I have watched so many bridal tips videos and this one had the best advice by far. You covered things no one else mentions. Invaluable information. Thank you so much x
I got married almost 2 years ago, but I look forward to watching the bridal looks anyway because it's always a pleasure to follow you :) You're so classy! x
Wonderful advice! I'm going to be a bridesmaid and am now going to take into account the wedding colors (navy and peach) when doing my makeup. Thank you!
@MUpNorth the 2 I'm doing this week are really natural looks...to get the ball rolling. I was thinking of doing some stronger ones (smoky eye, more liner etc) later in the summer going into Autumn. If i get time I'll post sooner. Congratulations on your wedding! x
@rocco94x I'm really pleased you like it as i will be posting a tutorial of this look as its one of the more natural bridal looks I'm focusing on this week. Its not the next one I'm posting but it will be up by the end of this week. It'll be titled 'a classic bridal look' and all the products and links will be available on my website x
Lisa Eldridge What would be your current favourite indestructible, photography-friendly foundations for brides? Getting excited about planning my look for my big day! These videos are such a helpful resource!!
@FM897 yes you have a point, it's funny to look at dated pictures of ourselves. The problem with following a make-up 'trend' just for the sake of it on your wedding day is that you can end up looking trendy but not as beautiful as you could. As you know make-up trends dont always suit everyone! Photography styles & technology and fashion will pretty much ensure that old pictures will always look just that but I still think that bridal make up should mainly aim to beautify the individual x
Not that I'm planning on being a bride anytime soon (by choice..LOL) I really enjoyed this...a big reason is your accent but the bigger reason is that there's always something to learn when I watch your videos. LOVE your makeup it this and hopefully I'm not the only one so perhaps you'll do a tutorial.....xo
Lisa, I would love to see what YOU looked like on your wedding day! Would you please post a photo on your website? The tips were great. I just love your videos.
Lisa this is great! As a make up artist it is always great to get hints and tips from people such as yourself. I can't wait to see your bridal looks. Thanks again. Sophie xxx
Some great tips, I wish I had known them all before my weddingday. I must say that looking at my pictures you can't really tell when it was, which I am very happy about. I just wish that I had a longlasting lipstick but that's the only thing that didn't go to plan, only brought with me a lipgloss but it made me look more natural at the party and there is nothing wrong with that.
@memabige No because I have extremely sensitive teeth. Re the polish...yes it went on sale last week. I'm afraid I cant remember the exact name of it but if you ask the consultants for the Limited Edition 'warm pewter' shade they will know which one x
This is amazing advice! I watched this years ago I’m so glad I rewatched it I’m getting married in august and our vibe is bohemian with sage green colors with jewel toned flowers, macramé every where! Glitter is staple for me but would that affect the timelessness of my photos?
@nieesia25 I'm starting with 2 very natural summery bridal looks and both will go up this week....i'm sure I'll do stronger ones later in the year tho x
Lisa, I agree with every word you say. as the date getting very close, and i will makeup myself, you helped me to place my thoughts and clean all the advices i get around. Thank you, Keren
Thank you Lisa, you are my favorite coach in makeup related tutorials. You are professional, smart, balanced, self-confident, and kind. I love your way of communicating, tone of voice, and excellent advices that you share with us. Big big thank you! I love your English accent too. :-)
my poor friend doesn't wear makeup and she's being forced to put some on. I told her it was merely a suggestion to wear a little, such as concealing around the eyes since she has dark under eye circles, for the sake of her photographs that'll be constantly taken. The first person she went to thanks to her mother was a woman that disregarded her wishes and my friend said she looked like a Renfaire whore at the end of it. She's kind of getting bullied by her mother, but most especially a really awful aunt to put makeup on and to have her hair done when she A) has no idea what's going on and B) has no care for anyone of it and regards it in the same way one does electroshock therapy. I've sent this video along to her in hopes that Maybe it'll help her see what someone who knows what they're doing suggests and that might help her find a better makeup artist.
Hi Lisa! I've been following you for a few years now and though I've watched these videos before I'm now taking good notes because I got engaged last week! These are so helpful, but I am wondering if you wouldn't consider doing a wedding series similar to how you did your foundation course? I'd love to hear your tips on what types of formulations to choose for various weather conditions, as well as how to decide what makeup look best suits the style of the wedding (formal, country, beachy, etc).
