My first introduction to Jennifer Tilly and the only role I think of when I think of Jennifer Tilly. Tiffany really was stealing the show from chucky in his own movie cause she’s iconic I love the Tiffany doll especially her makeover. The stitched up chucky look scared tf out of me as a kid. The kills were great as well both Jade’s uncle and the horny couple got such great deaths. Definitely my top 3 of the franchise it’s so entertaining. Tiffany managing to bring chucky back from his death from child’s play 3 is very impressive. I love that between chucky and Tiffany she had some humanity in her where I felt bad for her all she wanted was some love in a healthy relationship but she got chucky who isn’t right for her.

The next 3 are awesome! The next Seed of Chucky is more campy than all of them and is a horror/comedy. It continues on the story of Chucky. No joke, everything is for real but just more theatrical than ever. And it is a great imagining of the Chucky franchise. Just go with it, I had a lot of laughs with this one!

This was Brad Dourif's personal favorite Child's Play movie until Curse of Chucky (2013) was released. The date on Tiffany's newspaper clippings at the beginning of the movie and the date of death on Charles Lee Ray's tombstone is 9th November 1988, the release date of the first Child's Play movie. Also in the evidence room in the beginning of the movie, there is "The Crate" from the movie Creepshow (1982). There was a planned album of love songs featuring Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly singing as their doll counterparts, Chucky and Tiffany. Its revealed in the movie commentary that Tiffany was to sing "Killing Me Softly With His Song", Chucky was intended to sing "House of the Rising Sun" and the two were to share a duet of "Hit the Road Jack". In the opening scene Michael Myers' and Jason's masks (from the Halloween (1978) and Friday the 13th (1980) movies), Leatherface's chain saw (from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) movies), and Freddy Kruger's glove (from A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) movies) are visible. Julia Stiles got the part of Jade, but later dropped out to play a role in 10 Things I Hate About You (1999). Brad Dourif has admitted he ad-libbed the line "why does that look so familiar?". There is a character in the film named Damien Baylock. In The Omen (1976), the satanic child is called Damien, while his evil nanny is called Mrs. Baylock. Tiffany's last name is Valentine. When Tiffanys pet tarantula "Charlotte" lands on Damiens face, a CG spider was used. Bride of Chucky is the most expensive Chucky Movie to this Date with a Budget of 25 Million Dollars. Two of Rob Zombie's songs are featured in the film. "Living Dead Girl" and "Thunderkiss 65". Brad Dourif would later play Sheriff Brackett in Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween (2007) and Halloween ll (2009) At around 17 mins. Chucky twisting his head around all the way in front of Damien is an obvious reference to The Exorcist (1973) coincidentally Brad Dourif (Chucky) was in The Exorcist III (1990) as the Gemini killer who also makes a reference to Child's Play (1988) in that movie. A certain Bride of Chucky (1998) promotional poster is a parody of one of the Scream 2 (1997) posters. In the news report on Jesse's radio in his van, the announcer said that Charles Lee Ray was gunned down in Hackensack, New Jersey in 1988. Charles Lee Ray in the first Child's Play movie was gunned down in 1988, however, he was gunned down inside a toy store in Chicago, Illinois The original Child's Play (1988) took place in November 1988, and the sequel Child's Play 2 (1990) about two years later in 1990, several months before Christmas season. Child's Play 3 (1991) took place 8 years later, in 1998, and Bride of Chucky takes place in 1998 as well, only about one month later, and features the first appearance of "Stitched Chucky", due his "death by fan" at the end of the third movie. In doll form, Tiffany initially has black hair, but dyes it blonde to look like her human form. In real life, actress Jennifer Tilly has black hair, and dyed her hair to play a blonde Gina Gershon was considered for the role of Tiffany Valentine, and was the second choice for the part after Jennifer Tilly. Both actresses had previously starred in Bound (1996). While not getting the part, she suggested to Tilly to get the part which she accepted. When Chucky is explaining to Jesse about how they ended up in doll bodies he says "If it were a movie, it would take 3 or 4 sequels just to do it justice". Bride of Chucky (1998) was preceded by Child's Play (1988), Child's Play 2 (1990) and Child's Play 3 (1991), so it indeed took one movie and three sequels to get to this point in the franchise's story. Coincidentally, this is the fourth Child's Play movie, and it was followed by another three sequels, Seed of Chucky (2004), Curse of Chucky (2013) and Cult of Chucky (2017) First movie in the series to not have Child's Play in the title. This makes it one of the rare franchises to not have a consistent name in the title of each movie. This is the first time that someone other than Chucky recites the Dambella chant. (Tiffany uses it in an attempt to bring back Chucky) When Tiffany's in the bathtub, she's watching Murder, She Wrote (1984) on the television which its episodes featured guest appearances by Jack Colvin who played Dr. Ardmore in Child's Play (1988), Beth Grant who played Miss Kettlewell in Child's Play 2 (1990),Peter Haskell who played Mr. Sullivan in Child's Play 2 (1990) and Child's Play 3 (1991), Jenny Agutter who played Joanne Simpson in Child's Play 2 (1990), Dakin Matthews who played Colonel Cochrane in Child's Play 3 (1991) and Brad Dourif who voices Chucky. Soundtrack features a Powerman 5000 track. Lead singer Spider One (real name: Michael David Cummings) is the lead singer of this metal group. He is the younger brother of musician Rob Zombie whom also appears on the soundtrack twice (once for his original groove-metal band White Zombie plus again for a solo career track of his: Living Dead Girl. Marks the only time Spider One & Zombie have appeared on the same motion picture soundtrack. The original ending was supposed to correspond with a scene that was taken out where during Jessie and Jades trip through Niagara falls they pass a museum featuring items from the most notorious serial killers murder sessions, to where Tiffany asks "Why isn't Chucky in here ?". When the movie ends there then was to be a scene where Chucky and Tiffany's bodies were now on display in the window of the serial killer artifact museum. The events in this film takes place one month after the previous one but this film was released after a gap of seven years. This is the first movie in the franchise where none of Chucky's body parts are severed before he dies. When Tiffany says to Damien about one thing she forgot to mention about Chucky, to which Damien sarcastically says "Don't tell me Smucky is one of those dolls that wets his pants" is similar to Childs Play 2 (1990) when Kyle is interrogated by the police officer regarding Chucky's bleeding nose she states to the officer "you've seen dolls that pee?, this one bleeds". One of the deaths is a homage to the First Cenobite (Pinhead) from Hellraiser (1987). Director Ronnie Yu would later work with John Ritter's son, Jason, on Freddy vs. Jason, a film that is foreshadowed here given Freddy's glove and a hockey mask appearing in the evidence locker room. According to the news report on Jesse and Jade for the serial killings, Jesse's last name is Miller. Michael Myers' mask from Halloween makes an appearance in this film along with a song by Rob Zombie during the opening credits, which is interesting as Brad Dourif, the voice of Chucky, would later played Sheriff Leigh Brackett in Zombie's remake Halloween (2007) and its sequel Halloween II (2009). The pet of Tiffany is a tarantula called Charlotte. The tarantula belongs to the genus of Avicularia Minatrix. After kidnapping Jesse and Jade, Chucky says that he and Tiffany are moving on up "like George and Wheezie!" referencing The Jeffersons (1975-1985) The handgun Tiffany uses is a nickel Bruni ME-8 police. The film's poster spoofs Scream 2. Brad Dourif, this film's killer, would later costar with Timothy Olyphant, Scream 2's killer, in Deadwood. Also, while Chucky's nemesis and original owner was Andy Barclay, the other killer Laurie Metcalf had played a mother who also has child named Andy whose toys also come to life. In the climax, Chucky dares Jade to shoot him, boasting that "I'll be back! I ALWAYS COME BACK!!" The humor is enhanced by the fact that both Chucky