Consultant: What's your budget? Bride: Around £5000 Consultant: great here's one for £1000 C: what's your budget? B: £2000 C: okay here's one for £5000 Like why?
Well the price depends on the brides vision for the dress yes they want dresses under the price limit but they also want dresses that fit the brides vision
It also depends on what kind of dress the bride is looking for, you know? Style, material, brand, etc... It may make the dress cost more just to get what they are looking for.
@@MsJubjubbird but it also _isn’t_ the mother’s wedding. What’s the point of sticking to completely traditional if that doesn’t make the bride/groom happy? Should they give up _their_ special day all so the peers can have a better time?
@@ragingoverwatch3052 yes but the mother is emotionally invested- as are the rest of the family. it's her little girl getting married and she does have ideas about how she would like her daughter to look or what would and would not offend the family- wh have taken the time to come to the wedding. There's what the bride wants but then there's also being appropriate- which this could be considered not. The mothers who want their daughter to wear a princess dress when the daughter wants a fit and flare ect and should therefore let their kid get what they want are in a different situation to this
@@MsJubjubbird I read over this twice and it still didn’t make too much sense. (Could you please try to summarize it? It could also be because I just woke up 😂) Did you see what I said, though? I stated that the bride should feel how she wants to, in the dress that _she_ likes. She shouldn’t need to act happy in a dress that she doesn’t like just so she could “please” the traditional wedding lovers. It’s her wedding. If that’s what she’d like to wear, that’s up to her.
@@laibachoudhry3420 not sick shit blue leather gowns and that too on weddings. If she wants that she can have it. That doesn't make it less hideous to me.
Yeah nope, bcs that dress has a specific flowery anf fairy look and its not made to be put by a black leather dress It would not lool good together at all
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 I think it's just a matter of wedding setting. She was getting married to a biker so I think it fits. However, I will agree that it looks more like a formal dress rather than a wedding dress.
That dress looked ridiculous on her though because it wasn’t her personality. It wore her, not the other way around. She felt far more confident in the leather.
I'm all up for wanting an edgy dress or something out of the ordinary that matches her personality but this dress just wasn't enough. Like a designer could've made a gown using leather or frills/net and done a much better job. Many people here think that that is what ruined the dress but I feel like the design is what ruined the dress. It was a two-piece that feels like it was thrown together for mix and match. I know it's not a conventional dress and they might not have been prepared for it but the bride should've gone to a designer who would've incorporated all of this in a much better way instead of buying this.
That's what I thought ... exactly. As it is a two piece gown she can even combine with what ever she likes ... pencil skirt to the corsage or whatever ...
@@kiwikatie4400 Well, not exactly. She seemed to love the first dress until her daughter dissuaded her. I think she does the whole 'cool biker chick' thing to empress her teenaged daughter. Looking at her, the soccer mom haircut, the sweater set, etc...I think she's not nearly so 'edgy' as she'd like her daughter to think.
Bruh same only Im 19 and supposed to be watching history videos but every time I open RU-vid I end up here, y'all wanna explain what kinda trickery this is---
Idk my style is traditional but I still think the 'edgy' dress she picked is kinda boring... I mean to each their own I guess but she could've found something way more cool at a regular dress shop & half the price
If the second dress had more detailing and maybe sparkle or bling it would been awesome, but as it is, just looks like two plain garments put together.
The first just she tried on is so gorgeous! I love it! The second dress is tacky she looks like it's from a costume shop. What the hell! That dress does not scream bride. I'm pretty sure 90%of the guests will outdress her on the day.
@@nishadwivedi7883 We're allowed to have our options as observers too you know, just fyi. And btw, pretty much all the other comments are the same as above, so..... Majority agrees.
@@nishadwivedi7883 These are the kinda people in the wedding parties who try to dominate the brides choice/ or ruin her moment by making tacky comments.... And yk what's the best solution to that .... Ignore them Coz people don't understand the simple concept of personal choice.....
I like the dress but it doesn't feel like a wedding gown at all (except for the price tag!) Perhaps if it were in the leather but white with black detailing it would still be "edgy" yet bridal at the same time.
Oh..... but why would you go into that store for something like she wants? :-) She couldve had so much more choice if she looked elsewhere... Just go onto any website that sells goth dresses or even prom dresses.... Personally I thought the first dress looked amazing on here and I’m not into dark wedding dresses... But even if I was I still think she couldve found something much more exciting than that.... Either way... To each their own of course!
I love how I finally get to see a turn out where the bride puts her foot down and says "yeah, I like this dress and I'm keepin' it!" despite the parents rejecting it! All the others are all like "oh i love it and it's my dream dress but my dad said nah so out the window it goes!"
@Ashley Spurling I know but most of the brides are near 30's and they break down if their moms dislike the dress even a bit and it becomes this whole breakdown.
Prob cuz you would not wanna see ur daughter wearing that dress down the isleXD it's more like a part dress there are more choices she should have thought of an idea I saw was the first dress with a white leather jacket
3,220 pounds for that conventional plain skirt and leather top? Seems urged to please her teenage daughter with that choice... She totally stands out with the first dress, her figure, her hair and skin color enhance perfectly with it. The embroidered work on it is beautiful and definetely not tacky. I agree with wise Mrs. Myra.
SHE didn't stand out in that dress, the dress stood out on her XD (when sha put it on it was like she dissapeard). Did I like the first dress? Yes, yes I did BUT it swallowed her whole . I didn't really like any of them personally M K I think she went there to please her mother, not herself.