Lisa you are so beautiful and classy!! Thank you so much for this tips !! 😍💕 I need to sit with a journal and take notes of all of it. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! 💕💕💕
I just realized that you have more videos in youtube than your website but I rather to watch your videos there because you have the list of all the makeup you've used.
hello lisa, I really enjoyed listening to your advice and tips very helpful, and while I was watching keep looking at your teeth looks very healthy white do you use anything to make it white, also about your nail polish you said its No7 summer limited edition, is't still availabel in boots? xx
I really hope I can remember about this video for when I get married, just because everything you've said is SO helpful and they're all things that I would never consider! Thanks for this~ now to just get married lol.
I'm watching this to calm myself :). I'm going to do a test run of makeup on a bride to be who asked me to do her makeup next year. It's so good to hear that my ideas of bridal makeup are not at all wrong :) and get ideas :). And I alo know now more questions that I have to ask her tomorrow to be able to do her makeup really well. I want it to be perfect :). I hope that the test run will go smoothly and she'll be happy and even happier on the big day :).
Great video!! Can you PLEASE do a daytime smokey eye for a Summer bride? Just a classic, beautiful, non-dramatic eyelook, but still a smokey eye. I'm doing this look on myself this Summer when I'm getting married and would love your take on this :)
You look so beautiful in this vid, Lisa! You always do, though. I guess Im not the first to notice that the Shellac is gone...? Maybe has something to do with when the vids are made vs posted?
This is an excellent video! Thanks for all of the tips :) I was wondering if you can suggest how I would cover a surgical scar on my neck (from my ear to about 2/3 of the way down my neck) to ensure it does not come through on my wedding photos as much as possible?
@lisaeldridge can you make a video on what staple makeup products a beginner freelance makeup artist should have in their kits. And are great makeup kits are!!
Hello Gorgeous Lisa Awe you look fabulouse.. It And so Amazing yes I adore this Look cannot wait for more videos to come Love the idea.. And Yes many people are gething married in this hot summer, so beautiful natural or soft looks or neutrals look's great oxox Melinda
Watching this in 2024 as I’m going to be doing my own wedding makeup next year, eek! I’ve watched your videos for years and years and they are so helpful, but I’m still worried it’s going to go wrong as there’s so many different products for different skin types! 🫣 would love an updated video with tips on good products for making makeup last. I sometimes find makeup doesn’t blend into my skin very well and just sits on top, even if I don’t use very much, any tips to avoid?
She has a video about blemish covering (It's called Acne/Blemish Covering Make-up). It's all about using lighter coverage foundation and only using heavy coverage right on the blemishes themselves. I think this might help with your problem
Hi Lisa! Great tips (now wondering when I'm getting married :P ). Just wanted to let you know that this pinkish background looks better than the white! It is more natural :) Thank you!!
Your advice about not using trendy makeup on your wedding day is worth taking into consideration, but what's so bad about a picture looking dated? That's actually part of the fun of looking at old photographs. It brings you back to that place and time.
What great advices!need one more of you.I have couperose skin and I have to hide my redness that is already visible and it will appear at the time, because I tend to be red when I get nervous would like your advice, as it should do,products that you find appropriate.I use the clinique makeup to the skin with redness.do not think it's the most efficient.the fact of living on an island (azores) also helps me not have access to many products .. In preparation for my wedding this worries me themost.
Great advices :) I wish someone so reasonable and talented make my bridal make-up! I'm afraid that someone will use to much products or make me look very serious - like not me...
Hello Lisa. I'm getting married in upcoming summer holidays and I'm so confused about which foundation I should use. I've been loving the makeup looks you do and such an amazing makeup artist you are. My skin is thankfully very clear and but is a combination skin. I'm 24 and I for everyday, use Clinique BB cream for evening out my skin tone. I just want like the best foundation for my skin. Would you be kind enough to suggest me? Looking forward for you kind reply.
hi! I love your make-up tips and all your videos! I have a question I was hoping you could address someday (maybe you have already). The thing is I have blemishes and imperfections specially on my cheeks but I also have freckles... And I LOVE my freckles but it seems there is so middle term between good coverage and freckles in all their glamour :) I have a late summer wedding dream and my freckles really pop in the summer and I would like the best of both worlds. Any ideas? Thank you
hey lisa, think you have amazing tips for weddings. i'm getting married in south of spain end of aug/early sept this year. not use to high temperature as i live in uk. any tips on how to wear make up in this type of weather? i'm use to wearing make up every day, eyeliner etc. concerned make up won't stay on in the heat. i don't necessarily sub bath loads, may have a glow, but that's about it. thanks
Thank you so much for this video!!! I am asian and more on the tanned side. I do have a yellow undertone and I've had problems finding a great lip color for my skin for as long as I can remember. thus, I only stay on the safer side of things and apply nude/flesh tone lip glosses and very light browns, caramels. What colors would you suggest to try out? Thanks so much!
