The lack of military knowledge, geopolitics, common sense and respect by people who are speaking so confidently in these replies is hysterical and sad. People serving are absolutely fighting for and protecting us. Do you not understand what would happen if we didn't have the large & well supplied armed forces filled with people like the brother in this video? Do you truly not comprehend what happens when there is no one around to stand between you and a foreign enemy who would like to invade and kill you? All of our service members are the equalizers and buffers between us and those who want to do the US harm. Without them you would be dead. They and the rest of the DoD are the only reason why you can sit comfortably in your own home and use your modern fast internet to talk shit about them. I genuinely do not understand how people think the safety and comfort of life in the US must just appear out of thin air like it's some intrinsic thing. You're so privileged in your life that you have never thought deeply or critically about how that privilege is able to exist. It doesn't just happen out of nowhere.
Something similar happened for my sister. Back in 2010 she was on a show called My Fair Wedding with David Tutera. She was the Goth, Alice in Wonderland bride. The producers of the show somehow got command to let our little brother go. He was deployed to Iraq at the time, and had been denied his request for leave. The show surprised all of us. My sister was already crying at the altar, and when we were asked to all turn around and saw our brother we were all bawling. Congratulations to this beautiful bride, and her groom, and their families. And to her brother, welcome home.
@@reginabyrd8903 some of my most treasured photos are from that day. It was crazy to be apart of. Still salty I wasn’t a bridesmaid. It was her best friend, our little sister, and our sister in law. They claim it’s because I lived in Wisconsin. The show would’ve made accommodations, I’m sure. I’ve just never been favored I guess. Or thin and pretty like the other women. Still happy for my sister and her day though. Just wanted to be included. Oh well.

But in reality, he sacrificed himself and signed the paper and agreed to serve. His family also made sacrifices for him to serve. From one military family to another…they all have my respect!
Thanks for making me cry. How beautiful. I remember my brother leaving for the service and was stationed in Spain. The feeling of seeing him home was powerful. I am so happy for her.
