@@minna3845 it's a long piece of wood or metal with a support in the middle. Someone sits on each side and you can make the other person go up into the air by pushing with your feet. I've heard it called a teeter-totter too
I like how they were enthusiastic about her wanting sleeves. Often they discourage sleeves when they sense it's about confidence or something. But she wanted sleeves for the right reasons.
@@sixxlee890 Self Decoration! I love it. I'm 75, and am often surprised by the amazing tattoos people have these days. Such an artistic, individual statement. :))
I love that there is no talk of "price points" in this show. No concocted, orchestrated drama with old tired story lines, like the other versions. Each bride tells her unique story.
I have a friend who along to an appointment there (as entourage). When the appointment is booked, they ask the budget and only show the brides dresses within that range. The consultant who saw my friend (on the show it looks like it's just Jo & Al there, but they actually have a team of consultants working for them) said they do that because many plus size brides have had so many bad shopping experiences, where they've fallen in love with something they've not been able to have, that they don't want the same to happen in their boutique due to price. Also, in normal bookings, they discreetly tell the bride the price for each dress but said they don't on the show because they feel it's tacky for a bride to have to tell the world what she can afford. The brides are already vulnerable, laying their insecurities bare for the world to see. If they only let them show the ones they can help fix (like body positivity) then it's a positive experience. They can't help someone's financial status, so don't feel it's fair to let them disclose that. Apparently, they had to put their foot down to keep pricing out of the show - & I think it says a lot about how lovely Jo & Al are that they chose to do that and protect their brides over extra promotion of their business.
Love how they actually listen to brides and empower them to be the best version of themselves, not someone else. Them and Gok are my wedding show gurus
"I've been known to sew a bit.." Can we just stop a moment to appreciate the beautiful custom wing sleeves Jo made? Like holy cow those are amazing. The detail in them. That takes a level of skill most seamstresses dream to possess. Especially when dealing with such fine fabrics as lace or chiffon. Like wow. Great job Jo.
@Sherry Rutledge I'm aware these shows will edit things around to make it seem like something is one way when it isn't, but they implied quite heavily that she altered the material from its original form into the wing sleeves for the bride and I honestly can't find anything to indicate otherwise. Altering something from one form to another would still be her making them imho.
When I first heard about the sleeves, I thought that they would be costumey. But they actually look like they were made for the dresses. My favourite was the second one, but she looked lovely in all of them.
this is the very best show of it's kind because it is not a "show" it is honest ...the others with troops of friends family members and hangers on have become very boring and contrived thank you for being who and what you are please do not fall into the production number format.
yeah. the only requirement to be on this show is that youre a larger size and you struggle to find a dress. the others need you to prove that at least one member of their entourage is batshit crazy and then you have to sign that youll be willing to let pnina tornai show up deus-ex-machina and personally give you a discount on a dress the salespeople had no business pulling for you in the first place
I started crying before she even had the 3rd dress fully on. When I saw that fabric on her skin, I knew that would be the one for her and it made me so happy. I couldn't help but cry. I'm working on losing the weight I gained during quarantine and sometimes it's hard to feel like the person you're with loves you, even when they say they do. So it was nice having that bit of encouragement. I hope her marriage is prosperous.
I wish you luck on what you put your mind to, and that you will achieve your goals. Keep going strong and just remember that setbacks can happen sometimes bc life can be a bit rude sometimes 😊
You guys should be life coaches. So much positivity. And your ability to help the bride find her confidence, is simply amazing. And then, all your dresses are awesome. The way it is, designed and stitched, the brides though heavy, get a curvy look and no sagging and droopy chest, something we find when even slim brides wear certain wedding gowns.
I cried at the end. Im 64 yes old and it took me 55 years to stop body shaming myself because of what others thought about how I looked. I love me today just as I am. What a beautiful bride and what magnificent woman who own the shop.
Love this bride and her confidence. I'm in a "mixed weight" marriage too and could care less what other people think. My hubby loves me for me AND my curvy body!
@@kaylachandler1967 At first I was confused and thought maybe mixed meant he was not white (still a horrible thing to say...) but a ''mixed-weight'' relationship??? What's new, what kind of person will say such thing? I mean I didn't even understand at first. The person who said it probably dedicated some time to think a way to insult this lady.
I will never be able to understand the comment about couple being together "despite" one of them is curvy... I would say people are together because they just like the body shape of the partner. It is not a "charity", it is just a win to find a partner with the body you like, no matter which shape is it...
Absolutely perfect!!!!!! The "wings" were made for that dress. That dress was made for this beautiful bride! I wish I could see her enchanting wedding.
Everything about this episode was above and beyond! This sleeves are the best, literal best, looking sleeves I’ve ever seen makeshifted onto a gown. And her choice of dress was stunning! Way to go, ladies!
She is now my favorite bride ever! Her attitude and personality are perfect. The dress she picked was beautiful, but honestly I would have had a helluva time picking. She was stunning in all of them. Hope she has the best wedding !
This was fabulous!! Love the bride, love her friend, love the dress, love those amazing sleeves and especially love Jo and Al for being two extra amazing humans!!
These two ladies are so very kind and loving. They genuinely treat each bride as if she is the most important person in the world to them, and I believe in those moments she is.
I loved her face when she saw that last dress you could tell she loved it before she even said anything and her friend knew it too. such a pretty girl, loved the colour of her hair.
I love that these ladies do everything they can to make sure that the brides-to-be feel beautiful as well as look beautiful. Being plus-sized is such a nightmare for bridal shopping, and this makes me wish these two ladies would visit America once or twice!
I 'm not a "traditional" bride, although my husband and I got married in a gothic cathedral on Halloween. My dress was silk chiffon and with a cathedral train and floor length Maid Marion sleeves. There was very little bling, just a few crystals scattered across the top. My husband had tears in his eyes and was blown away 💜. I have never seen a dress anything like it before, and almost 18 years later our families and friends still bring it up from time to time. I could have spent millions on a dress and never found one that I love as much as I do mine.
I have been watching this show for a while and I have to say this is the most impressive transformation I've ever seen. They really nailed it with the sleeves and I'm glad that she liked the last dress that she tried on because I felt it looked the most like Maid Marion
I feel like the third one really went with the aesthetic of the sleeves and the overall theme. Though with how great she looked in all of them I can't say there would have been a wrong pick! Blessings to the couple! ❤
I really love this programme! Never going back to say yes to the dress! These women are so natural and honest with their clients and the clients are truly fabulous!
Such a beautiful dress, such a beautiful bride and such a beautiful shopping experience....I love her little dance at the end..made me tear up with a huge smile
This made me so happy to finally see this. After 9 months of planning my own woodland themed wedding, and also wanting to look like a faerie for my wedding (my hair is just like hers!!
Lindsey's proposal is the MOST EPIC I have heard of in my 57 years!! Congratulations on your engagement and wedding!! And your wedding dress is gorgeous...and so are YOU!!
