I just made a brick link order today for a single piece I needed and I told myself: "Keep it under $5"....... I ended up $50 in the hole with 1k pieces in my cart.
@@devon8419 Everything in the store was 50% off, so most of the pieces were ranging from $0.015 for the smaller ones to $0.04 to $0.05 for the larger ones.
Great video! The Star Wars pain is real. I recently parted out the Ghost and it has a printed windscreen piece that currently goes for around $30. Decided to pass on that and use one without a print, but maybe someday.
A Series of Unfortunate Financial Decisions was the perfect title haha, I like the little cake piece at 7:10 , it looks just like the one in Minecraft! Great video!
Oh interesting! Someone else pointed out they came in another set too - so three sets altogether now :o That's pretty cool. I can't believe it was still being produced in 2009!
13:34 That reminds me of back in August when I picked up Skybound Jay & all 5 parts of the minifigure were packed in its own bag inside of the bigger bag.
That "light gray" spider piece (if it isn't just really sun faded) *might* actually be a glow-in-the-dark piece from Monster Fighters. That's the only place I've seen anything like it.
It probably should be a 1x1 tile instead, but I'm juat glad to have gotten something new! LEGO Minecraft definitely spoils us with all its specialized parts!
Tons of cool Lego pieces! It's always interesting how these videos seem to have orders that completed set shown in previous uploaded videos. Always good stuff!
Yeah! They're almost a behind-the-scenes of sorts. I'm always pretty far behind too because I don't want to spam the channel with parts orders every other week 😂 I've got two more Bricklink Order videos done and another Pick-a-Brick lol
Woah those old Insectoid canopy pieces are a nostalgia trip and a half! I remember pouring over those sets as a kid when I'd see them in my catalogs, such a neat theme. Same with the Life on Mars theme, a really wholesome concept of alien/human cooperation. As a huge Bionicle fan (all of my orders in the last year have been for Bionicle pieces/sets, which my wallet does NOT appreciate lol), I'm always excited to see them show up in Bricklink order videos.
I always see a lot of Bionicle stuff when scrolling through the rarer colors on stores, and I'm always pretty shocked by some of the prices - especially for the masks! I assume there are a lot of people out there who must collect them
I just finished my Ninjago modular collection by getting the Ninjago City set from Bricks and Minifigs. Glad to know my financial situation isn’t the only one in shambles lol
Really neat selection of stuff, I especially enjoyed the goth parrot, dual column and the micromobs! Very excited for the geode mock sounds really pretty. The player skin kind of reminds me of GoodTimesWithScar just without the cheeky smirk.
I think my computer is doing some serious spying on me...I've been clawing my way out of a dim age, joined the Ironbuilder discord earlier this month to spectate and have been looking at flickr more for inspiration...and then your channel comes up, heh. Inspirational videos! Subscribed :)
@@CheeseyStudios Haha thanks! (I will emphasise I never went full dark age but I certainly hadn't built Mocs over the entirety of high school! And some sets did get sold...R.I.P Vikings Keep and Detectives Office.) Also it took me a while to recognise you from Lego Masters USA lol. But yes I shall bathe in the light XD
I am a collector of both system and Bionicle! Those torch pieces may have actually come in Toa Hordika Vakama. It was a figure released in 2005, the figure was cheaper than the system set, so it was probably found in that set?
I had completely forgotten about those arachnid pieces until I saw them, what a blast from the past. I think I have some still, I'd be happy to send them to you if I can dig them out 🤔
I was able to find that micro minecraft set with the steve and creeper for 5 dollars at a flea market. You can use the steve head to make a pretty good custom shulker. If you put it between a 2x2 plate with a 2x2 jumper on top and a 2x2 plate with a 2x2 tile on top, it looks pretty game-accurate. love these order videos!
Woah! Some crazy pieces here! I purchased a lego mc magazine the other day and I don't know if it came with an exclusive figure or if it already came in a previous set, also I'm working on tiling off my skeleton dungeon!
Oh yeah! I think I know the one you're talking about. That figure also shows up in the Sky Tower set (the one with the Phantoms) but it's definitely much cheaper to get it with the magazine.
5960 The Mermaid Castle is such a wild set. did you know there's a color almost exclusive to that set? when i saw the pillar i just instinctively guessed that was its origin
Those red bricks could be used to make a nether fortress moc. They are the perfect size for the bridge sections. Just add a tile on top and a plate on the bottom, an tada, nether fortress.
My friend got a Phase 2 Captain Rex figure (usually go for $200 or more) and it was so yellowed, it looked like spoiled milk. He asked me if I’d want to trade mine (which I got from the original set) for his. I respectfully declined the offer 🤣
"I got a small taste of what Star Wars people feel everyday when they buy, you know, 10-15$ minifigure" Cloud City Boba Fett: "Allow me to introduce myself"
I like how you say “now I know what Star Wars fans feel like when buying $10 to $15 figures” I wish they were mostly that but the more desirable ones are like $20 to $25. Then you got the insanely desirable and rare figures that are $100 to $200 or even more somehow 😅 My Star Wars collection is probably around $1,000 but no one will ever have it until I die.
I actually have those sand purple arches (8:28) I must’ve got that set when it came out, but I’ve never known what to do with them as they are an odd sorta unlego shape.
It definitely depends. I would say 80% of the time Bricklink is the way to go. Pick-a-Brick is great for bulk parts though, and that's where I get all my 2x2 tiles for my custom Minecraft series.
bricklink, lego's Pick-a-brick is kind of overpriced, minus a couple of pieces that are pretty good deals, not to mention you have a lot more variety and options with bricklink
@@CheeseyStudios I was building a three-story lego house. Looking at it now, the money could have been better spent on something that would have looked prettier (like a modular), but it still holds a place in my heart. I didn't just buy bricks for the house, though, I also stocked up on generic large plates, as well as stuff I needed at the time. The large plates were a big help in building because they get used very quickly for roofs.
This is such a weird thing, but honestly, I've always wanted to be like, 20 dollars, get as much cool stuff on bricklink as possible for the cheapest you can, anyway love the video again 😅 also random note, I saw lego is now making minrcraft cakes sqaure??? (I think) atleast I think I saw 😅 Oop yep, just checked, comes in the new The Bakery set, ooo and new chest molds
I'd definitely recommend such a strategy! I think you could get all sorts of weird and fun stuff. The square cake is nothing new - LEGO has actually been making that since 2016 and it comes in three sets :D
love the new music! also you can use the upper part of minecraft steve for a shulker face. so will the swamp come out after this or will another video come in between.
How did you make your intro?(the one with the moon/cheese and red brick) I want to make one for my channel but don’t know where to start. Also, those figures look great i especially like the first one you showed, great video!
I drew up the logo in Adobe Illustrator and animated it with After Effects! These programs are fantastic for graphic design and animation. Because they're both made my Adobe too, they work seamlessly together which is a big help.
Definitely! I'll do the Phantom one soon and a Ravaged eventually too. Other designs in the future that I could do would be the Ender Dragon, Panda, Guardians, Goblin, Wither, and probably others too!
It can be pretty complicated, but you can visit the website and look up any LEGO set, piece, or figure ever produced. Bricklink is comprised of hundreds of different small stores that all sell different things. No one store has everything, but some have more than others. I usually create a Wanted List of all the parts I need, and use Bricklink's automated system to find a store in my country that has the most of those parts. Ordering from one store saves on shipping costs.
Yeah, I've definitely had plenty of casualties in that department. When it comes time to take them apart, that's when I'll have to be especially careful.
