times in the Olympics, but somehow an Olympic medal always eluded him. He's always been a personal favorite, as has SH.
Even as a kid I thought this was cheesy but now I can appreciate how well he interprets the music. He’s not just shaking it lol he’s doing a full performance. You can tell he’s really having fun.
This is what Kurt Browning is known for and remembered for. He was perfect!!! 10's across the boards I believe!!! His skating got alot better after he married his wife. I think being a ballet dancer it challenged him to up his game!!!
mine too.. always makes me smile! I've seen him once in person. i loved him right from the start of his career but this is my favorite routine. It is Classic!
An amazing skating artist! His flawless moves and techniques are always on point and he never misses a beat. A true and deserving champion and a fellow Albertan. So proud of the person he is and the true legend he has left behind. Kudos to you, Kurt Browning!
They were definitely cool but there were as many gay skaters then as there are now. Men dancing wasn’t seen as masculine and male figure skaters were bullied and attacked from little boys to adults. Put your homophobia in your back pocket and sit on it.
That's what they call "the x factor". Kurt had the audience in his hands as soon as he stepped on the ice. This is my favourite routine of his. Go Kurt ❤
Way back in the dark ages when I actually enjoyed watching skating. When it was more about entertainment instead of how many quintuple jumps within 3 seconds.
hey kurt, thank you for being my sunshine, thank you for always making me smile and laugh. youve been my medicine and there has been so many times where i dont feel like laughing or smiling because of stress or anxiety, and i turn you on, i try not to smile but in less than two seconds you have me laughin, and smilling. thank you for the way you continue to touch and impact my life. alot has happened since i last spoke with you. im a college student and it's been a dogfight and still have more dogfights, im still battling medical issues, but am holding up. im now serving on a new servant team at church and loving it. so thank you again for being that ray of golden sunshine on my darkest days. i feel like with you i have a real friend who i kow will be there to lift my spirits. love you k.b. hugs
I'm only seeing an interview with him now, it popped up - where he's going on retirement. Of course now I've looked it up to see him in action -- WOW there are no words - amazing. He's still darn good looking at this age.
Love it when they actually do their own choreography, it makes it seem they are more into and having lots of fun and really entertaining for the audience (me being the audience) choreographed by the artist shows more freedom of expression in art performances. Less conformity and should be enjoyed for not wanting the be like the others conforming or copy catting.
He did, but this is after he left amateur competition and turned pro. He continued to dance on ice until his recent retirement, and always seemed to be as comfortable on skates as the finest principal dancer on a floor.