The first dress was hideous on her; she might be petite and blond, but that doesn't mean she's comfortable in something that actually wore her, not the other way around.
She could have had better and cheaper buying a leather top through a leather vendor and a skirt anywhere they sell prom dresses. She's paying for the "design".
I'm not normally one for non traditional colored gowns but I freaking LOVED that leather dress on her. It looks expensive and well-made, its just not tailored to her yet. Normally when people go for black dresses they're trying to look slim and hide esteem issues or hate the idea of being 'basic' but I think this older woman is embracing herself and her style, and even defied her mother for it. That (and her unsuspecting appearance) says a lot about how she's probably had to always fit in and be someone she's not. Her daughter was right with her on embracing her own style and feeling and looking badass. If she was super young and going through a phase it would be one thing, but she's clearly an adult and knows what she wants. And she looks expensive in it, too. Right the fuck on. I wish I had a mom like that.
I like the confidence she hade saying : Nope, i like this one. Like a lot of brides change their dresses just cuz their mom didnt like it and how she choose it without thinking way too much into it was my fave 😔🤘🔥✨
Yep. People who have to keep telling you they're 'edgy' or in fact even think of themselves as 'edgy' aren't really edgy. They're just adopting a persona. Edgy people are just being themselves and probably don't think of themselves as even being edgy. It's like weird people. They don't really know they're weird. Or eclectic style decorating. If it is done intentionally, then it isn't really eclectic.
1st gown looked much better. 2nd looked horrific. If she had an all leather gown, that's edgy and probably better looking than that navy blue skirt. Edgy? She came in in a henley grey jumper!
while I loved the first dress ( bc it’s my style lol) I’m so glad she picked the second dress!!! She stuck to who she is and that’s admirable when a lot of people are telling you not to.
Yeah! She’s so nice and supportive.. I feel bad for her when her granddaughter said with a high tone “that’s her choice! not yours!” despite granny already accepted it whole-heartedly.. I wish the granddaughter could be nicer to her adorable granny 😢
I really like the mom even though she's probably gonna get upset with the leather one. "Takes after her mum," I loved. Let's see if my opinion drastically changes.
The cool thing about this outift is that it can be worn again, either together or separately, making those special day memories live again. Hope the wedding was FAB!
@@Curiousever I agree, to me though edgy can mean a multitude of things... Usually it's the accessories, but my style is more fantasy-edge, as I like to call it. Honestly, the first dress could probably have been altered to maybe include some type of metal pyramid studs and pearls instead of flowers or something, however that treads close to being tacky. Having an edgy look to me is either you go big or go home and her leather corset and blue skirt? Eh... Accessories can hopefully fix anything? ^^; I like that she followed her heart though.
@notconvincedgranny if she wears an "edgy" wedding dress, she's pretty committed. but i agree, her whole wedding dress and wedding is based on her being edgy
I loved it that although she found that she looked pretty in another dress. But she chose who she is. She chose the dress in which she is not only comfortable, she feels herself and beautiful too.
I don't know why they couldn't find a white leather corset to go over that blue skirt. It can't be THAT difficult to get one. She would have looked more bridal in that.
i feel like im the only one who loves the second dress more than the first.. first looks more basic than the second, the black with the blue looks beautiful!!
I feel like the black leather could be fitted around her waist better. Tbh neither dress really looked that great. The first looked like a fairy princess dress with random flowers and the second was edgy but plain at the same time.
What's in the store are samples for people to try on. They then choose a style, are measured and a dress is made to those measurements. The sample dresses are sometimes sold several seasons later and can be very cheap, but have been tried on many times, may be a little damaged and there's no choice in size.
If she wanted something “edgy”, I would’ve recommended a clean wedding jumpsuit. This would’ve suited her “motor bike” personality and her figure as well as the event which is her wedding. Damn
I feel like I’ve seen a couple of Say Yes To The Dress episodes wherein the bride wants something biker-chic or edgy... so, why not do a white or ivory leather corset top with the a-line skirt? It’s bridal and different. 🤷🏻♀️...
I personally love the top but I think it would have been really cool to mash the leather top with edgy but white or offwhite bottom I think that'd look gorgeous
Both those dresses looked gorgeous on her. I personally loved the gold flowery one but the midnight blue tulle skirt and leather top looked amazing and suited her personality x
I liked how confident she was. Younger brides put a lot of weight on their mother’s opinions, this bride didn’t care that her mom didn’t like her choice, she just went for it.
RU-vid has pictures of very colorful gowns. Some of the colorful gowns were, absolutely, beautiful. I would go with those rather than white. Nothing stays the same.
I loved her choice and love the fact she chose what she wanted, it's her day so many of them settle for a dress just to please mother when deep down it's not 100% what they want, I thought she thought outside of the box and really rocked that dress, it was gorgeous
I m obsessed with this show... I mean i wont even probably get to wear white dress cause i m an indian but still it feels amazing to see these beautiful dresses
Love this! When I get married I would like an elven wedding style dress. Have always been worried I'm not going to find this in a bridal shop but this gives me hope :) xx
I honestly really loved both dresses!!! I was thinking maybe buy the first one for the wedding and then the second one for the reception though? I didn't look at the prices of each dress, so that probably would have been over budget... I'm super glad she went with the second one though!
Gothic is two things: ice cold steel soaked in the blood of enemies and flowers. The first dress made her look like an Elven queen, a fair folk mistress of chaos and euphoria. The second dress was a my-first corset and a prom skirt.
But that's her whole point--she's not some "airy fairy" sort of woman, she likes things that are unconventional, and didn't want to look the same as 100,000 other brides.
