Very few of these episodes show the family actually discussing real-life budget concerns and other aspects of the wedding/marriage that require money. It's great to see this mum helping her daughter keep her feet on the ground. She was also really accepting of a dress that she didn't like.

I agree with you. I liked the first dress more. I didn't like the straps. They kept falling down. Cut the straps off. Would have been perfect.

The consultant is the one who has 90% control over what she brings into the fitting room. So the consultant should be asking herself, “is this dress yes to the budget” before bringing in over-the-budget gowns. How hard is that? And BTW, dress #2 did not flatter the bride anyway.

Yeah, I've even heard them say on this show that you should never try on a dress that's over budget. I think it's kinda mean since some people have no extra money to raise the budget.

The only explanation I can think of is that the bride herself picked the dress off a rack. If I were a consultant I wouldn't have suggested that dress to flatter her figure. Dress 1 was ok.

I think the second dress looked wonderful. It was not a very conservative conservative dress as it was open ‘down to there’ in the front. The dress she chose was not at all flattering. She saw what she wished she looked like. She did not see what everybody else saw. Dress two was a missed opportunity.

Good for Mom for making her stick to her budget. The fact that the bride wasn't willing to do that on her own doesn't bode well for the marriage and the household.

I'm going to semi disagree. The bride understood that if she wanted to go over budget with the dress she'd have to cut back on other things she wanted, like the DJ. It would have been a problem if she had gone "I need the dress, and the DJ, and blah blah". You can move allocations within an overall budget. Still, good on mom for being the voice of reason!

They are always ordered to size unless you buy a sample. They also can get them tailored at the bridal store.

Dress 2 looked amazing on her! It flattered her figure. Dress 3 did not .. with some jewelry and a veil, she would have looked stunning in that 2nd dress. But in the end.. it’s the brides choice and how she feels. Her mom had an opinion but wasn’t a bully like some on the show.

That mesh is so revolting. No matter what gown it's on, the mesh that's supposed to fade into the background never does. And halter tops...Ladies, please come to grips with reality. Halter-top gowns look cheap and irrefutably look like over-styled tank tops that don't make anyone look better.

Totally agree on the skin toned lace comment. I hate that stuff too. U can always see it. It's like apart of the dress, but it doesn't nothing for the dresses but look weird. If I have a cut out, I want a real cut out. A hole! not an ugly mesh lace thing cut out.

Sad people cut off the budget for photographer because that one of the most important thing! Something to remember forever and without the photos or with poor quality photos, you’re unable to remember the beautiful time

The dress she chose doesn't look like it will stay up. She was already tugging it up. It's so tight I worry that she can hardly walk in it, and dancing might not work out. A wedding is more than just the walking down the aisle part.

Hmmm, the dress she picked give her such a belly! It's so unflattering on her. I really liked the first one, although the second one would have looked better with some "bling" added. Maybe a nice belt. One way or another, that third one was by far the least flattering. Also, that consultant REALLY favors Drew Barrymore to me!

@jsun68 yes because the first one had the top part, which stopped at the waist. I think breaking up the dress at the waist flattered her figure better than the all in one panel of the 3rd dress.

The dress she picked looks Ike it’s barely hanging on and one wrong move, plop! Boobs come out. I hope the fittings will help the draw cover the boobs and stay on. Also, it didn’t flatter her shape. She needed something fitted at the waist. She is beautiful though.

You guys know that smaple wedding dresses dont come in every single size, right? The dresses will usually be too big or too small. Thats why theres always clamps on the dresses when the bride tries them on.

She just picked a style she wanted, but she didn't pay attention to what looks great on her actual body.

A wedding gown should not be sexy it should be beautiful this is a wedding this is a bride not a sex symbol. You can look beautiful and also be somewhat covered up look elegant not slutty