and William Afton are human serial killers that turned themselves into Animate Inanimate Objects of Show Within a Show children's entertainment brands. The scene in which Tiffany is electrocuted in the bathtub was originally written as Maggie's death in the original Child's Play (1988) When Chucky decides to kill Chief Kincaid, he first picks up a ball-peen hammer, only to put it down when Tiffany remarks, "Predictable." In the original Child's Play (1988), Chucky kills his first victim by hitting her in the head with a ball-peen hammer and sending her flying out a window. When John Ritter's character is killed, his face looks like Pinhead from Hellraiser (1987). Chucky exclaims "Why Does That Look So Familliar?", Andrew Robinson who played Sergeant Botnick in Child's Play 3 (1991) was in the first Hellraiser movie as Larry Cotton. Body Count: 10 Tiffany states that she was with Chucky for years and believed he wanted to marry her, after finding a diamond ring in his apartment after he died. Chucky later tells her, however, that he stole the ring from a woman he murdered and never intended to marry Tiffany. The film indicates he was simply selfish and never considered a domestic life. But it's revealed in a later film that there was another reason: Chucky was in love with another woman around the time he died. This is shown in Curse of Chucky and revealed to the heroine, whose mother he'd been obsessed with. Chucky kills Tiffany twice in this movie, first when she's a human and then near the end when she's a doll. Though Tiffany's eyes are apparently brown, they oddly turn green when she's in doll form without explanation. This even occurs in Seed of Chucky when she regains human form (her eyes flash green after killing someone, indicating it's Tiffany and not Jennifer Tilly committing murder). When Tiffany dies, The Bride of Frankenstein is on the TV. Specifically it's the scene where the Bride rejects her mate. Becomes very harsh in Seed of Chucky when Tiffany and her son Glen conspire to kill Chucky. Tiffany dies by electrocution while watching Bride of Frankenstein (1935) a movie where the title character is brought to life by electrocution.

Tiffany's makeover scene is the definition of iconic. But on a more sobering note... As a kid, I was hardcore shipping Jesse and Jade (I ALMOST SAID "JAMES", PFFT!)--but now that I'm almost 27, I realize how sus their whole "forbidden love" shtick was. Dude's like 24 and lives in a trailer park, doesn't seem to be financially adequate, and isn't in school--uprooting a well-to-do 17 year old teenager from her family, high school, and friends before pressuring her to get married during an extremely stressful time in their lives. And he's crazy enough to actually go through with all of these plans before ultimately marrying her in an act of manipulative desperation. Warren and his crooked cop friend were obviously annoying and went about their jobs in a petty and unprofessional way, but now I can kind of sympathize with them. In a certain light, they are making sure that this young lady doesn't get groomed, taken advantage of, and whisked away by some older, dirt-poor dirtbag who probably first got involved with her because of her family's money. Perhaps the infatuation came later, but still too freaking early--she's only 17 for Damballa's sake. Warren was a harsh helicopter guardian, but he was looking out for her. She was his family, and what teenager isn't difficult at some point? It was probably exacerbated since Jade appeared to have no other family but Warren. Jesse and Jade's unsavory little fling could have blown over as some puppy crush by the time she turned 21, anyway--and things might have improved between Warren and Jade once she grew up and mellowed out. By all means, Warren--give Jesse hell until Jade is an adult and can make an informed consensual decision over this nonsense. Jesse should have at least waited until then before doing all of this if he "loved" her so much, right? *What dollsh!t.* *Get stabbed, Jesse.*

This is the one I was way too scared to watch as a kid cause of how Chucky looked but as an adult it’s pure comedy 😅. I also love the 3rd one I don’t care what anyone says lol. It was my intro to chucky so ofc I’m gonna have a soft spot for it. Of the ones you’ve seen so far, my ranking would go: Child’s play 2, Bride, 3, & 1 .
