the mother’s reaction to the woman telling her daughter that people love her, she just needs to love herself broke my heart because you can tell her mother and her best friend truly think the world of her and think she’s so beautiful

When I got married 26 years ago, I was 5’4” and 145 pounds, with DD boobs. The first shop we went into, the lady said, “Oh I see we have a problem body.” I didn’t think I was fat until they said that. Thank goodness for these ladies. I hope we have something similar in the US, because my daughter actually is a bit heavy and I never want her to have that experience.

I'm normally not a fan of these "girly-gossipy" programmes but this has really changed my view on that. She does look stunning and truly was inspirational.

I know it probably sounds stupid, but I got really moved when the bride said to the consultant that she was very gentle, as she was tying the corset, and the consultant answered : aw, thank you my peach, you are a delicate object. I got so emotional, it was such a precious moment.

When a man wants you for the rest of his life your shape is beloved no matter what your size.

*Nothing makes me more happy when someone who is not confident on their own skin or weight and then they try on their perfect dress and see how beautiful they actually are inside and out!Its a blessing to see such a progress and confidence.*

I love how encouraging the two ladies are. I love how the short hair lady actually sort of forces people to believe in their own beauty and tells everyone else to keep their negativity to themselves. and on the other hand, the other lady is just so soft that always try to make the brides feel comfortable and confident. we need more people like them.

I wish I had gone to these ladies for my wedding dress. I compromised on my dress because I was bigger and I actually hated it. I don’t even like looking at my wedding photos. One day we will redo the whole thing and I will have the dress I always wanted!

A dress is just a piece of fabric, it's the person wearing it that that makes it stunning.

Whoever had the audacity to tell her to lose weight has tremendously failed, not only at their job but to act human and have empathy and respect. People should have by now grown awareness that in this world we will come in different sizes, shapes and colour.

Some sales people are so rude and disrespectful. Rather than tell her to lose weight why not just tell her you don't have her size, in fact you could refer her to another place. She could have easily referred you to someone else had you not been so rude.

I'm sorry. she needed to name the shop so real women like me would boycott it. and I'm a size zero. that was extremely rude and insensitive what they did to her when she's beautiful inside and out

It can be really hard for someone to lose or gain weight. Sometimes the problem is deeper than that and they need to work hard and not lose courage. It's definitely hard stuff.

This is therapy with a clear goal. That dress made such a difference in the bride's level of confidence. The bride seems like a lovely lady, her mother is so supportive and sweet and she is right, she is lovely, she just needed to see it. I hope she had a wonderful wedding !

I like how they have a small mirror in the dressing room so that the bride's can work their way up to seeing themselves in a full length mirror.

This gives me the confidence to go look for a dress. I worry so much about my body in a wedding dress. Because I don't wear dresses. I hate full length mirrors. My face. Yes beautiful. My body not so much. But k love my fiance so much and I wanna get married and feel special on that day. This helps

What I love about this version of Say Yes to the Dress is that they teach the viewers about self love. Regardless of shape and size. Every one of us has that one problem area, and they teach us to love ourselves. Perfection!

Being an ex-obese person, the employee that told her to lose weight is terrible! HOWEVER, that being said, if her weight bothered her to the extent that she couldn't even look at her reflection maybe she should try to lose weight. Not to be thinner and "beautiful", but to be healthy and comfortable in her own skin. 😊🌺🌸 She looked beautiful in the wedding gown 🌸🌺😊

I'm a size 22/24 as well. I hate mirrors, & avoid seeing my own reflection. Having been put down the majority of my life, totally relate to this bride.

I am crying as I watch this, probably bc I’m pregnant but also bc I have struggled with the same issues. I remember avoiding looking in the mirror or looking at pictures of myself. It takes a lot of work to learn to love yourself no matter what you look like, but I’m telling you it is possible. Be kind to others. Be kind to yourself.

If she’s not happy with her weight then it’s up to her to change it. The consultant at the previous store had no right to say that to her

Sat here crying my eyes out for her because I know the exact pain she is feeling! There are days when I look at food and all I see is calories and then there are days I see it as comfort. Trying to love yourself when you hate what you’ve become is so incredibly hard but this bride is so so stunning

When i went to a one bridal shop ,here in Greece i was 4 months pregrant ,and the shop owner saw me and she told me that she haven't wedding dresses for fat ladies.That was 17 years ago ,and still when i am pass from there i really want to cry again.I have been skinny and i am fat now ,but i am the same person inside.The most wonderful compliment came from one doctor ,we talk a little and then he tells me to get on the scale.When he saws the number ,he told me you are so smiling and gentle that i did not realise that you are fat person.These ladies doing an amazing amazing job supporting all these brides.Keep up the good work.Dimitra 💐

I have actually kinda experienced this. I was shopping for prom dresses and I was apparently ’late’ coz people need to get them taylored if their body is not like a size s and perfect fit for the shape of the dress. Overall a bigger store told me that they didn’t have my size more than like two different dresses and I didn’t like them. The customer service was not rude but the clerk was just cold. I honestly felt hopeless. Just to add to this misery my brother was really sick at the time so I really didn’t even see any reason to spend a lot of time going through shops to find prom dress options. So I felt like shit and I was already getting depressed that there was not even a chance that I would get a dress that I would like even a little bit. After a week or two I went to a small store that litterally had one dress in my size and I was feeling horrible about it (still do) Luckily the shop owner was the loveliest person I’ve ever met. She told me how pretty I looked and that made me have the confidence to even go to prom. It’s been a year since prom and I can’t help but think how disappointing the whole experience was. It wasn’t confidence lifting even the slightest. I can’t help but regret that I didn’t have that amazing prom dress shopping when you go through like dozens of dresses to find the ’perfect’ one Btw if anyone did read this, my size is like XL in European sizes.

My older cousin passed away today. He’s big, he do not monitor carefully what he eats. He suddenly just drop on the floor...... I couldn’t ask much about the details on his hospitalization because everyone is upset, but as far as i can get, its about he’s lifestyle and eating habits. It’s very insulting to tell people to lose weight. But if you think your weight is something above normal, please do it, not for others, not so you become sexy or have a great looking body. But so you can live healthier and longer with your love ones. People who love you will suffer too if you get sick. Physical appearance will fade away in time. But everyone wants to spend a long happy life without illness with love ones. Still I hope people realize they need to be careful on what they say, everyone have feelings and telling a bride to lose some weight for a dress...... 😑😑😑 The Bride is beautiful. :)
